Are you poor, or don’t have prescription drug insurance? If you have asthma and buy your life saving inhaler over the counter, your days are numbered. In 2008 the FDA decided since some inhalers produced chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) they should be outlawed. See, the ozone layer is more important than people. We’re talking about 2 million or more people that rely on over the counter inhalers.
The “environmentally safe” hydrofluoroalkane inhalers cost nearly double of the ozone destroying over the counter inhalers. The reason is the “environmentally safe” inhalers have active patents that are being paid for; over the counter are post patent. Doesn’t have to happen, the totalitarian FDC could wait until the patents run out in 2015. Then again, if you get rid of over the counter inhalers, and let a couple million people die, that’d be great for the ozone layer and the environment.
