Religious Freedom

Though I'm not a Catholic, this vid expresses exactly what Christianity has brought to the world, often through the Catholic Church. Atheists and secularists did not bring us schools, hospitals and charities.

For bringing these good things that have benefited all mankind, Christians are persecuted to death in some places, to being verbally and politically attacked in others.

Here in the US we're told to keep our mouths shut and only speak of religious things in our churches and homes. We are told to keep our religion out of politics. We are told to keep our religion out of the culture. That's because Secularists want power unopposed.

Not going to happen here. I'll witness my Faith wherever I want, whenever I want. I'll bring God into the voting booth. Insult or lie about my religion and I'll go after you as hard as possible.

Dems Using Religion to Attack Opponents

Secularist Leftists continually attack religion, specifically Christians, except when they think using religion can score political points. The results are pretty vile.

In the Kentucky senate race Democrat Jack Conway came out with an ad attacking his Republican opponent Rand Paul for a hazing event that happened when Paul was in college decades ago.

Part the ad:
“Why was Rand Paul a member of a secret society that called the Holy Bible ‘a hoax’ – that was banned for mocking Christianity and Christ?” “Why did Rand Paul once tie a woman up? Tell her to bow down before a false idol and say his God was ‘Aqua Buddha?’
I’ve seen interviews with this Conway character, and he actually believes this is a legitimate campaign issue. Most importantly, a Democrat is using religion (or what he believes to be religion) to attack a political opponent. You can bet if this were a Republican using religion in a like manner it would be attacked by all the “separation of church and state” anti-Christian bigots in the Democrat Party and Jurassic Press.

This second example is especially vile. Democrat Russ Carnahan released a vid through a website “The Real Ed Martin” (Carnahan’s Republican opponent) that tries to link Martin to the pedophilia cover up in the Catholic Church. The vid on this page is direct and vile. Martin has done a lot of volunteer work with the Catholic Church, and apparently Carnahan thinks anyone in the Catholic Church supports and covers up pedophilia. I would suggest this is pretty much the view of most secularists and Dems.

Church and State separation is such a part of the indoctrination of the Left that when Republican senatorial candidate Christine O’Donnell pointed out to her Marxist opponent that the establishment clause in the Constitution does not contain language stating there’s such a separation, her opponent, Chris Coons, derided and mocked her for her lack of knowledge of the Constitution. This was at a law school and the audience jeered at her ignorance. Obviously they are not being taught the Constitution in their Con classes. Of course the secularist bigots of the Jurassic Press sided with the ignorant Marxist and the indoctrinated mindless students.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Nothing in there about separation of church and state, yet even though more than a week has passed, the Jurassic Press and Dems have continued to attack her as stupid and ignorant. Knuckleheads.

Rather than understanding, or even trying to understand Christianity, their intolerance is so bred into them, the only time the Dems bring religion up is to spread lies and attack the Church and Christians. They do support Islam though, and that makes sense because it’s totalitarian too.

“Secretariat”, Book of Job, and Being Open to Love and Life

Before I had seen the movie "Secretariat" I read, then wrote about, a review of the movie here. In it, the reviewer dredged up buckets of hateful gunk. Racism, hatred, anti-traditional American values, inferred rejection of the Christian message of faith and grace. It was just horrible. I remember when I was a Marxist, I had that same sense of the futility of life; of the exceptionalism of America. I had that nihilist view of life that you're born, you suffer, you die.

I was uplifted by this story. It's more about a woman that has strength of character and is willing to take the risks and consequences of that risk, good or bad. She taught and elevated others with that strength. The narration of the story opens quoting from the Book of Job. It's about suffering setback and loss, and how we deal with them.

It's sad the reviewer only saw lies and hatred in this story, that he was moved to experience hatred instead of exaltation. He's of the same mindset that the people that control the "culture", movies, theater, music, news media have, along with the dominate political party. They are blinded by hatred of self and the essence of life. They are cynical about everything, and see this as Truth. The Truth is, life is tough; but there is redemption and grace. When you don't believe in redemption and grace, then you see wonderful uplifting movies as lies and hate.

They see moral people fall short of how they say they want to live and call them hypocrites, while they have only whatever standards are convenient to the moment. People that believe in grace, forgiveness and redemption understand the why of those shortcomings. We are separated from God, and reach out and help one another with that understanding. People that don’t have that reject that message and seem to think there’s a few people or person that have the answers. So they submit to charismatic people, gurus, and politicians. It ends in disaster. The answer is where Job found it, and why Job was the narration at the beginning and end of this movie.

God reveals his omnipotence to Job, and about the horse:
“Have you given the horse strength?
Have you clothed his neck with thunder?
Can you frighten him like a locust?
      His majestic snorting strikes terror.
  He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength;
He gallops into the clash of arms.
  He mocks at fear, and is not frightened;
Nor does he turn back from the sword.
  The quiver rattles against him,
      The glittering spear and javelin.
  He devours the distance with fierceness and rage;
Nor does he come to a halt because the trumpet has sounded.
At the blast of the trumpet he says, ‘Aha!’
He smells the battle from afar,
The thunder of captains and shouting.

We people can’t do that. There’s no small group of people, no one person that can measure up to that. If you do believe that persons or government can do all things, you are doomed to fail. I'm reminded of the story of some scientists calling out God, saying they can create a man just like He did. God says go ahead and show Me. The scientists get some clay, mold it, and energize it, and it becomes a man. God says to them, that's okay, but do it with your own mud.

God asked Job:
“Who is this who darkens counsel
      By words without knowledge?
  Now prepare yourself like a man;
I will question you, and you shall answer Me.
“ Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?
Tell Me, if you have understanding.
  Who determined its measurements?
      Surely you know!
Or who stretched the line upon it?
To what were its foundations fastened?
      Or who laid its cornerstone,
When the morning stars sang together,
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
“Or who shut in the sea with doors,
      When it burst forth and issued from the womb;
When I made the clouds its garment,
      And thick darkness its swaddling band;
When I fixed My limit for it,
      And set bars and doors;
  When I said,

‘This far you may come, but no farther,
And here your proud waves must stop!’
“Have you commanded the morning since your days began,
And caused the dawn to know its place,
That it might take hold of the ends of the earth,
And the wicked be shaken out of it?
It takes on form like clay under a seal,
And stands out like a garment.
From the wicked their light is withheld,
And the upraised arm is broken.
“Have you entered the springs of the sea?
Or have you walked in search of the depths?
Have the gates of death been revealed to you?
Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death?
Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth?
Tell Me, if you know all this.
“ Where is the way to the dwelling of light?
And darkness, where is its place,
That you may take it to its territory,
That you may know the paths to its home?
Do you know it, because you were born then,
Or because the number of your days is great?

We gain wisdom and knowledge, an appreciation of life, when we recognize that they do not come from ourselves or others. They are God’s gift. That gift sustains us. If we don’t recognize that, then we become the nihilist that doesn’t find joy in the message from a movie like “Secretariat” or “Blind Side”. It’s not real to them. They can only see and experience the dark. Without Faith there’s only destruction and sadness.

I took joy in this movie, its message of character, faith, determination, understanding, patience, love and honesty. All these come from God.

That reviewer and others like him are missing out on something incredible. He's missing out on who he is.

PBS, Indoctrination, Stuff and Being Green

Following on the heels of global warming being exposed to be a hoax, PBS is still working to perpetuate the lie. We have a radical Leftist/environmentalist indoctrination cartoon for children named “Loop Scoop”.

It’s produced by Greenpeace activist, Obama supporter, and socialist Annie Leonard. She’s most known for a propaganda series “The Story of Stuff”. It’s all about how we humans are destroying the planet, and if we don’t submit to her ideology and the State we are doomed.

The new show has kids getting a quiz at the beginning, which they fail, and then have things explained to them. “How do you make this pile of garbage smaller in 60 seconds?” “Which is better, fresh-squeezed orange juice or bottled orange juice?” Really, kids want to watch this? If I was a parent, and the kid did something untoward, I’d be saying, “Hey, knock it off or I’ll make you watch “Loop Scoop”.

Each show ends with a moral about how to be Green. Did you know that non- biodegradable containers are “weapons” that are destroying the planet?

This propaganda is being partly funded by the EPA. We have two government agencies producing indoctrination programs. Add to that the education system that socializes and indoctrinates rather than teach. Ignorant kids becoming nothing more than biomass that is obedient to the State.

I Googled Leonard while writing this and her Tweet was running: "...so uptight about toxic chemicals that I buy used furniture so it out-gasses in someone else's house."

We should all be concerned that kids, through TV and video games, government day care and the education system, are becoming slaves to the State. Remember in Orwell’s “1984” kids turning their parents in to Big Brother because they broke some State rule? It’s real enough; there are plenty of stories. The latest act of recognition of the State over the Parent is a kid that dials 911 because Mom was making him eat his veggies. The State would agree with Mom on this because overweight politicians are legislating what we eat, and we're getting lectures from nanny and nag Michelle Obama about eating our veggies while they go stuff themselves on burgers, fries and ice cream.

Then there's “Discovery Kids” having an Islamic indoctrination show, "The 99".

TV is more and more becoming a vehicle for indoctrination than for entertainment and information.

This is being shown in schools:
Truly? The tank is a more appropriate symbol of America. Corporations are evil and rule the government? The purpose of government to to look after people?

The real story of stuff was told by George Carlin.

“Secretariat”, Leni Riefenstahl, and the "Master Race"

That Hollywood is Leftist and Decadent is not in doubt. Even though for years family movies, PG13, PG, and G have outsold by large margins R rated films, they have continuously produced films that carry visuals, messages and ideology that most of the viewing public don’t want. Sales have been down or flat for years, and spike when lesser violent, sexual, anti-American value movies are produced.

We can look at the success of “Blind Side”, “The Book of Eli” and the “Toy Story” franchise. Even Christian themed movies like “Rust”,  “Letters to God” and “Fireproof” are getting more notice and sales. Hollywood Leftists continue to use their art to propagate their cultural and political ideology even at the cost of diminished revenue.

Then there are the critics and movie reviewers that are part of that arts subculture that have a visceral hatred of anything conservative, Christian and traditional. I haven’t seen it yet, but “Secretariat” has revealed the truth of this hatred. “Secretariat” is all about traditional values, merit, and success through striving. This pretty much incensed movie reviewer Andrew O’Hehir of  Leftist “Salon” online magazine.

Remember, this is just a story about a horse. O’Hehir writes:
“I enjoyed it immensely, flat-footed dialogue and implausible situations and all. Which doesn't stop me from believing that in its totality "Secretariat" is a work of creepy, half-hilarious master-race propaganda almost worthy of Leni Riefenstahl, and all the more effective because it presents as a family-friendly yarn about a nice lady and her horse."
Truly? “Master-race propaganda”, Leni Riefenstahl?
“… it uses a "true story" as the foundation for a pop-historical reverie that seems to reference enduring American virtues -- self-reliance, stick-to-it-iveness, etc. -- without encouraging you to think too much about their meaning or context.”
What’s the meaning or context?
“…presenting a honey-dipped fantasy vision of the American past as the Tea Party would like to imagine it, loaded with uplift and glory and scrubbed clean of multiculturalism and social discord. In the world of this movie, strong-willed and independent-minded women like Chenery are ladies first (she's like a classed-up version of Sarah Palin feminism), left-wing activism is an endearing cute phase your kids go through (until they learn the hard truth about inheritance taxes), and all right-thinking Americans are united in their adoration of a Nietzschean Überhorse, a hero so superhuman he isn't human at all.”
Truly? Nietzschean Uberhorsse? Of course what’s a Leftist article without bashing Sarah Palin? Speaking of multiculturalism, check out pics of the Emmys or Academy Awards. All white faces. Using the Leftist’s measuring stick, these awards shows must be racist.

More from the Nietzschean Uburleftest:
“…it’s legitimate to wonder exactly what Christian-friendly and "middle-American" inspirational values are being conveyed here, or whether they're just providing cover for some fairly ordinary right-wing ideology and xenophobia. This long-suffering female Job overcomes such tremendous obstacles as having been born white and Southern and possessed of impressive wealth and property, and who then lucks into owning a genetic freak who turned out to be faster and stronger than any racehorse ever foaled. And guess what? She triumphs anyway!”
Truly? Right wing ideology and xenophobia? From a bio-pic about a horse?  The horse itself is “symbolic window dressing for a quasi-inspirational fantasia of American whiteness and power”.

This is how Hollywood, and most movie reviewers think.

Full article by Andrew O’Hehir here. Oh, and the title? "’Secretariat": A gorgeous, creepy American myth”. “Diane Lane shines in a Tea Party-flavored, Christian-friendly yarn about one big horse and our nation's past.” Yeah, those creepy rubes in flyover country that believes in and live by traditional American values.

Since writing this I've seen "Secretariat". My thoughts here.

"Heavenly Day" - Patty Griffin

More Hate and Lies from the Racist NAACP

“We must vote on Nov. 2, like our lives depended on it — because it does. The Republican Party has been hijacked by dangerous, radical hatemongers called the “tea party.” They are led by Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin. Their only goal is to take down President Obama and the government. In any Third World country this would be called a “coup d’état.” In America we fight coups at the ballot box. These people seem to hate blacks, Latinos, Muslims and have at times made many anti-Semitic statements. They hate gays and any moderate Republican who might be likely to cooperate with Obama.
“Their rallying cry? “We want to take back our country back. Take it back from whom? American soil is still wet with the blood of our ancestors who fought for our right to vote. And vote we must. Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians and Independents must vote against the tea party take over.”— Al Tillman -  Macon NAACP president
This racist letter is from the racist NAACP, the National Association for the Advancement of (Liberal) Colored People.

I heard an interview today on the Laura Ingraham program with NAACP Senior VP Hilary Shelton. He said the TEA Party movement without a doubt was a racist movement. He had nothing to back it up.

The racist NAACP has recently released a study to prove the TEA Party movement was racist, and was referred to by Shelton in the interview with Ingraham.

The “study” was done by the far Left extremist group Institute for Research and Education on Human Rights. The NAA(L)CP states this study proves the TEA Party:
“…have given platform to anti-Semites, racists and bigots.” They also claim the TEA Party has attracted white nationalists looking for recruits.
“The Tea Party movement has unleashed a still inchoate political movement who are in their numerical majority, angry middle-class white people who believe their country, their nation, has been taken from them.”
These knuckleheads brought up that old disproven event Representative John Lewis, having racial epithets yelled at him and spat upon. It’s been proven never to have happened.

The president of the North Carolina NAACP chapter, Rev. William Barber, has said TEA Partiers are like the racists during Reconstruction after the Civil War and assassins during the Civil Rights movement. We might want to point out here that the KKK was all Democrats, and were the racist terrorist arm of the Democrat Party.

Added to all this, Obama is running campaign ads on Black only radio stations. There are 14 Black Republicans that are running for office, not supported by the NAACP or the Congressional Black Caucus. Sure glad we live in a post racial society.

Yet More State Supported anti-Christian Bigotry

Yet another intolerant anti-Christian bigot gets support from the State.

A woman posted on the bulletin board at her church that she was looking for a Christian roommate. The intolerant bigot, name protected by the State, filed the complaint which the Michigan Department of Civil Rights received by way of a private organization, the Fair Housing Center of West Michigan. The Civil Rights document was signed by Tyra Khan, a "Civil Rights Representative".

The State’s argument that this solicitation of a roommate of a particular faith is in violation of  section 604C, that it’s a "violation to make, print or publish or cause to be made, printed or published any notice, statement or advertisement with respect to the sale or rental of a dwelling that indicates any preference" .

Alliance Defense Fund is representing the woman charged in the complaint. The ADL representative, Joel Oster: "[Tricia] is a single lady looking for a roommate. She is not a landlord. She does not own a management company. She does not run an apartment complex. She is a single person seeking to have a roommate live with her in her house."
"She is not prohibited by either federal law or state law from seeking a Christian roommate. Neither Title VII of the US Fair Housing Civil Rights Act of 1968 nor the Elliot Larsen Civil Rights Act No. 453 prevents a woman like her from seeking a Christian roommate." This is from a letter the ADL sent to the State, noting these 'acts' do not apply to people wanting to share their own resources.

This woman being discriminated against by the State because of  her faith must now provide all documents regarding her agent, all her property management documentation, a list of her tenants, a copy of her anti-discrimination policy (whatever that is), and some other stuff. From the “civil rights” department charge: "You must preserve all records relevant to this complaint until final disposition is issued by the department and until litigation and all appeals are concluded. Relevant records, would, for example, include records relating to the aggrieved person and all persons similarly situated."

What was this anti-Christian bigot doing in that church? Why is this coward hiding behind the State and not disclosing who she is?

Truly, do we want the government going inside of churches to ensure they are complying with some vapid weak interpretation of the law to enforce their bigotry? Do you truly want the State to dictate your personal criteria for a roommate?

A Dialog Between Dems and Americans

AMERICANS: “So, the economy is pretty bad and there’s high employment. You think you can do something about that?”
DEMOCRATS AND OBAMA: “We can spend a trillion dollars we don’t have on pork and stuff.”
AMERICANS: “No … that’s not what we want. We’d really like you not to do that.”
DEMOCRATS: “You’re stupid. We’re doing it anyway.”
AMERICANS: “That’s not going to help us get jobs!”
DEMOCRATS: “Sure it will; millions of them … though they may be invisible. You’ll have to trust us they exist. And guess what else we’ll do: We’ll create a giant new government program to take over health care.”
AMERICANS: “That has nothing to do with jobs!”
DEMOCRATS: “We don’t care about that anymore. We really want a giant new health care program. We’re sure you’ll love it.”
AMERICANS: “Don’t pass that bill. You hear me? Absolutely do not pass that bill.”
DEMOCRATS: “Believe me; you’ll love it. It has … well, I don’t know what exactly is in the bill, but we’re sure it’s great.”
AMERICANS: “Listen to me: DO. NOT. PASS. THAT. BILL.”
DEMOCRATS: “You’re not the boss of me! We’re doing it anyway!”
AMERICANS: “Look what you did! Now the economy is way worse, we’re even deeper in debt, and we have a bunch of new laws we don’t want!”
DEMOCRATS: “You’re racist.”
AMERICANS: “Wha … How is that racist?”
DEMOCRATS: “Now you’re getting violent! Stop being violent and racist, you ignorant hillbillies! And remember to vote Democrat in November.”
If you're not onto Pajamas Media yet, ya gotta!

"Sons of Anarchy": Bikers and Hamlet

Last weekend I started watching on DVD the series “Son’s of Anarchy”. Bikers as a tribe. Outlaws. Violence. Outlaws in the sense that they make their own law, and have decided to not to obey the laws of the State; only the laws of the group. There’s the psychology too of the relationships and the dynamics of the group. The creator of the show, Kurt Sutter, said the structure of the show is “Hamlet”. Hamlet, now the character of “Jax”, reads from his father’s journal rather than listening to his father's ghost. In Hamlet, his mother marries the king, in “Son’s of Anarchy”, Jax’s mother marries the president of the club. We’ll leave the rest of the parallels, but it’s sure fun to connect them.

This is a smart series. Jax reads from his father’s diary:
“Anarchism…stands for liberation of the human mind from the dominion of religion: the liberation of the human body from the dominion of property; liberation from shackles and restraint of government. It stands for social order based on the free grouping of individuals.”
“The concept was pure, simple, true. It inspired me, lit a rebellious fire. But ultimately I learned the lesson the Goldman, Proudhon, and the others learned: that true freedom requires sacrifice and pain. Most human beings only think they want freedom. In truth, they yearn for the bondage of social order, rigid laws, materialism. The only freedom man really wants is the freedom to become comfortable.”
The Goldman Jax's father is talking about is Emma Goldman. Jax's father had written:
"First time I read Emma Goldman wasn't in a book. I was sixteen, hiking near the Nevada border. The quote was painted on a wall in red. When I saw those words it was like someone ripped them from the inside of my heard."
There’s lots of morality bending at play here. There are bad guys in positions where good guys should be; where what we would view as immorality is the moral thing. Where when the law breaks down, the outlaw brings justice.  Where the tribe trumps the State. When everything of self is invested in the tribe. When your friends are only in the tribe.

This is a thoughtful, literary expression of groups and relationships, mixed with harshness and brutality. The mix creates a brilliant and complex story.

Apostle Paul: His Life and Writings From an Ancient, Not Modern Perspective

The writings of the Apostle Paul are the dividing point between the pagan world and the modern world. I have met many saying the pagan world is more desirable than the modern western world. These same people claim to be about equality, anti-slavery, women’s freedom, and a whole host of other behaviors they hold dear.

None of those things existed in the pagan world. It was a brutal world of slavery, pedophilia, rape as acceptable behavior, no romantic love, no individual liberty for the common man, and women’s only purpose was sexual gratification and to have babies. The babies had to be healthy, and of the gender desired, or were left outside the city to die.

In a book by Sarah Ruden, Paul Among the People, The Apostle Reinterpreted and Reimagined in His Own Time, Ruden uses the literature of the time to recreate the world that existed at the time he wrote. I had, like many Christians, some problems with some things he wrote, especially about homosexuality, women, and marriage. I came away with a much better understanding of the times and his writing.

Our view of history is usually tempocentric, looking back in time through our modern sensibilities.

When Paul was writing about homosexuality, he was writing about something quite different from the consensual sex we think of now. To the ancient mind, there really was no identification of homosexual persons, and what Paul was addressing was heterosexual persons engaging in homosexual sex. Most of the world’s population were slaves, and what Paul saw happening were men engaging in sex with little boys. Ruden, who reads and translates the ancient writers in their own language, writes that such behavior was perfectly acceptable, but not among the Jews. Masculinity was shown by sexually exploiting little boys. When Paul writes about homosexuality, this is what his concern was; the rape and exploitation, the de-humanizing of others.

Women were barely recognized as human; really there was no word at that time of the equivalent of ‘woman’. There were just terms for them according to class or status, such as ‘female slave’, ‘lady’, ‘matron’. Paul seems to adhere to this when he writes that women should be covered and not speak in the church. Women at the time were not to speak in public assemblies, and a truer translation of what Paul wrote, is from the Greek word “ekkleisa”, which is a male only public assembly. Paul also wrote that women prayed and prophesied in these gatherings. In the pagan world that simply wasn’t allowed; that it was allowed in the early church is revolutionary. He wrote too that women should be veiled, and this is seen as demeaning though our modern eyes. What it meant then was the distinction between a married or widowed woman (veiled) and a slave or prostitute (unveiled). Ruden points out Paul's wanting all Christian women to be covered made them all equal, regardless of their past or status.

Paul revolutionized romantic love and marriage. His writings broke the barrier down regarding arranged marriage; essentially sexual enslavement. Once again, like he did with homosexual pedophilia, this was about equality and breaking the bonds of slavery. He did the same with adultery. He uses the word “porneia” for sexual immorality. In marriage, he writes, sexual activity outside marriage, for both the man and the woman, is an act to be loathed. He was about relationships, that becoming one flesh, happiness could be achieved, and spiritual life could expand beyond anything conceived before. Love is selfless, something not even on the radar before Paul.

There is much in this rich book, and I highly recommend it if you’re at all interested in understanding ancient times and Paul’s epistles. (It’s in my Amazon widget of recommended books in the right hand column.)  What did Paul mean when writing about submitting to government authorities, when at the same time was spending so much time in jail because of his so often rebelling against the State? Ruden addresses a lot of issues that are seemingly at odds with what we think of when we think of Christianity. This book increased my knowledge and my faith.

Autumn

Waking up this morning I felt the first chill of an autumn morning this year. It  comes late in the desert, especially this year. Feeling this, I was reminded of one of my favorite songs, "Autumn Leaves". The lyrics were written by poet Jacques Prévert and the music by Joseph Kosma and introduced introduced as "Les feuilles mortes" (“The Dead Leaves”) in 1946 in the film “Les Portes de la Nuit”. Johnny Mercer wrote the English lyrics in 1947, and since performed by so many. These two performances recognized as arguably the best arrangements.

Muslim Dances on Altar

Muslim dancer on altar

A Muslim, from Somalia according to reports, jumped up on the altar of The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, Florence, Italy, and danced. It took a long time to build this place. Construction began in 1296 and it was completed in 1436.

I think of all the damage done to Christian places of worship. I remember how outraged I was when Islamofacists occupied and trashed The Church of the Nativity in May of 2002. For those not knowing the import of this place, it’s traditionally where the baby Jesus was born. I didn’t hear much condemnation from the Christian community. There’s an ongoing history of disrespect of places of worship of Jews and Christians. They, on the other hand, shoot people from mosques and say no one can shoot back because mosques are holy ground.

This guy dances on an altar. No outrage. If a Christian or Jew, or anyone else for that matter, did such a thing in a mosque, he’d be dead.

Yet we are to respect these one way people.

Christians mostly just pray for such misguided souls. Doesn't seem much of a choice. Get insulted, pray for the insulter, or insulted and kill the insulter.

Vid of full incident here

Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?

If you’re a Conservative, or worse yet Christian and Conservative, you are by definition sexist, racist, bigoted, narrow minded, and homophobic. Added to this vacuous charge, if you dare criticize anything Islam, Islamophobic.

There’s plenty of examples of this. There was Time magazine’s “Is America Islamophobic”? Of course they are, is the conclusion (while denying it’s their conclusion). Bobby Ghosh, who wrote the hit piece on regular mainstream American people, was brought on CNN to bring his intolerance and unfounded accusations to the small screen to be seen by the small minds that watch CNN. Ghosh has stated that criticism of the building of the Mosque of Triumph in New York City is hate speech.
Ghosh from the CNN soft ball interview:
“You don't have to be an Islamophobe to have reservations about this particular project. You don't have to be prejudiced to have very genuine concerns about it. But what we have seen in the process of this debate and about mosques- not just here in New York, but all over this country- is that there has been a vicious- some very vicious hate speech has entered the mainstream of discussion in this country, and that is- certainly, we are seeing some Islamophobic views being expressed by people who we wouldn't have expected it from- when you have legitimate political figures comparing the religion of Islam to Naziism. That is something on a scale that we have never seen before.”
Of course he doesn't provide any data to support the claim. He's a Leftist, so you just have to accept what he says as true.

The Washington Post’s religion writer, Michelle Boorstein, in a September article, alleged that most Americans know very little about Islam. Her inferred conclusion is that ignorance breeds the growing Islamophobia in America, and smarter more nuanced thinking people aren’t Islamophobic. Of course, you can only be smart and nuanced if you’re a Liberal.

Then there’s the ABC News Sunday morning talk show disaster Christiane Amanpour, who finds America distasteful at best, is an apologist for Islamic terror, murder and violence. She’s a nuanced thinking Leftist, so gets a pass.

“Time” magazine editor Time Editor Richard Stengel has often said that America is Islamophobic because we’re all a bunch of ignorant idiots. Stengal:  "I mean, the extent of the ignorance- where you parse Islamophobia versus ignorance of Islam, I'm not exactly sure. But there is tremendous ignorance of Islam as a religion."  I agree with only a portion of that statement, and will identify his ignorance of Islam as a religion.

Then there’s Chris Matthews. Nevermind.

None of these people have criticized Islam. The comedy channel pulled a South Park episode for having a satirical bit about Mohammed. Several cartoons have been pulled that had Mohammed in them. No comedians are making fun of Islam and Sharia Law. Of course Jesus and Christianity are fair game ad nauseam.

We live in an upside down, inside out world, Phobia is a fear of something. Lots of people that criticize Islam are called out for being fearful of Muslims, of Islam. They’re Islamophobic. Yet they are the ones with the courage to speak, stand up to, and criticize.

The people doing the name calling are afraid to criticize Muslims, or Sharia, or draw cartoons of Mohammed, or do comedy skits containing Mohammed. They don’t do these things out of fear.

I’ve got to ask. Who’s the Islamophobes?

"Make Mine Freedom" ~ 1948

Lessons in free minds and free markets

Theme Rock Show w/ Rudy Sarzo & Paul Dexter 08/11/10

This is a podcast of an interview with my brother, Paul Dexter, and Rudy Sarzo. Paul has been the lighting and production manager for Dio, Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, Elton John, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, and REO Speedwagon to name a few. He's currently with REO. Rudy Sarzo has played bass with Blue Oyster Cult, Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, White Snake, and Quiet Riot.

This interview, though long, provides great insight into what it takes to put on a rock concert. Stage and light design, and how it's developed since the 1970's.

At the end he mentions the dragon. Not shown here sadly, but this was a huge production. It had a huge fire breathing dragon that rose from the back of the stage, and two sphinx style lions with moving heads and laser shooting eyes. Theater rock at its best. Paul was the designer.

On my blog links in the right column are the links to my brother's companies, but the Masterworks link there are great slideshows of concerts and what's being done with lights and stage in rock and roll concerts.

Heaven and Hell

While walking down the street one day
a Corrupt Senator was tragically hit
                 by a car and died.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met
by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter.
"Before you settle in, it seems there
is a problem. We seldom see a high
official around these parts, you see,
so we're not sure what to do with
                 you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the
                 Senator..

"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders
from the higher ups. What we'll do is
have you spend one day in hell and one
in heaven. Then you can choose where
                 to spend eternity."

"Really?, I've made up my mind. I want
to be in heaven," says the Senator.

"I'm sorry, but we have our rules."

And with that, St. Peter escorts him
to the elevator and he goes down,
                 down, down to hell.

The doors open and he finds himself in
the middle of a green golf course. In
the distance is a clubhouse and
standing in front of it are all his
friends and other politicians who had
                 worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening
dress. They run to greet him, shake
his hand, and reminisce about the good
times they had while getting rich at
the expense of the people. They played
a friendly game of golf and then dine
on lobster, caviar and the finest
                 champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really
is a very friendly guy who is having a
good time dancing and telling jokes.

They are all having such a good time
that before the Senator realizes it,
                 it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell
and waves while the elevator rises...

The elevator goes up, up, up and the
door reopens in heaven where St. Peter
is waiting for him, "Now it's time to
                 visit heaven.."

So, 24 hours passed with the Senator
joining a group of contented souls
moving from cloud to cloud, playing
the harp and singing. They have a good
time and, before he realizes it, the
24 hours have gone by and St. Peter
                 returns.

"Well, then, you've spent a day in
hell and another in heaven. Now choose
                 your eternity."

The Senator reflects for a minute,
then he answers: "Well, I would never
have said it before, I mean heaven has
been delightful, but I think I would
                 be better off in hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the
elevator and he goes down, down, down
                 to hell..

Now the doors of the elevator open and
he's in the middle of a barren land
covered with waste and garbage. He
sees all his friends, dressed in rags,
picking up the trash and putting it in
black bags as more trash falls from
                 above.

The devil comes over to him and puts
                 his arm around his shoulders.

                 "I don't understand," stammers the
Senator. "Yesterday I was here and
there was a golf course and clubhouse,
and we ate lobster and caviar, drank
champagne, and danced and had a great
time. Now there's just a wasteland
full of garbage and my friends look
                 miserable. What happened?"
The devil smiles at him and says,
                 "Yesterday we were campaigning, Today,
                 you voted.."

Vote wisely on November 2, 2010

Islamofacist Cartoons Come to the America

Can you imagine a kid’s super hero series where the super hero’s were Jews and Christians fighting bad guys while promoting Judaic Christian values and beliefs? One could safely bet the secularist, anti-Christian, anti-Semitic Leftists would be having a hissy fit.

Have you even heard that there was a super hero show slated to start this week on “The Hub” which used to be known as “Discovery Kids”? The show is called “The 99”, and has Islamic super heroes. There are 99 of these “heroes”, each embodying an attribute of Allah. It’s an extremely popular show in Islamofacist countries. Burkas, not capes and leotards are the costumes of the day.

This program has passed some sort of Sharia Law board as acceptable fare. I suppose it meets the criteria of acceptable Islamofacism.

There’s also a move to make toys of these characters.

All of this is designed to indoctrinate children into Islam.

President Obama has signed on, and endorses this.

Give my Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, and Bugs Bunny.

Or Christian super heroes, Faith, Hope, Salvation, Charity, Forgiveness. Bet those wouldn't even get consideration.

There has been some push back on this, so the show's launch has been delayed until January. "Production issues" of course. Let's hope the push back is never-ending..

More detailed info on the show and characters here.

Working Hard to Make Christianity Illegal

I keep going back and reading the establishment clause of the Constitution, and how anyone can read it to mean that individuals and government can oppress the practice of religion mystifies me.

It says: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Out of that, we get the view that one can only engage in religious thoughts, behaviors and practices in the home and church. I think my favorite example of religious oppression and intolerance was a few years ago when a lawsuit was filed against a child for reading the Bible on the school bus on the way home. The bus was school property, thus government property, and reading the Bible on government property is in violation of the establishment clause. Truly. Ultimately the little girl, in a battle all the way to the Supreme Court, got to read her Bible on the bus. Jeeeez, such a horrible behavior. I guess running around on the bus, throwing things and getting into fights is much more acceptable.

The latest act of oppression brought to us by intolerant secularist bigots, regards a school principle that made a 30 second appearance on a video. The vid was a promo for an annual interdenominational prayer breakfast to honor teachers. This prayer breakfast has been held for 52 years in Santa Barbara, not exactly a Christian or Conservative stronghold. The Principle, Craig Richter of Foothill Elementary School, didn’t attend the breakfast, and made the vid on his own time on private property.

Some knucklehead member of the school board saw the promo on the internet, recognized Richter, and filed a complaint that he was promoting religion. The school district is taking disciplinary action and has put Richter on a ‘performance plan’. I suppose he’ll be sent to a reeducation camp next. The intolerant anti-Christian bigots of the school district are also threatening to cancel his contract.

Congress shall make no law has been perverted into 'we secularists and neo-atheists can do whatever we want to oppress freedom of religion'.

A great song by “The Talking Heads” has a line, ‘this isn’t my house, how did I get here?’. Sometimes I’ve go to wonder, this isn’t my country, how did I get here?

"Like It's 1984" - Utopian Riot

Time to kick some progressive ass with some mind blowin' rock! Enough hippy dippy pop obey the State crap.

Lyrics:
Come with me and you’ll see, this party is free cuz someone else is paying. Come inside and you’ll find, no one cares it’s a crime, only fools wait in line.  Cuz it’s your mind (X4).  That we try to control.  And It’s a crime (x4) if you try to let go.
 Chorus:
Social justice, feed the poor, hold your hands out, beg for more, change the system, to the core, were gunna party like it’s 1984.
Stay in your trance, smoke your plants, and give peace a chance, violence is overrated.  Don’t try to run, listen son, police have the guns cuz they were confiscated.  Cuz it’s your mind (x4) that we try to control.  And It’s a crime (x4) if you try to let go.
Chorus: Repeat
See I don’t know what you want from me. Cuz I can’t give you nothin’! Everything I ever had, I gave myself.  How can I save you if you can’t save yourselves? And even if I could I wouldn’t! So go save yourselves! WHOA!
I told you once before, when I hold my count up you say four. I told you once before and if I told you once what you, countin’ for?

The Haircut

An oldie, but time is running down. 36 days!

THE HAIRCUT
One day a florist went to a barber for
a haircut. After the cut, he asked
about his bill, and the barber
replied, 'I cannot accept money from
you, I'm doing community service this
week.'
The florist was pleased and left the
shop. When the barber went to open his
shop the next morning, there was a
'thank you' card and a dozen roses
waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut,
and when he tries to pay his bill, the
barber again replied, 'I cannot accept
money from you , I'm doing community
service this week.' The cop was happy
and left the shop. The next morning when
the barber went to open up, there was
a ' thank you' card and a dozen donuts
waiting for him at his door.

Then a Congressman came in for a
haircut, and when he went to pay his bill,
the barber again replied, 'I can not
accept money from you. I'm doing
community service this week.' The
Congressman was very happy and left
the shop. The next morning, when the barber
went to open up, there were a dozen
Congressmen lined up waiting for a
free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the
fundamental difference between the
citizens of our country and the
politicians who run it.

BOTH POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS NEED TO
BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME
REASON!

Shameless Westboro Church, Bikers, and the Supreme Court

I’ve written often about the reprehensible Westboro Baptist Church, neither Christian nor Baptist, the knuckleheads that gather outside cemeteries and cheer the death of American soldiers, and gathered outside Ronnie Dio’s funeral cheering his death.

They do this claiming free speech rights. I hadn’t heard this story, but at the funeral of Lt. Brendan Looney, a Navy SEAL, an organization of bikers, the Patriot Guard Riders, were also there. Whenever the Westboro hate group started their chants, the Riders revved their bikes and drowned them out. A member of the group, Dylan Waite: "There's very few things on Earth louder than a V-Twin Harley Davidson." The bikers had huge American flags and lined the entry road to the cemetery, in front of the Westboro group, and saluted as the procession of Lt. Looney passed by.

While American flags were flying and motorcycles revving, the Westboro group chanted and had signs: "Thank God for IEDs", "Thank God for dead soldiers”, and "God hates fags".

The whole mess is being heard before the Supreme Court. The Westboro group claiming free speech rights is, of course, being supported by the ACLU. The question is, do the Westboro knuckleheads have a right to protest at funerals the way they do? The suit is being brought by the dead soldier’s father; him saying this was an invasion of privacy.

An ugly mess created by ugly people. If there were such a thing as shame left in this culture, Westboro would not have even considered doing this vile deed.

From a Border Murder, to Murder Mystery, to Cartel Murder

I’ve written about this story twice before. One expressing my outrage that our government just accepted what happened, taking no action and one where the veracity of Tiffany Hartley was brought into question. This is the story of murder on Falcon Lake on the Mexican border, where Mexican pirates murdered Tiffany Hartley’s husband David.

There were some inconsistencies in Ms Hartley’s story, but the story has come back around. The decapitated head of the Mexican official investigating the event, Rolando Armando Flores Villegas, a state police commandant, was delivered to the military. The Mexican government said Villegas’ murder had nothing to do with the murder of David Hartley and the attempted murder of Tiffany Hartley.

Two suspects in the murder, Juan Pedro and Jose Manuel Saldivar Farias, have been apprehended.

Mexican cartel violence, at least partially supported by the Mexican government, and a weak, ineffective US government, all contributed to the murderous event. Mexican violence on the border is up, and US government cowardice is up.

Chris Coons the Taxman

Love this ad. Chris Coons is the self defined Marxist that Christine O'Donnell is running against in Delaware. The Jurassic Press is saying his is a slam dunk win. Then why is the Bamster going there to campaign for him?

Rocket Scientist Runs Against Politician That Led Boycott Against His Own State

This woman is a for real rocket scientist. She's running against a career politician that led the boycott against his own state because he disagreed with SB 1070. As if the 22% unemployment rate in his district wasn't high enough.

I've heard a couple interviews with her. She's brilliant!  Ruth McClung

Our Xenophobic President and His Democrat Party

I woke up this morning to hear that the Chamber of Commerce is anti American and is using foreign money to topple the Obama regime and the Democrat Party. Who knew?

This past summer he attacked Americans for Prosperity: "Right now all around this country, there are groups with harmless-sounding names like Americans for Prosperity who are running millions of dollars of ads against Democratic candidates across the country."
"And they don't have to say who exactly Americans for Prosperity are. You don't know if it's a foreign-controlled corporation." Ummmmm, the President of the United States can’t have one of his aids or political operatives give him the straight skinny? I know who they are, how come he doesn't? I don't have near the resources he does.

This weekend the xenophobic Dems claimed the Chamber of Commerce was financing the campaign against him with foreign donations. Think the President of the United States could have one of his aids or political operatives look this up for him before making this charge? The Chamber has run about $10 million in ads against this anti- business administration and his Party. His claim is that it’s coming from foreigners. Well, the Chamber is an international organization, and it has collected about $100,000 in dues. Those payments are kept separate from the campaign coffers.

Not so with the Dems. I remember during the Clinton administration, the Democrat Party and the Clinton campaign accepted donations directly from Communist China, and kept it until exposed. The Obama campaign and the Dems took in $400 million from labor; just slightly higher than the Chamber of Commerce don’t ya think? By the way, the unions are international too, and take dues from foreigners, except they don’t appear to separate it out from their campaign coffers. It’s hard to tell, since union thugs kinda have this tradition of keeping double books and cooking them up in the kettle of larceny, theft, and other skullduggery. It’s a big kettle with lots of names.

A bit of wisdom would be to make sure you’re not doing something illegal before calling out your opponent for doing something.

What’s with this foreigner attack? Isn’t this president supposed to be loved and admired by all those guys? They were so against Bush, the source of all things bad, so now they’re paying out big to Republicans to defeat the Dems and Obama? Say what?

Home Schooled Kids Denied Participation in National Math Competition

Home schooled kids win more academic competitions than public school kids; the only reason for not allowing home school kids to compete. I suspect the government will try and keep home school kids out of national spelling bees next. The government doesn't want anything out there that reinforces the truth that their public education monopoly is an abysmal failure. Also a reason why the government and their lap dogs in the National Education Association keep trying to make home schooling illegal.
