Yet Another Attack on Christianity in America II

Once upon a time the government obeyed the law. Now it ignores it at will, against the will of the American people, and very much so when it comes to persecuting Christians.

We have the Cross on Soledad Mountain in San Diego, the Cross at Joshua National Monument commemorating WWI Vets, the Crosses commemorating Utah highway patrolmen, and any number of government attacks on Christianity and Christian symbols. The latest coming to my attention is in Lyndon, Vermont.

A couple, the Downing’s, in their 70’s, have place a 24 foot tall lighted cross on their private property. This is no small cross to be sure, and it’s no small property either, being 800 acres. The cross is for a chapel they’ve built.

Some neighbors have complained they don’t like seeing a huge cross. They say it’s unsightly and doesn’t fit in with the ambiance or whatever of the countryside.

The kind of cross is called the Cross of Love of Dozule. Jesus is supposed to have appeared in the French town of Dozule, and told a resident to build a cross according to specific specifications. This cross on the Downing’s property is built to those.

Neighbor David Gascon: “It’s very large, and when they first put it up it was extremely bright, as bright as three full moons.” “It’s hard for me to see it as a necessary practice of religion. To me, it seems they’re just being showy.”

Giant showy lighted billboards hawking all manner of things are okay? What, Christians can’t be showy?

The ruling of the District 7 Environmental Commission: [the cross] “creates an adverse effect on the scenic or natural beauty of the area... “.  Billboards, windmills, radio towers and other such structures don’t?

The government and other anti-Christian bigots are using aesthetics as a basis for enforcing law?  This is private property, which the new Statist governments, local, state and federal, don’t acknowledge if it gets in their way.

The Assistant Attorney General Robert McDougall thinks that religious liberty isn’t being curtailed if restricting the symbol doesn’t affect the practice of the religion. By that criteria, the government can have crosses on all churches, cemetaries, and all private property removed because they’re not necessary to practice the religion.

When it’s secular the governments have no problem with eyesores. If it’s Christian, then it must come down.

Of course the the Mosque of Triumph at ground zero gets a pass. It'll be huge, unsightly (not conforming to NYC architectural styles, and noisy with loud calls to prayer.

Freedom of  Christian religion anyone?

Prince Poppycock ~America's Got Talent

Fab! Love this guy!!

Why I Voted Democrat

When your friends can't explain why they voted for Democrats, give them this list.
They can then pick a reason .

10.  I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

9.  I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

8.  I voted Democrat because Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

7.  I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

6.  I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

5.  I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies through abortion so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

4.  I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

3.  I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.

2.  I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

1.  I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my ass that it is unlikely that I'll ever have another point of view.

One of the Effects of the Non-Dictatorship of Dictator Hugo Chavez

I had written earlier about Chavez and a comment on that blog advocated for Chavez and denied he was a dictator. That it's safer to live in Baghdad than Caracas is a joke that is no joke. Murder, no working justice system and anarchy.

The NY Times article referenced in this interview here.

Hamas Supporting Interfaith Bridge Builder Constantly Slams US

The alleged interfaith "bridge builder"  Feisal Abdul Rauf , the face of the Mosque of Triumph to be built near ground zero, is a bad actor and liar. I covered just some of his lies here

He said while in Australia in 2006:
"We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaeda has on its hands of innocent non-Muslims. You may remember that the U.S.-led sanctions against Iraq led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children. This had been documented by the United Nations." He went on to say: "The West needs to see themselves through the eyes of the Arab and Muslim world, and when you do, you will see the predicament that exists within the Muslim community."

This is the knucklehead that is building religious and ideological bridges between Islam and the West?

Michael Been (1950-2010) of The Call~~A Tribute

The Call is one of my favorite bands. It's lead singer Michael Been has passed away. Here's my favorite song by them. Arguably one of the best American Bands. Sadly this vid's not so good, but I highly recommend some downloads of their music.

Voices against the Mosque of Triumph in NY

Islamophobic Americans Help Renovate Mosques Worldwide

We taxpayers are helping renovate mosques all over the world including Bulgaria, Pakistan, Mali, Tunisia, Afghanistan, Benin, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania, Egypt, Tunisia, the Maldives, Yemen, Turkmenistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Serbia and Montenegro, to name a few.

The last, Montenegro, for example, has a broken fountain, which worshipers use prior to worship and prayer. When our church here in Las Vegas was faced with renovations (and we always are) we put extra bucks in the offering, have bake sales and fundraisers, and people that have the knowledge and physical strength to do the renovations volunteer. While building the “Miracle League” baseball field so disabled kids could play baseball, secularist judges and city officials blocked us every step of the way. It took five years to complete a project that should have taken a few months. One judge tried to get our status as a religious institution taken away because we have non-religious groups meet there, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, widows’ support groups, divorce support groups, etc.

We try work and contribute to take care of ourselves but the government works to damage us. Mosques in terrorist anti-American states get taxpayer help. Justification?
State Department spokeswoman Nicole Thompson: “It is helping to preserve our cultural heritage. It is not just to preserve religious structures.  It is not to preserve a religion. It is to help us as global inhabitants preserve cultures.” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton calls this “soft power”. You know, be nice to them and they won’t kill us. That’s worked well.

This is all financed through The U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP). So what happened to the separation of church and state that the Left applies to Christians? From a 2003 ruling by the Dept of Justice: “That advice is provided in the following paragraph that appears in every AFCP request for grant proposals… ‘The establishment clause of the U.S. Constitution permits the government to include religious objects and sites within an aid program under certain conditions. For example, an item with a religious connection (including a place of worship) may be the subject of a cultural preservation grant if the item derives its primary significance and is nominated solely on the basis of architectural, artistic, historical or other cultural (not religious) criteria.’” No, the Establishment Clause has no such thing in it.

Well, how come old churches like mine don’t qualify? The short answer is because it’s a Christian church and our government does everything it can to discriminate against Christians in this country. To paraphrase Clinton, its “soft discrimination”, but it’s applied nonetheless.

We’re even helping with mosques in Cairo, home of the Muslim Brotherhood, one of the most violent terrorist groups in history, and the father and director of most existing terrorist groups. We’re even giving them computers and upgrades. Heaven knows our church, and how many other churches, could use new computers and software.

Then again, the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Code of Federal Regulations states: “USAID funds may not be used for the acquisition, construction, or rehabilitation of structures to the extent that those structures are used for inherently religious activities.”

So how does that square peg fit in that round hole? USAID press officer Annette Aulton:
“Historic and cultural preservation activities have a clearly secular purpose as do activities to promote tourism.” “With respect to the computer center in the mosque in Tajikistan, this activity seems to be part of a larger program aimed at reducing social conflict.”… “With respect to the computer equipment provided to the Imam in Mali, there really isn’t enough information to do an analysis. There are references to promotion of the town’s historical, cultural and religious heritage, which sounds like a secular purpose.”

Taxpayer money obviously should not go for these renovations. The terrorist states have enough money to fix them up, or these mosques can do what our little church does, pony up extra bucks and have volunteers do the work.

International Christian Persecution

Perhaps the Jurassic Press could spend some time covering these stories, instead of being apologists for Islam and Sharia Law.

Those Intolerant Americans

Time magazine, that used to be a news magazine, has it's latest propaganda piece out, claiming, without any evidence, that American citizens against the Triumphal Cordoba NY City Mosque, must be Islamophobes. It follows with how the various Statist government entities, the ruling elite and their propagandists in the Jurassic Press, would say such a thing. If you're for traditional marriage and family, you're a homophobe. Believe in limited government and low taxes you're a Nazi. (Nazi by the way was a socialist party the had high taxes and lots of government, just like the Dems.) If you disapprove of Obama's programs, you're a racist. So of course if you criticize Muslims you're an Islamophobe.

I suppose as a matter of fair play we could say they are Cristophobes, Heterophobes, and Libertyphobes.

Time magazine tsk tsk tsk'd that about 46% of Americans think Islam has a propensity for violence. Jeeze, where'd we get that idea? USS Cole, Lockerby, Achille Lauro, 9/11, Pentagon, Embassies in Africa, to just name a few. Can't remember any Buddhists, Hindus, Shintos, or Christians doing anything like that. Seems like Muslims have a lock on that market.

In a city with about a hundred mosques already, the Islamists want another huge monstrosity, that is supposed to open to everyone. Here's a difference. If you go to a mosque anywhere and are not Muslim, you have to enter by a specific door, not during prayer time, and from various reports, not so readily accepted. The NY Mosque of Triumph is going to be different? Anybody can walk in like any other religious building? Probably not.  In Christian Churches, one can just walk right in. When I was in Asia, I just walked right in to several Buddhist Temples. Jewish Synagogues I've just had to put on a yarmulke.

We have to ask Time magazine, if nearly 70% of Americans think the location of the NY mosque is inappropriate, and speaks to intolerance, why are there not reports of violence against Muslims here? You can bet if a Christian church or a Synagogue were going to be built in Mecca, the streets would see riots and non-Muslims being killed. Time should not tell this lie, and should not lecture us on intolerance while giving a pass to the intolerant Islamic countries. They should be reporting on honor killings, murder, rape and torture that go on in this country by Muslims, but it's okay because they are Muslims, it's part of their belief system.

Shame on Time magazine.

Those Greedy, Rapacious, Lying Bloggers

Governments are obviously going after Christians and Businesses, and now they're going after bloggers? The Jurassic Press I'm sure would love to see bloggers curtailed, if not shut down, so we're sure they are for this.

There's a woman in Philadelphia, Marilyn Bess, that has a little blog. The City smells money they think they can get to help pay for they're horrible ineffectual programs, so has demanded that she pay a $300 business tax.

Bess: “The real kick in the pants is that I don’t even have a full-time job, so for the city to tell me to pony up $300 for a business privilege license, pay wage tax, business privilege tax, net profits tax on a handful of money is outrageous.”

When she contested this, the caring and compassionate bureaucrats told her to hire an accountant.

Over the past couple years she's made about $50.

Falls into the category of city officials demanding business licenses from little kids to sell lemonade on the corner.

Good grief.

Regarding the government's interest in going after this blogger, and by extension all bloggers, is their and the Jurassic Press's wanting to control the Internet. I can't get the vid to embed, but here's the link to Bob Schieffer's commentary this past Sunday morning, bemoaning the fact here. He said:
"Finally, today on another subject. The greatest advances in the store of human knowledge have always taken place when great minds found themselves in the same place at the same time, as when the Greeks gathered on the hillsides of Athens, when the political geniuses who founded this country came together.
The great promise of the Internet was that for the first time great minds no longer had to be in close proximity. But what we have also learned now is that in the Internet age, ignorance travels as rapidly as great ideas. Now, not only great minds can find one another and compare notes, so too can the nuts and the perverts and those who are simply looking to validate their prejudices.
So despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary, a new poll tells us a growing number of Americans, most of them on the right, believe Barack Obama is a Muslim. No doubt, due in part to the fact that stories to that effect have gone viral on the Internet.
Disagreeing with our leaders is our right. And in truth, part of the fun of being an American. But to suggest the President is a Muslim is absurd. No matter how fervently some who dislike him may wish it so.
The purpose here, though, is not to argue politics but just to underscore how this illustrates the downside of the Internet, the only news delivery system we've ever had that has no editor. We must always remember that that what we read there may not always be true."
Regarding the last line, can we add that what he says, along with the other government propagandists in the Jurassic Press may not be true? For example, what the Pew Poll actually said:
The view that Obama is a Muslim is more widespread among his political opponents than among his backers. Roughly a third of conservative Republicans (34%) say Obama is a Muslim, as do 30% of those who disapprove of Obama's job performance. But even among many of his supporters and allies, less than half now say Obama is a Christian. Among Democrats, for instance, 46% say Obama is a Christian, down from 55% in March 2009.
The belief that Obama is a Muslim has increased most sharply among Republicans (up 14 points since 2009), especially conservative Republicans (up 16 points). But the number of independents who say Obama is a Muslim has also increased significantly (up eight points). There has been little change in the number of Democrats who say Obama is a Muslim, but fewer Democrats today say he is a Christian (down nine points since 2009).
The propagandist Schieffer said  "a new poll tells us a growing number of Americans, most of them on the right, believe Barack Obama is a Muslim."

Not exactly Bob.

Of course bloggers had to correct him. Just like bloggers had to correct Dan Rather when he presented G W Bush's military record that turned out to be completely fabricated by CBS News.

Reading without editors? What, those guys are truth tellers? We, the citizens of this country Bob, will do our own editing, not mindlessly believe your Leftist propaganda.

Sly Stallone Interview About "The Expendables"

Leftists make overyly political anti-American movies that no one go sees. Stallone makes a regular mindless action flick that's entertaining and fun, and Leftists complain he's making a patriotic right wing movie? Say what?

The Knack - "My Sharona"

Federal Government Attacks on Christianity Alive in England Too

For over 100 years, Catholic Care of the  Diocese of Leeds in England, has been providing adoption services. Now it has to decide whether to amend it's Constitution to provide adoption services to homosexual couples or shut down. Once again a federal government is ruling in the favor of Secularism against Christianity.

If it's important for babies and children to be taken care of, what business is it of government to force its view on private, and especially religious, organizations? There are adoption agencies that provide services to homosexuals, adding to the argument that it's none of their business. The only reason is to discriminate against Christianity. By the way, in England, Islamofacists get a pass on just about anything they do.

Andrew Hind, executive director of the Charity Commission that made the ruling: "In certain circumstances, it is not against the law for charities to discriminate on the grounds of sexual orientation. However, because the prohibition on such discrimination is a fundamental principle of human rights law, such discrimination can only be permitted in the most compelling circumstances. We have concluded that in this case the reasons Catholic Care have set out do not justify their wish to discriminate."

Meanwhile these knuckleheads discriminate against Christians, the Catholic Church, and heterosexuals.

How much longer, given this decision, and alleged judges in America with their bigoted, anti-Christian decisions, does Western Civilization have until the abolition of Christianity and the total acceptance of Islam is complete?

Former Conservative Party minister Ann Widdecombe: "There is a world of difference between expecting you to live in a society where people do different things and have different values and living in a society where people are forced actively to facilitate things that are against their consciences."

Indeed.

Church Architecture

NY Mosque a Zionist Plot?

Here's an alternative view of the Cordoba Mosque to be built near ground zero. From the Egyptian newspaper Al Masry Al Youm, here's the view of some Islamists, expressed by an Sunni institution, Al Azhar:
A number of Al Azhar ulema expressed their opposition to building a mosque near [where] the events of September 11 [occurred], convinced that it is “a conspiracy to confirm a clear connection between the strikes of September [11] and Islam.” Dr. ‘Abd al-Mu‘ti Bayumi, a member of the Islamic Research Academy [of Al Azhar] told Al Masry Al Youm that he rejects the building of any mosque in this area [Ground Zero], because the “devious mentality” desires to connect these events [of 9/11] with Islam, though he maintains that Islam is innocent of this accusation. Instead, it is a “Zionist conspiracy,” which many are making use of to harm the religion. Likewise, Dr. Amna Nazir, professor of doctrine and philosophy at Al Azhar, expressed her rejection that a mosque be built near the World Trade Center, saying: “Building a mosque on this rubble indicates bad intention — even if we wished to shut our eyes, close our minds, and insist on good will. I hope it is a sincere step, and not a new conspiracy against Islam and Muslims.”
This is from what may be the best article I've read on the ground zero mosque controversy yet.

Mosques and Triumphalism

Temple Mount
Going to the beginning of Islam, the first mosque was Muhammad’s house in Medina, as well as his burial place. It was added to over the years and now is a huge complex. This is where he started his wars against the Medinans,  Jews, and Christians, and from where he raided caravans to gain wealth and power. Pretty secular objectives. This is the foundation of Islamic conquest. A mosque.

Next came Kaaba, where the big black rock is, and the Grand Mosque in Mecca. According to Muslim legend, this is where all the tribal gods of the Arabs were, and where Muhammad cleansed all these gods that resided in the black cube\rock. All the conquered gods became all the conquered Arab tribes. Muhammad’s growing Muslim tribe had up to that time been praying facing Jerusalem. Now he ordered all the Muslims and the new Arab “converts” to face Mecca where this conquest took place. Another triumph, another mosque. An interesting modern note is that the current incarnation of that mosque of triumph was built by Mohammed bin Laden, Osama bin Laden’s father, paid for by King Faisal of Saudi Arabia where the Wahabi sect was founded, which is the source of modern Islamofacism and terrorism, financed by Saudi Arabia still.

The conquest of territory continued, with Muhammad’s continually growing army, throughout the Middle East, into Egypt, mosques being built each triumphal step of the way.

The next triumphal mosque, the one that angers me most, is Al-Aqsa Mosque, built on the remains of the Jewish Temple. This first temple was built by King Solomon after the death of his father King David, about 1000 BCE. It was destroyed and rebuilt about 580 BCE and lasted until about 70 CE when the Romans destroyed it. On top of this, about 60 years after Muhammad’s death, the triumphal mosque was built. Within it are sacred Jewish artifacts that Muslims keep away from Jews.

A historical reminder that Jews inhabited Jerusalem about 1700 years before the Muslims showed up and Christians were there over 600 years before the Muslims showed up.

Grand Mosque of Damascus used to be a Catholic Church, with many Christian holy artifacts, denied to Christians, another symbol of triumph, and monument to their belief of their own superiority.

The Hagia Sophia, the largest and most revered of Christian Church’s, turned into a Mosque.

The Babri Masjid, built on a holy Hindu site in India.

Then the “religion of peace” moved into Europe, conquering Spain, where the triumphal Great Mosque of Cordoba was built. It’s for this triumphal mosque of conquest the NY City Cordoba Mosque is to be built as a mosque of triumph near hallowed, sacred, Ground Zero.

Other mosques were being built from the other side of Europe at the same time. Europe was under attack, recognized it, and began the Crusades to protect themselves by attacking the Muslim’s homeland. Muslims were forced to retreat and go on defense.

Mosques are being built by the thousands on every continent. Huge mosques in places where there are only a few hundred Muslims, yet costing $millions. They are being financed by terrorist states, most prominently Saudi Arabia. The purpose is to make their presence known. Their goal is dhimmitude, which is submission, concession and surrender to Islam and Sharia Law by every human being on the planet.

That is the singular purpose of the Cordoba Mosque of Triumph in NYC, based on Islamic history.

The mosques are our barracks,
The domes our helmets,
The minarets our bayonets,
And the faithful our soldiers.  ~Poem recited by current Turkish Prime minister.

Another Federal Government Attack on Christianity

It's been a tradition as long as this country has existed, and that's placing crosses to commemorate the dead. It's been part of the ACLU,  neo-atheists and the Federal Government to expunge Christianity from the nation for decades. The most recent attack has been on crosses placed in Utah to commemorate Highway Patrolmen killed in the line of duty.

Statist judges have decided that these crosses are unconstitutional. I've looked over the US Constitution a lot, and I don't see any mention of crosses. Don't see anything in there about religion, except the government can't make you pray and go to religious services of their choosing.

The alleged judges from Denver's 10th US Circuit Court of Appeals said it's in there, that the crosses were endorsing Christianity. These crosses, 12 foot high, 6 foot cross bar, were paid for privately by citizens with the agreement of the families of the fallen officers. A short biography of an officer was on each cross.

When you see a cross on the highway, what first comes to mind? Someone who has died or Christ resurrected? The alleged judges said that any "reasonable observer" would conclude the state of Utah and the Utah Highway Patrol were endorsing Christianity. They only think that because they are secularist anti-Christian bigots. It took 38 pages of opinion to say they will not tolerate anything that reminds them, not anyone else, of Christianity, and to insult the law enforcement community.

The suit was brought the American Atheists Inc. Atheism has been ruled by the Supreme Court to be a religion, so these three alleged judges have chosen one religion over another, and used the force of law to implement the Atheists' belief.

Supported by Statist Secular alleged judges.

This is an insult to the fallen patrolmen, their families and Christianity.

This is an endorsement of Secularism, Statism, and Atheism by the Federal Government.

Who's Extreme???

Those Horrible Little American Citizens

From the woman that was the first to call TEA Party participants Nazis, we now have calls from her for an investigation about the Mosque of Triumph to be built near Ground Zero, costing $100 Million. An investigation about who's financing the mosque? No, who's financing the opposition to it. How dare 70% of those stupid little citizens oppose a national insult.

Nancy Peolsi:
"There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded."... "How is this being ginned up that here we are talking about Treasure Island, something we've been working on for decades, something of great interest to our community as we go forward to an election about the future of our country and two of the first three questions are about a zoning issue in New York City."

What she and other Democrats don't understand is grassroots feelings and ideas, a welling up of sentiment and an exercise of freedom of regular people agreeing on something. They are totally top down control freaks, and if Liberals oppose anything, they designate a leader, use the funds they have (usually tax payer dollars) and force what they want on others. They don't understand the people. They don't present an argument for their ideas and policies.

What they do well is name calling. The newest is if you oppose the Mosque of Triumph you're and Islamophobe. Add to that, if you oppose Obama's destructive policies you're a racist. If you want the traditional institution of marriage, between a man and a woman, you're a homophobe.

It's sad for our county that a person like this, that detests liberty and capitalism, is third in line for the presidency of the United States. Then again we have a president and vice president with the same view. Interesting that about 70% of the people oppose the mosque, about 70% opposed ObamaCare, about 70% opposed the stimulus packages, about 70% oppose the latest financial regulatory legislation. Not surprising congress has an 11% approval rating.

A Few $Billion Here, A Few $Billion There

Right now your personal liability of the $14 Trillion dollar debt is $43,000. Got dollars?

We have no money as a nation. Most citizens carry a pretty heavy personal debt. So the government is printing money, and China is buying most of our debt load, making us beholden to them .

Now the Obama Administration has decided to pony up $63 Billion for an international healthcare program, the "Global Health Initiative". It will of course be female centered. This is a "new approach" too, and it's going to save lots of lives. Ask Secretary Clinton and the Obama Administration, they'll tell you.  The GHI program will be run by local governments. We know where that leads.

All this is commendable and we do want to help those in need. Sometimes though, we need to look after ourselves. If we don't, then pretty soon we won't have the resources to help others, let alone ourselves.

To further justify this, Secretary of State Clinton said it's a national security issue too. (Sorry for being cynical here, but a Democrat bringing up national security while advocating open borders, amnesty, not prosecuting terrorists, not calling terrorists, terrorists, praising Leftist dictatorships, and cutting the military budget, is a bit rich.)  The Administration thinks that by doing this, the countries we help with health care, won't be so apt to give us grief. We're the good guys, guys, so please don't kill us.  Do they have any historical evidence this has ever worked? Think not. They'll take our money then try and kill us.

Besides be female directed, there will be "family planning" which is of course State funded abortion. I suspect this is the primary motivation of GHI.

We don't have any money for our own county's problems, yet we're going to borrow $Billions to do this.

Sigh.

The Symbolism of a Mosque

Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan understands the symbolism of a mosque. He quoted this poem:

The mosques are our barracks,
The domes our helmets,
The minarets our bayonets,
And the faithful our soldiers.

Liberals want this in Manhattan.

Liberals say we must be tolerant and understanding of this.

I don't think so.

Pro-Choice Except When It's Not the Right Choice

There's a prenatal condition "congenital adrenal hyperplasia" that causes ambiguous genitalia. There's also a pill that can prevent this from happening. What the condition does is masculinize female genitalia, so the baby's gender can be indeterminate. The pill aligns the hormones in the fetus (aka "viable tissue mass" for Liberals), to correct the condition in the 1 in 15,000 cases in the US.

One would think this would be a good thing. What could be wrong with correcting the defect in an enzyme called 21-hydroxylase, that would bring a healthy baby into the world? If this defect isn't detected and fixed, the baby could get seriously ill because of salt loss through the urine. There's also a deficiency of the hormone cortisol, affecting the heart, and an  increase in androgens from the adrenal glands.

Bring in the homosexual activists. It turns out the the prenatal treatment for this condition may have the side effect of turning potential gays and lesbians into full fledged heteros. National Center for Lesbian Rights, Advocates for Informed Choice and some other groups along with some doctors say we shouldn't be letting people mess with gender orientation in the womb. I suppose that even if the baby could be really sick without the treatment, or be physically deformed, or have to undergo extremely painful genital correction procedures after birth, is of little to no consequence. We need more gay people, even if it's outside the natural order of things. For my Liberal friends, that means a man and a man, or a woman and a woman cannot produce offspring naturally. Only a male and a female can do that, thus the term, 'natural order of things'.  Leftist gays and lesbians think parents may use this to adjust girls to be feminine and boys to be masculine.

There's now a big ethical debate in the medical community, and some rules of use are being rewritten. Of course gays and lesbians want legislation to make the procedure illegal, or at least make it damned near impossible for parents to make a choice. Then again, the parents could kill the prenatal tissue mass, and that would be okay.

"Heavenly Puss"...Tom and Jerry

Tom and Jerry on how the concepts of Heaven and Hell can affect how we relate to each other.

When You Have Loved...Clare of Assisi

When You have loved, You shall be chaste; when You have touched, You shall become pure; when You have accepted, You shall be a virgin.
Whose power is stronger,
Whose generosity is more abundant,
Whose appearance more beautiful,
Whose love more tender,
Whose courtesy more gracious.
In Whose embrace You are already caught up;
Who has adorned Your breast with precious stones
and has placed priceless pearls in Your ears
and has surrounded You with sparkling gems
     as though blossoms of springtime
and placed on Your head a golden crown
as a sign of Your holiness.
