May each of you have the heart to conceive, the understanding to direct, and the hand to execute works that will leave the world a little better for your having been here. -- Ronald Reagan

On Civility from the Left

Examples of Leftist civility while they lecture the rest of us.

Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ): "For a while, you've been feeding this hatred, this division ... you feed it, you encourage it. ... Some of the extreme right wing has made demonization of elected officials their priority."

Obama: "If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun." Obama also called Republicans “hostage takers”.

Joe Biden: "If I hear one more Republican tell me about balancing the budget, I am going to strangle them."

A taste of hypocrisy: Democrat Rep. Paul Kanjorski: "It is incumbent on all Americans to create an atmosphere of civility and respect in which political discourse can flow freely, without fear of violent confrontation." Rep. Kanjorski later said of then-Florida gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott: "They ought to have him and shoot him. Put him against the wall and shoot him."

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), "It Really Is Time For Americans To Take Up Pitchforks."

The Left is stumbling all over itself about Sarah Palin using the word “targeting” during the 2010 campaign, about what specific congressional and senate seats were winnable.
From their own mouths:

"Democrats Launch Website Targeting 'Republican Lies'" (Statist and Obama supporting Washington Post)

"A coalition known as Americans United for Change is targeting Republican senators" (NPR)

"Obama administration officials said they were targeting Republican Senators" (CNN)

"Dems Play Hardball: Target Republican Senators" (Huffington Post)

"In the meantime, Obama will continue to target Republicans" (CBS)

Then there’s this lovely bit from “tingle up my leg” Chris Matthews: "I have to tell you, Rush Limbaugh is looking more and more like Mr. Big, and at some point somebody's going to jam a CO2 pellet into his head and he's going to explode like a giant blimp"

Solemn

This is from the service of Christina Taylor Green, born on Sept. 11, 2001.

Murdered by a madman in Tuscon, AZ, Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011.

This murder, though all of the lost lives and wounding grieves me deeply, sadden's me the most.

We pray for God's guidance and comfort for this family at a time of deep loss and grief.

The Left's Lies About "Blood Libel"

Sarah Palin: "America's Enduring Strength" from Sarah Palin on Vimeo.

Hank Sheinkopf, Democrat Party “consultant”, claiming to be Jewish, said:
“The blood libel is something anti-Semites have historically used in Europe as an excuse to murder Jews — the comparison is stupid. Jews and rational people will find it objectionable.” “This will forever link her to the events in Tucson. It deepens the hole she’s already dug for herself. … It’s absolutely inappropriate.”

I said about Sheinkopf, ‘claiming’ to be Jewish, because first and foremost he’s a liar, and second a Statist.

First, Palin isn’t in any hole; she’s been blamed for the shooting in Tucson from the second hour of the event. The shooter had a beef with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords before Palin hit the national scene. The Left’s Palin Derangement Syndrome went full blast with this. One knucklehead “reporter” said Palin had once again found a way to insert herself into a national story. How’d she do that? She defended herself against the libel from the Jurassic Press and the leadership of the Democrat Party. Of course Rush Limbaugh had a hand in this too. He and Palin are accessories to murder according to the Jurassic Press and Democrat Party.

Blood libel is not, as the Jurassic Press and Leftist Jews are using it, an anti-Semitic accusation from the Middle Ages that Jews killed Christian babies and used their blood to make matzo for Passover. Muslims and other anti-Semites use this now, often repeated; it very popular in the Middle East. If anything it’s a defense of Jews against that libel, just as Palin has defended the Right from the Left’s intolerant bigoted lies about anyone that does not agree with the Statist agenda.

Palin’s analogy is correct and just. Just as anti-Semites put blood on the hands of Jews, the Left has put the blood of the Tucson murders on the hands of Conservatives specifically, and Republicans in a broader context this past week. The accusation that the murderer was incited to murder by the ‘right wing’ is as false accusation, just as the accusation of Jews murdering Christian babies is false.

The Left has no shame. They lie about Sarah Palin, lie about the causes of the murders, lie about what ‘blood libel’ is, and then call Palin anti-Semitic because she fit their lying definition of ‘blood libel’.

I’m disgusted.

President Obama's Violent Hate Speech

The Democrats and their mindless propagandists in the Jurassic Press have been trying to blame conservatives for the tragedy in Tucson, AZ all day long. [here, here, and here] They’ve been making noises about creating more gun control laws and more laws limiting free speech, 'cause they just want to stop the violence of the right wing extremists. Maybe they should bring their own leader to heal regarding his own violent speech.

Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”

Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”

Obama on ACORN Mobs: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”

Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard”

Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.”

Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”

Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”

Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”

Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight.”

Leftist Using Tragedy for Political Gain

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vQ4q1woO8I

Using a shooting spree to gain political advantage. Just how despicable and shameless can these Leftists become?

Earlier posts on the political uses the Left is making from the horrible tragedy here and here

Controlling Chaos With Lies

My previous post observed the despicable use, by the Left, to politicize the tragic deaths and wounding of several innocent people by a crazed nut case recently in Tucson, AZ.

George Will makes some interesting and powerful observations about how this development of the Left’s pinning evil acts and people onto Conservatives, Christians, and just plain ol’ ordinary citizens trying to make a living for themselves and their families.
“The craving is for banishing randomness and the inexplicable from human experience. Time was, the gods were useful. What is thunder? The gods are angry. Polytheism was explanatory. People postulated causations.
And still do. Hence: The Tucson shooter was (pick your verb) provoked, triggered, unhinged by today's (pick your noun) rhetoric, vitriol, extremism, ‘climate of hate’."
A characteristic of many contemporary minds is susceptibility to the superstition that all behavior can be traced to some diagnosable frame of mind that is a product of promptings from the social environment. From which flows a political doctrine: Given clever social engineering, society and people can be perfected. This supposedly is the path to progress. It actually is the crux of progressivism. And it is why there is a reflex to blame conservatives first."
Rather than engage in debate and discussion of issues, remember that the primary assault on the TEA Party, whose only agenda is lower taxes and limited government, were labeled over and over and over as racists. Racist because the president is black, and if one disagrees with his policies, then one is a racist.

Will again:
"Three days before Tucson, Howard Dean explained that the Tea Party movement is "the last gasp of the generation that has trouble with diversity." Rising to the challenge of lowering his reputation and the tone of public discourse, Dean smeared Tea Partyers as racists: They oppose Obama's agenda, Obama is African American, ergo . . .
Let us hope that Dean is the last gasp of the generation of liberals whose default position in any argument is to indict opponents as racists. This McCarthyism of the left - devoid of intellectual content, unsupported by data - is a mental tic, not an idea but a tactic for avoiding engagement with ideas. It expresses limitless contempt for the American people, who have reciprocated by reducing liberalism to its current characteristics of electoral weakness and bad sociology."
I’m optimistic that this kind of demonization the Left engages in, doing in fact what they claim Conservatives and Traditionalist do, is finally being recognized by ordinary citizens for the lies and hypocrisy it is, and the Left will be pushed back, hopefully for a long enough time for this country to decompress from the lies and hatred that has caused us so much socioeconomic distress.

Trading Death and Tragedy Into Political Gain

Jared Lee Loughner's Mug Shot

Dems and the Jurassic Press blame all violence on the Right, anyone to the Right of them being by definition an extremist, of all on the Right being violent by nature. Thinking back to the emergence of the TEA Party movement how they were Nazi’s (Nancy Pelosi making that claim often and early), and those Docker wearing Dad’s with Polo shirts were a bunch of violent racists; we covered that for nearly two years leading up to the 2010 election. The Oklahoma bombing Bill Clinton directly blamed on Rush Limbaugh, and the guy in Texas that flew in the IRS building was immediately labeled a right wing extremist even though he turned out to be a Leftist.

Statists in this country bemoan the “politics of personal destruction” but one needs look no further than the vileness directed at Sarah Palin the last two years, the attacks on her children, the personal attacks on GW Bush and Dick Cheney to see they don’t walk the talk. There was Murtha, an ex-Marine and congressman calling US soldiers in combat murderers, and Dick Durban comparing US soldiers to Soviet Gulag Stalin style murderers and torturers, Pol Pot, Hitler, and all the vile rest.

Now we have a gunman in Tucson, AZ kill and wound many. How do the Dems and Jurassic Press respond?

Within in an hour of the event on CNN this exchange with David Fitzsimmons, a political cartoonist for the Arizona Daily Star:
Fitzsimmons: I must tell you, as a columnist who's covered politics in this state, it was inevitable from my perspective.
Savidge: Why do you say that?
Fitzsimmons: Because the right in Arizona, and I'm speaking very broadly, has been stoking the fire of heated anger and rage successfully in this state. And, you know, it's just stunning when you consider Congresswoman Giffords's positions on the issues. She is a centrist. She is a moderate. And I don't know who the shooter is--have no idea who the shooter is--but what could possibly motivate an individual to be enraged against, or to take down, a moderate centrist? To me that just paints a picture of how off the mark the politics of this state have grown.
Fitzsimmons and his newspaper later apologized for the comment. It was such an emotional moment don’t you see….well, boo hoo. This is what these people are about. Don’t believe a word of it.

Then there’s the Marxist economist Paul Krugman that has been proven wrong about all of his economic and political analysis:
We don't have proof yet that this was political, but the odds are that it was. She's been the target of violence before. And for those wondering why a Blue Dog Democrat, the kind Republicans might be able to work with, might be a target, the answer is that she's a Democrat who survived what was otherwise a GOP sweep in Arizona, precisely because the Republicans nominated a Tea Party activist.

Krugman didn’t apologize. He made his statement on the Saturday within a couple hours of the event.

New York Daily News: "Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' Blood Is on Sarah Palin's Hands After Putting Cross Hair Over District."

Politico: "Liberals Blame Sarah Palin in Wake of Tucson Shooting."  This was posted less than three hours after the shootings.

George Packer of the “New Yorker”:
Many conservative leaders, activists, and media figures have made a habit of trying to delegitimize their political opponents. . . . This relentlessly hostile rhetoric has become standard issue on the right.”

Unnamed "veteran Democratic operative" on Politico giving advice to the Left, specifically the White House:
"They need to deftly pin this on the tea partiers." "Just like the Clinton White House deftly pinned the Oklahoma City bombing on the militia and anti-government people."

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, with no information on the shooter:
Look, we have extremists in my country. A wonderful, incredibly brave young woman Congress member, Congresswoman Giffords, was just shot by an extremist in our country. We have the same kinds of problems. So rather than standing off from each other, we should work to try to prevent the extremists anywhere from being able to commit violence.
The extremists and their voices, the crazy voices that sometimes get on the TV, that's not who we are, that's not who you are, and what we have to do is get through that and make it clear that that doesn't represent either American or Arab ideas or opinions.
Really, comparing extremists in this country with Islamofacist terrorists, when an extremist to the Dems and other Statists is anyone who disagrees with them. Any speech critical of them is by definition, to their ears, extremist hate speech.

Then there’s the knucklehead Sheriff Clarence Dupnik of Pima Country that right at the beginning was laying this tragedy at the feet of Conservatives, and specifically laid it at the feet of Rush Limbaugh today:
"The kind of rhetoric that flows from people like Rush Limbaugh, in my judgment he is irresponsible, uses partial information, sometimes wrong information," "Limbaugh attacks people, angers them against government, angers them against elected officials and that kind of behavior in my opinion is not without consequences."
Here’s a vid of the sheriff saying the political climate is the cause of the tragedy. He’s a Democrat by the way.

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvc_7Fb5T5M

This murderer went berserk, as have many others in the past, but now someone does something horrific like this, it’s Conservatives fault, Rush Limbaugh’s fault, Hillary’s Vast Right Wing Conspiracy’s fault, George Bush’s fault, no nevermind that there is never ever any evidence of it.

The Left must look to itself and not project its own hatred and intolerance onto others, and not turn death, loss, and tragedy into an opportunity to gain political points. Obama (former) Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel: "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

This is their credo; not fairness, tolerance, understanding, compassion or love. It’s power, submission to the State, political correctness.

Huck Finn Gutted by PC

Revising past literary works to fit modern PC sensibilities is just stupid and crass. This comes up because NewSouth Books is publishing a revised version of Mark Twain’s masterpiece The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, removing the “N” word and replacing it with the word “slave”.

Doing that removes all meaning of the relationship between the races at the time the novel reflects. What would this precedent do to all lit or art? Tom Bowdler tried this with Shakespeare in the 19th century, wanting to make those writings more acceptable to his time; thus the word “bowdlerize” (Verb: Remove material that is considered improper or offensive from [a text or account], esp. with the result that it becomes weaker or less effective: "a bowdlerized version of the story".)  Isn’t this a weird inversion, a reflection of the upside down world we live in when there was more literary freedom in Shakespeare’s and Twain’s time that we have now?

The reason the editor, Dr. Alan Gribben, decided this was the track to take, was because he found out some teachers were refusing to teach the book because of the use of the “N” word. Good grief. Those teachers should have their credentials taken away. Teaching has been mostly reduced to indoctrination, and we need to stop it, and this would be a good place to start. Something else that’s been going on with this novel is that often teachers have parents sign a consent note allowing the student to read it. Not only are schools handing out prophylactics for sexual activity, they’re handing out intellectual prophylactics.

Would a modern writer of an historical novel of those times be able to use the “N” word? I think not. Are we reverting back to a time when D H Lawrence or Henry Miller will be removed or edited?

These knuckleheads have also removed the word “injun” from Huckleberry Finn. Really?

What’s the endgame for these people? Historical revisionism? Whether or not it’s intentional, that’ll be the outcome if such like minded editors are allowed to continue and let this horrid idea expand into all lit and art.

Let’s hope that no one buys this edition, especially our PC school systems.

Gay Obama, Murder and Police Dept Cover Up

Certainly untrue, but too wild to pass up. This is from a blog last summer I came across about Obama being gay and belonging to a gay men’s club; as stupid as the tabloid I saw at the checkout that Sarah Palin was a secret lesbian.

The men’s club is, or was, named Man’s Country and Barry had sexual relations there, and has had sex with some named people, Donald Young, gay choir-director of the church in Chicago of which Obama was a member, Trinity United Church of Christ, and a cocaine/sex party with a guy named Larry Sinclair. Plus there were apparently several trysts with a few men in Washington DCRahm Emanuel was supposed to be a lifetime member of the men's club too.

There were, according to this post, two other men at the church the Obama’s attended, Larry Bland and Nate Spencer that Barry had sex with. It turns out all three men are dead within a couple months of Obama’s nomination to the presidency by the Democrat Party. Now the mother of Donald Young has come out accusing the Prez and Dems of murdering her son and the Chicago police department is helping cover it up.

Now there’s a bunch of lawsuits going on of course, and by some serious law firms. Just a weird story, tabloid or not. Full story here

Changin' of the Speakers

A Small Step in the Right Direction

A step in the right direction. Ever since Islamofacists began their most recent open attack on Christians, the wholesale murder and slaughter, not much has been said by the Muslim community about it and it's even been cheered. Not much has been done or said by the Muslim community about the murder of any people by Islamofacist terrorists.

We were heartened then to note when this past Thursday in Egypt, Coptic Christian’s Christmas Eve and the Christian holy day of Epiphany, thousands of Muslims showed up to form a human shield to protect Coptics attending Mass. This follows the mass murder by Islamofacists of Christians attending service Christmas Eve in Alexandria when 21 innocent people were slaughtered and many more injured. Great post here by Rob at the “Windrose Hotel” blog about the event and world reaction to it.

We would like to see more Muslims engage like this, and by imprisoning and killing the haters and terrorists in their midst. We currently have dictatorships in Russia, China, Cuba, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and several South American and African countries threatening world stability and peace and they are complicit in these murders of Christians. Secular Statist dictatorships have a vested interest in suppressing and oppressing Christians because Christians are the only defense against communism and fascism. It is why Christians have become the most persecuted group on the planet. Hitler, Lenin, Stalin and Mao all saw Christianity as a threat to their rule, and is why they enforced atheism in their governments.

We pray the Muslim community takes the next step forward from their protecting of the Coptics, and not a step back. That’s a deadly dance that imperils freedom for everyone.

Face Off: Ted Nugent vs Rosanne Barr

About 5 min into:

NUGENT: The Tea Party is about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

BARR: Telling rich people what they want to hear is not good for Americans.

NUGENT: That’s not what the Tea Party is about at all, not even close. You couldn’t be more wrong about that. Tea Party is about working hard, playing hard, simple families going: Be accountable. What are you doing with our money? Who said you can spend on that crap? Who said you can pay people to stay home? Who said you can pay people not to work and not be productive? If you’re not productive, you get no money. How’s that sound?

BARR: That sounds like you’re blaming the victim. Sounds like you’re blaming the poor people.

NUGENT: Victim?

BARR: Yes.

NUGENT: What, victims of sleeping in?

BARR: Yeah, I think you’re blaming the victim. I think it’s just a big fat con, and you work for the richest guys in the world. All you Tea Party spokespeople, you work for the Koch brothers and they’re like billionaires.

NUGENT: I’m just a deer hunter. I don’t know what you’re talking about.

BARR: No, but you’re working for the wrong people, brother.

NUGENT: I work for myself. I work for myself, and all my buddies work for themselves. They work and they expect to have something left and not give it to people who didn’t earn it. Real simple.

BARR: Who? Like Dick Cheney?

NUGENT: Mao Tse Tung didn’t work then. Mao Tse Tung isn’t going to work today.

BARR: Dick Cheney didn’t, Dick Cheney didn’t earn one damn thing. Guy’s never worked an honest day in his life.

NUGENT: Who’s this?

BARR: Dick Cheney. He’s never worked an honest day in his life.

NUGENT: Oh, you got to be kidding me.

BARR: Are you kidding me?

NUGENT: Give me, give me Barack Obama’s resume.

BARR: You talk about people working for their money?

NUGENT: Show me all his jobs that he’s had. Show me a product that Barack Obama ever produced. Show me one. Time’s up.

CORNELL BELCHER, DEMOCRATIC STRATEGIST: Well, actually, Ted, he did start actually working for the churches in Southside Chicago.

NUGENT: Where’s the product?

BELCHER: Well, the product is actually helping people, but to get back to what-

BARR: Thank you.

NUGENT: Chicago people don’t look very helped to me. It looks like a tragedy.

BELCHER: Well, you got to-

NUGENT: Did he help Cabrini Green? Was that one of his projects?

BELCHER: Well, you got to keep trying to help people. I mean-

BARR: Yeah, you know-

NUGENT: No, you can’t, no. You need to try to help people by scolding them to help themselves. If you keep rewarding them-

BARR: I’m scolding you because you’re full of it. I’m scolding you.

NUGENT: If you keep rewarding them for sleeping in, then they’ll never get out of slavery. Why would you support slavery?

BARR: I’m solving you because you’re blaming the people at the bottom who have nothing whatsoever to do with it.

NUGENT: I’m blaming people who refuse to be productive.

BARR: Why don’t you blame the people who have the blame? Why don’t you ever put the blame-

NUGENT: What, do you want to blame the people who have jobs and that produce things?

BARR: I want to blame the Koch brothers and the billionaires and all the people who robbed the taxpayers of this country, absolutely.

Isn't it amazing TEA Party people are being duped for believing in limited government and low taxes, that they must be of low intelligence for that to happen? Does Barr put her money where her mouth is? Does she take her tax deductions? Does she give the government more in taxes than she's required to? Does she live in a humble house? People that believe in personal responsibility and taking care of one's own and personal involvement in the community is being a dupe for the rich? 47% of the population isn't paying taxes, being supported by the rest of us that are bustin' our butts, middle class or more in income.

A Cowboy Named Bud

A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote mountainous pasture in California when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust.

The driver, a young man in a Brioni suit, Gucci shoes, RayBan sunglasses and YSL tie, leaned out the window and asked the cowboy, "If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, Will you give me a calf?"

Bud looks at the man, obviously a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, "Sure, Why not?"

The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell notebook computer, connects it to his Cingular RAZR V3 cell phone, and surfs to a NASA page on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo.

The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg , Germany .

Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot that the image has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses an MS-SQL database through an ODBC connected Excel spreadsheet with email on his Blackberry and, after a few minutes, receives a response.

Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet printer, turns to the cowboy and says, "You have exactly 1,586 cows and calves."

"That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of my calves," says Bud.

He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car.

Then Bud says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my calf?"

The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, "Okay, why not?"

"You're a Congressman for the U.S. Government", says Bud.

"Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, "but how did you guess that?"

"No guessing required." answered the cowboy. "You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked. You used millions of dollars worth of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and you don't know a thing about how working people make a living - or about cows, for that matter.  This is a herd of sheep. .

Now give me back my dog.

Epiphany and Letting Its Message Inform Us This Coming Year

May God and His angels watch over us all this coming year. May we walk in obedience to Christ in Faith.

“It’s a highway to heaven! None can walk up there but the pure in heart. I am walking up the King’s Highway. If you’re not walking start while I’m talking. There’ll be a blessing you’ll be possessing, walking up the King’s Highway. “

Traditional Epiphany is January 6, but we celebrate this Sunday, tomorrow.

It centers on the visiting of the Magi to the baby Jesus. Epiphany is from the Greek from Koine Greek () πιφάνεια, epiphaneia "appearance", "manifestation", and this is when God manifests as human. So amazing that God enters his own creation. We know the story of them, their travels, meeting with Herod. We don’t know how many of them there were.

When they find baby Jesus, they prostrate themselves. At the time such a thing was a religious exercise, and I can’t help but notice they had to know that this was God incarnate or they wouldn’t have done such a thing. The three gifts they brought carry such a profound message.

Gold represents our possessions. They give this, a symbol of our own laying of our possessions with God. Frankincense is the symbol of prayer and worship, and we should do this at all times; keep His name on our lips. Myrrh was a burial ointment. Jesus will die for us later in this story, and so we must let ourselves die to Him, and have His spirit dwell fully in us, and inform us in all we say and do.

By giving our possessions into His keeping and trusting Him, by praising Him and worshiping Him constantly (I repeat the ‘Jesus Prayer’ as often as I’m mindful), and surrendering ourselves to Him completely, then we will live better lives, others will live better lives as a result of that, and then we’re on the highway to heaven, and maybe, through discipleship, bring some people along.

We'll All Be Chicks

I bought my brother Adam Corolla’s In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks for Christmas. Hilarious stuff, and probably true.

Take the case of the NFL, the No Fun League. Growing up we played football in rain and mud, and if it weren’t the Southwest desert I lived in, would have played in sleet and snow. We grew up watching college and pro-football played in the worst conditions possible. Freezing sleet and snow, a gazillion degrees below zero, foot deep mud, and that was the game; play no matter what. Then came indoor football on fake turf. We all bemoaned that.

This past Sunday I turned on the game at 5 PM, and it was canceled due to snow. WTF!?!?!? A football game? It was expected to snow a whole 11 inches! Oh well then, lets all go home and get in our snuggles! The Minnesota Vikings can’t play in a snow storm any more? I appreciate the skill and the pain those great big guys womping on each other experience, but really, what a bunch of wimps. (I’ve done a lot of major dangerous manly stuff so I have the pedigree to call ‘em wimps, I don’t care how big their muscles are.)

Speaking of which, in addition to being ‘fraidy cats, do they know when they make all those booty shakin’ moves after a touchdown how gay they look? Just shut up gay people, you know what I mean.

Fans in Green Bay sit in what? Screamin’ ice storms! Horizontal snow! So freakin' cold the thermometers shiver. The fans are tougher than the woosies taking to the field; and they can’t run around and keep the blood flowing.  Bud Grant, who used to coach the Vikings when the NFL had real men, didn’t let his players use hand warmers no matter how cold.

I guess now snuggles should be part of the equipment issue. Good grief.

Hat tip for my tirade. Will Bunch article here

Believing in Impossible Things

"There is no use trying," said Alice, "one can't believe in impossible things."
"I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the queen. "Why, sometimes I've believed six impossible things before breakfast."    "Alice in Wonderland"

To believe in Obama's America, it's good to be a queen. You must be prepared to believe impossible things.

You must believe that Obama's indefinite detention of terrorists at Gitmo is different than Bush's indefinite detention of terrorists at Gitmo.

You must believe that Obama is committed to border security even though he sued Arizona when that state wanted to actually enforce the federal laws on immigration.

You must believe that openly homosexual U.S. soldiers will win the war with radical Islam when Islamic Shariah law punishes open homosexuality with death.

You must believe that "tolerance" demands your approval of a triumphal mosque at Ground Zero, but respect for "diversity" requires you to understand why Muslims were so offended by a Christian church near Baghdad they killed 68 parishioners attending mass.

You must believe that you are safer on an airplane flight from radical Muslim terrorists if the TSA can take your nude X-ray picture and/or grope your genitalia.

You must believe that FCC restrictions on the Internet will enhance free speech.

You must believe that Sarah Palin is a nutcase for talking about "death panels" in Obamacare when everyone at the New York Times knows that no such thing exists. You must also believe the New York Times article last week describing limitations on "end of life care" in Obamacare and not see the contradiction.

You must believe that the antidote to an economic recession caused by too much debt – is more debt.

You must believe that America gets stronger by borrowing from the Chinese.

You must believe that leaking 250,000 secret papers from the U.S. Departments of Defense and State promotes transparency and accountability, but that revealing Obama's birth records, college transcripts and college financial aid sources would not.

God is a Republican and Santa Claus is a Democrat

I have only one firm belief about the American political system, and that is this: God is a Republican and Santa Claus is a Democrat.

God is an elderly or, at any rate, middle aged male, a stern fellow, patriarchal rather than paternal and a great believer in rules and regulations. He holds men accountable for their actions. He has little apparent concern for the material well being of the disadvantaged. He is politically connected, socially powerful and holds the mortgage on literally everything in the world. God is difficult. God is unsentimental. It is very hard to get into God's heavenly country club.

Santa Claus is another matter. He's cute. He's nonthreatening. He's always cheerful. And he loves animals. He may know who's been naughty and who's been nice, but he never does anything about it. He gives everyone everything they want without the thought of quid pro quo. He works hard for charities, and he's famously generous to the poor. Santa Claus is preferable to God in every way but one: There is no such thing as Santa Claus

Ronald Reagan Christmas Address (12/23/81)

The Christmas Pageant

THE CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

My husband and I had been happily married (most of the time)
for five years
but hadn't been blessed with a baby.

I decided to do some serious
praying and promised God
that if he would give us a
   child,
I would be a perfect mother,
love it with  all my heart
and raise it with His word
as my guide.

God answered my prayers
and blessed us with a son.
The next year God blessed us
with another son.

The following year,
He blessed us with
 yet another son.

The year after that we
were blessed with a daughter.

My husband thought we'd
been blessed right into poverty.
We now had four children,
and the oldest was only
four years old.

I learned never to ask God
for anything unless I meant it
As a minister once told me,
"If you pray for rain,
make sure you carry an umbrella."

I began reading a few verses
of the Bible to the children
each day as they lay in their cribs..

I was off to a good start.
God had entrusted me
with four children and
I didn't want to disappoint Him.

I tried to be patient the day
the children smashed
two dozen eggs on
the kitchen floor searching
for baby chicks.

I tried to be understanding...
when they started a hotel for
homeless frogs in the spare bedroom, although it took me nearly two hours
to catch all twenty-three frogs
.

When my daughter poured
ketchup all over herself and
rolled up in a blanket to see
how it felt to be a hot dog,
I tried to see the humor
rather than the mess..

In spite of changing over
twenty-five thousand diapers,
never eating a hot meal
and never sleeping for more
than thirty minutes at a time,
I still thank God daily for my children.

While I couldn't keep my promise
to be a perfect mother -
I didn't even come close...
I did keep my promise
to raise them in the Word of God.

I knew I was missing the mark
just a little when I told
my daughter we were going
to church to worship God,
and she wanted to bring
a bar of soap along to
"wash up" Jesus, too.

Something was lost
in the translation when
I explained that
God gave us everlasting life,
and my son thought it was
generous of God to give
us his "last wife."

My proudest moment came
during the children's
Christmas pageant.

My daughter was playing Mary,
two of my sons were shepherds
and my youngest son was a wise man.
This was their moment to shine.

My five-year-old shepherd
had practiced his line,
"We found the babe wrapped
in swaddling clothes."

But he was nervous and said,
"The baby was wrapped
in wrinkled clothes."

My four-year-old "Mary" said,
"That's not 'wrinkled clothes,' silly.
That's dirty, rotten clothes."
A wrestling match broke out
between Mary and the shepherd
and was stopped by an angel,
who bent her halo and lost
her left wing.

I slouched a little lower
in my seat when Mary
dropped the doll representing
Baby Jesus, and it bounced
down the aisle crying,
"Mama-mama."

Mary grabbed the doll,
wrapped it back up
and held it tightly as
the wise men arrived.
My other son stepped forward
wearing a bathrobe
and a paper crown,
knelt at the manger
and announced,
"We are the three wise men,
and we are bringing gifts
of gold,
common sense
  and fur."

The congregation
dissolved into laughter,
and the pageant
got a standing ovation.

"I've never enjoyed a Christmas
program as much as this one,"
laughed the pastor,
wiping tears from his eyes
"For the rest of my life,
I'll never hear the
Christmas story without
thinking of
gold,
common sense
and fur."

"My children are my pride
and my joy and my greatest
blessing," I said as I dug
through my purse for an aspirin.

Jesus had no servants,
yet they called Him Master.

Had no degree,
yet they called Him Teacher
.
Had no medicines,
yet they called Him Healer.

Had no army,
yet kings feared Him.

He won no military battles,
yet He conquered the world.
He committed no crime,
yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb,
yet He lives today.

Feel honored
to serve such a Leader
 who loves us.

Christmas Now and Then

This has entered the NPR annual Christmas rotation, beginning in in 2007.

The Secularist bigots at National People's Radio join in the bashing of Christmas and Believers in the Baby Jesus. Of course they are open minded and tolerate people.

The true meaning of Christmas

You Better Not Be Spreadin' Any of That Christmas Cheer

Secularists and Statists working to make everyone as miserable as they are. They impoverish financially by reducing income through fees and taxation, and impoverish joy and happiness with stunts like this.

“The candy canes could be used as weapons by sucking on them and making them have sharp points,” says administrator.

Administrator to parent “…not everyone wants Christmas cheer. That suicide rates are up over Christmas, and that they should keep their cheer to themselves, perhaps.”

This cost the kids detention and they had to pick up the candy canes some of the students dropped.

Mary, Mother of Jesus

A great showing of Mary from a theological perspective. (A little over 10 min, but well worth it.)

Has Church Become Effeminate?

From an article by Doug Giles. Full article here.

Have you ever asked yourself, “Self, why do some churches look more like the bra and panty aisle at Wal-Mart rather than a battalion of men poised to plunder the powers of darkness?”
Certainly, the lack of men in church is not difficult to see.  Just go to church on any given Sunday and count the number of ladies in the pews versus the number of men.  The result?  Well, you’re suddenly slapped in the face with the cheap whiskey-like reality that men are avoiding church like Pelosi avoids reason.
So why do most men avoid church?
Here’s the veneer stripped-away answer: going to church for the majority of men is lame and sports about the same appeal as being asked to go rollerblading with Adam Lambert.  Yep, church, for most men, has not only become irrelevant—it has also become effeminate.  Hanging out in church for most extra-Y chromosomes seems unmanly and most men more than anything wannabe a cowboy.
The current lack of strong men within the Church, both in the numeric and leadership sense, has crippled our churches and has helped devastate our nation.
Some suggestions to bring men back into the church:

Put an end to the Nicer-Than-Christ pastors.
Ditto regarding the worship/music leader.
Lose the Church’s “I’m in therapy for ever” feel.

Merry Christmas from Achmed the Dead Terrorist

Tribute to Captain Beefheart

Captain Beefheart was of the Frank Zappa school of avant garde of rock (if there is such a thing). He recorded from the late 1960's to early 1980's. His name was Don Van Vliet, and he definitely marched to his own drummer. Dead at 69.

RIP

Cool Marching Band

I was in marching band, and did floating formation halftime shows, but nothing this cool.
