Christian Persecution Supported by the President

Sometimes I just have to withdraw from making any comments about events. Everything that's wrong with economics, culture, politics, religion is praised and promoted, and what's right is demonized.

We have a president, in regards to religion, making pro Palestinian/Islamist statements of support, caustically comments on Jews and Israel,  and makes personal attacks on Israel's prime minister. He's silent on the slaughter of Christians in the Middle East, most especially by the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt who recently destroyed St Mark Cathedral. It's as important to the Copts as the Vatican is for Catholics. It's also hugely important to millions of Christians worldwide. It was attacked by regular people, and the military, instead of protecting the site, joined in and gunned down Christians that were there. Not a word by the Obama administration. The only word I've heard from them is the plan to go ahead with sending fighter jets, tanks and weapons to the Muslim Brotherhood, which have set up a murderous dictatorship.

Sadly, but not unexpectedly, the Leftist Jurassic Press downplayed this destruction and slaughter, and Reuters (the new international Pravda) tried to lay blame at the feet of the Copts, calling them a "fringe" element, “an angry young fringe … of Christianity may also be turning to violence". Copts make up 12%-15% of the Egyptian population. A fringe element?  Tens of thousands have fled to save their lives, and their homes and churches are burned to the ground, usually with people in them.

American Christian pastor Saeed Abedini has been imprisoned, beaten and tortured only because he's a Christian. Not a peep (well, maybe some small peeps) from the Obama administration or his State Department. The attempt to deal with this is so weak as to be no attempt at all.

Coming back to our shores, the persecution of Christians continues, fortunately without the violence. If Obama were the Christian he claims he is, he would be using the presidential bully pulpit to speak against these things. Instead he promotes and allows his atheist\secularist fellow travelers to bully Christians. Not only is he silent on the persecution of Christians, he endorses it. An instructor at a reserve Army training facility in Pennsylvania classified Christians, specifically Evangelicals, as religious extremists, equivalent to Al Qaeda, Hamas and the KKK.. Catholics were included in the list of religious extremists. Seriously?  Of course this administration, the Army and Department of Defense pleaded ignorance. Still haven't heard the administration respond. Then again, it's against Christians, so I'm not holding my breath.

Obama, further using the military to persecute Christians, has appointed Mike Weinstein as a Pentagon Adviser on matters of “religious toleration.” Weinstein is an anti Christian bigot, that has reinterpreted the freedom of religion establishment clause to mean freedom from religion and throws up the false separation of church and state. It doesn't exist, no such thing is in the Constitution. Weinstein is the founder and president of the anti Christian hate group and President of The Military Religious Freedom Foundation.
Weinstein told Defense Secretary Hagel and the Washington Post: “This is a national security threat. What is happening…is spiritual rape and what the Pentagon needs to understand is that it is sedition and treason.  It should be punished.”

Weinstein wants anyone serving in the military to be court-martialed if they talk about their Faith to anyone. Re-read what I've italicized;  that anyone speaking of their faith is guilty of sedition and treason, acts that are punishable by imprisonment or execution. Seriously? The military is controlled by the commander in chief, and not one word of this has been addressed by him. Not going out on a limb here, but if such a charge were launched against Islamists, he'd knock it down immediately

Another word about Weinstein.  In 2011 he sued to stop Air Force Cadets participating in Operation Christmas Child because the project is Franklin Graham project. There were Christian cadets asking for donations for poor children, and that was unacceptable because Graham is an evangelical, and therefore an extremist and anti Constitutional. Really, that coming from a knucklehead that says the establishment clause says freedom "from" religion, not that the government can't establish a religion you must practice and be a member of. Since Obama and the Dept of Defense have not spoken against this, I can only assume they must, once again, support the persecution of Christians. Weinstein has called Christians "monsters". He's in charge of forming "religious toleration" policies for the military. Denying food and gifts to poor children because of anti Christian bigotry, intolerance and hatred.

In Texas, at Columbus High School, runner Derrick Hayes won his race, pointed to the sky, and was disqualified, it being deemed a religious gesture and "excessive celebration".  Seriously? Another example of Christian persecution. Of course if an Islamist runner turned and kneeled to Mecca and gave thanks, nothing would have been done.  The centralized Dept of Education supported no praying at high school football games, so I can only assume they support this anti Christian ruling too.

We have a president and his cabinet that supports anti Christian foreign and domestic policy, along with his political party and their supporters, the Main Stream Press.

Christian Tim Tebow has practically been driven from his career in football, but a guy that comes out as gay is celebrated for about two weeks now. Obama reached out and called the gay guy.

Religious  history proves that whenever God is denied by a people, that nation collapses into slavery to the State, dictatorships, no liberty of any sort.

Centuries Old Monastery In Turkey Declared "Occupier" and Lands Confiscated

St. Gabriel Monastery
There's a monastery, St Gabriel, in Turkey, an anti-Christian, pro-Islamist nation, that has had it land confiscated; it's only been there since about 350 years after Jesus. At least this time the Islamists didn't go in and just murder the Christians, which is their usual modus operandi. Another example of the persecution of Christians.

http://youtu.be/sGCmQN_RPMM

In the State takeover of the monastery's land, the monastery was named an "occupier". It's only been there for a few centuries.

The Church, Pentecost, Persecution, And A Movie

Today is Pentecost, the celebration of the birth of the church. I’ve written my thoughts here, and a bit of the history here. The Church, Christianity, has survived because of a lot of sacrifice and clashes with governments at a terrible price. Politicians have infiltrated the Church and essentially run it, nearly into to ground on occasion. Until I started hearing and reading about this event, Cristero War of 1926 to 1929 in Mexico, that pitted the government against the Catholic Church, I had never heard of it. The celebration of the birth of the Church is important, but I think it’s also important to remember the sacrifices made to keep the church alive.

The Democrats, Secularists, and Obama Administration attempting to enforce secular law, to weave government mandates into religious practice in America is for the same reason the Cristero War happened. Politicians see Christianity as a block to their desire for total power, and either must control it or destroy it.

This is both the trailer for the movie, and an historical look at the war.

It's both good and amazing a film of the persecution of Christians and of such quality has been produced, especially when the persecution of Christians worldwide has reached historic levels.

This film opens June 1.

Keeping in Mind and Praying for Christians Worldwide Being Persecuted

I haven’t written for awhile about the massive persecution of Christians going on in the world. How massive and horrible this is here in a vid. Whether it’s the rather mild sort here, or the violent sort in China, Africa and Indonesia, it’s still persecution. Here’s a summation of what’s been going on in the past few weeks around the world.

The violence against Christians in Indonesia is non-stop by Muslims, the “religion of peace”. There’s a Christian neighborhood in the Moluccas that suffered three days of attacks, against people and the burning down of businesses and homes. The government is mostly silent about these, and denies any involvement by Muslims. In Singkil the government has shut down 16 churches because they didn’t have the right permits. Muslims had been having rallies to shut down the churches, and the government said these shutdowns were not influenced by the rallies. When our church was setting up for Miracle League (a baseball program for disabled children), we had to get all kinds of permits for the church, the cost of which nearly closed us down. God intervened and protected us from city bureaucrats and intolerant, bigoted secularist judges.

Real estate developers (government officials) in the city of Zou Gang, China, demolished a church. The church had been in negotiations for relocation due to city expansion. What happened though is one day about 100 government workers built a trench around the church where about 500 people worship, and isolated it.  That was in August of last year and April this year they broke into the church, dragged the people there out, and started destroying it. By the way, the Chinese government tells the churches how they can worship and what they can say or believe. Kinda like Obama and the Democrats.

Things are pretty bad in Laos. Two pastors were detained for “unauthorized worship” and evangelism, and they were ordered to take down their crosses. They refused saying it’s a religious symbol like others, and those were allowed to be displayed. I can’t help but notice the number of crosses being taken down in our country. There are about 200,000 Christians in Laos, and persecution is increasing.

Nigeria may be the worst. The government has turn a blind eye to bombs blowing up churches while people are inside worshipping, grenades being thrown in while people are worshipping, congregants being gunned down leaving church, and the homes of Christians being attacked. Hundreds of Christians have been murdered.

Not to forget what’s happening to Christians in the Middle East, especially in Egypt.

Christians in these and other countries are brave and being martyred. What we have to put up with here are minor inconveniences in comparison. We must remember them in our daily prayers.

John Allen Jr. on Christian Persecution

This is a long piece on the persecution of Christians. Christians are the most persecuted religion in the world. It is or should be the most important issue facing Christians today.

Fr. Baron Comments on the Persecuted Christian Church

While I’ve been focusing on our own government’s attack, in concert with NGS’s (Non-Governmental Secularists) on religion, there’s a huge, violent attack on Christians worldwide.

We must not forget these persecuted brave people and pray for them diligently. Would you and I stand up to this kind of hatred, violence and genocide knowing we could be killed doing so?

Christians in Ethiopia Being Burned to the Ground by Muslims

Muslim atrocities continue world wide, against infidels in general but Christians specifically. The latest horribleness is going on in Ethiopia, as close a Christian nation as one’s going to find in Africa. It has a Christian majority population.

International Christian Concern (ICC) reports at least one Christian killed and an unnumbered amount injured in attacks by members of the religion of peace. The damage to buildings is horrific with the burning down of a Christian orphanage, 69 churches, and 30 Christian homes.

It all started because some Muslims thought some Christians desecrated the Koran, their guide to hatred, oppression, intolerance and violence. So far about 10,000 Christians have been displaced.

We’re glad to see Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has taken action. The local administrator of the western region where most of this is taking place is a Muslim; he’s taken no action to round up the arsonists and murderers, and has been removed. He should be jailed.

The underlying reason for all this of course is the Islamofacists are working to establish an Islamic nation. Enter the requisite Western knucklehead, Mike Turner, a “strategy leader” for the North Africa section of the International Mission Board. Turner: "While I have seen Islam advance in [Ethiopia],  I do not have any concrete evidence to support the notion that radical Muslims are trying to make Ethiopia an Islamic state by using violence or any other means." Really? Islamofacists killing Christians, destroying their property, and trying to overthrow the government isn’t evidence? Don’t know if guys like this will ever get the message, Islam is about submission, and if you don’t submit, they will kill you. Good grief, how much more clear can it be?

Ethiopia has been a Christian majority nation for centuries: right now about 40% of the population is Muslim and growing. Their view is that by reducing the Christian population through violence is a good thing. Turner: "There are strong Islamic bases all around Ethiopia," (adjoining nations are Islamist fascist States)… "But it has historically been a 'Christian' nation. If that was going to ever change … you're talking about a massive revolution that frankly I just don't see on the horizon anytime soon." Good grief.

A Chinese Cardinal and Freedom of Religion in America

Cardinal Kung 1949

He spent more time in prison for political crimes against the State than Nelson Mandela, but you probably never heard of him. The reason for that is because his crime was being a Christian; never popular among the Elites.

His name is Ignatius Cardinal Kung Pin Mei. Born in 1901 and died in 2000. Thirty of those years he spent in prison because he was a Christian, and defied the State, refusing to renounce his faith. The Chinese government showed a little more restraint than barbaric fascist Islamic states that just murder people who refuse to renounce their faith.

Father Kung was consecrated Bishop on October 7, 1949, the year the Communists took power, making him Bishop of Soochow.    In 1950 he became Bishop of Shanghai and apostolic administrator of Soochow and Nanking. By 1955 he became such an enemy of the State, he was arrested.  A few months later he was taken to an arena, a dog racing stadium, and shackled he was led to the microphone.  The purpose was to confess his crime (being a Christian), but instead he said, “Long live Christ the King! Long live the Pope!”, and the audience responded, “Long live Christ the King! Long live Bishop Kung!

He spent the next 30 years in prison, mostly in solitary confinement, and was released in 1985 to house arrest.  That part of the sentence was 10 years, but he was released after two and a half years.

From a sermon he gave in 1991:
“In America, you have freedom of expression and true freedom to worship. You honor justice and human rights. This is a nation of God. Standing with you here today, my heart is with my people in China who still do not have the freedom to worship.
… It is my sincere wish that, through the continuous leadership from the Government of the United States to help and influence the Government of the Peoples Republic of China, my people and my country will one day also enjoy the same true freedom of religion, expression, the human rights and justice in accordance with international standards.”

This is why I bring this brave man of faith and conviction up. The freedom of expression and to worship is being slowly eroded in this country. We Christians are demeaned and insulted in the Jurassic Press and by many current government officials. A blind eye is turned to the suffering, persecution, torture and murder of Christians worldwide. Our secular government is silent when Islamic states violently oppress Christians.

In this country the government uses the ACLU and the Americans United for Separation of Church and State to repress religious freedom, at least Christians'. Our secular government and these two organizations do support the freedom of religious expression of Islamofacists, which, given the Statist predilections of our elites, is no surprise.

Cardinal Kung shortly before his death.
There’s a cautionary tale here.  One doesn’t want to accept the fact of the slow taking away of liberty, and especially of the right to practice one’s religion. What Leftists practice is “Fabianism”, which is a slow, premeditated taking over of freedom until everyone is a slave to the State.  As is shown time and again, especially in the 20th century, to close the deal on tyranny, Jews and Christians must be first marginalized, isolated, and then imprisoned.

Look around and see what the elites in this country, Jurassic Press and Leftists in government, say about Christians (example is what is said about Palin and Christine O’Donnell and their faith) without challenge, and how they ignore the persecution and murder of Christians world wide.

Can’t happen here?

So What? They're Only Christians

While demanding acquiescence and acceptance of their murderous genocidal intolerant religion here in the US and other Western countries (you’re an Islamophobe if you don’t), they continue killing people that don’t agree with or submit to them.

While lying about oppression here in the US (there is none), comes another horrific story of the barbarism of this hateful political ideology masquerading as a religion. This is a real story of Muslim oppression. Dateline Pakistan.

International Christian Concern (ICC) has reported the story of a Christian man and his wife; he was burned alive and she was raped because they would not renounce their faith and become Muslims. The man, Masih,  and his wife Martha, worked for a character Sheik Mohammad Sultan, a wealthy businessman. He and some other thug Muslim leaders asked Masih and Martha to convert, and when they said they wouldn’t and were going to quit their jobs, the sheik said he would kill them if they quit.

Here’s the set up. The sheik’s house was robbed and Martha was charged with the theft. What did the police do? They raped Martha and set Masih on fire in front of the police station. He was taken to hospital where he died three days later.

ICC’s Regional Manager for South Asia, Jonathan Racho: “We are outraged and deeply saddened by the murder of Masih and the rape of Martha by the police. As this case clearly indicates, Pakistani Christians are treated as less than animals by the Muslims. We urge the president of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zadari, and other high level government officials to bring the perpetrators of the attacks to justice.”

President of Pakistan Christian Congress, Dr. Nazir S Bhatti: “[The] Rape of Martha Bibi before her children by Muslim police officials and burning of her husband took place just a few miles from building of the Supreme Court of Pakistan where Muslim judges sitting on benches of justice have no sympathy with Christian victims. Perhaps in the eyes of these judges rape of an ‘infidel woman’ is not a crime."

Where’s the outrage of the secular, bigoted, intolerant, atheistic Jurassic Press, Leftist Feminists, Statists, human rights groups, the UN, social justice groups?

This kind of barbaric outrage goes on all the time, but they don’t care…the victims are only Christians after all.

International Christian Persecution

Perhaps the Jurassic Press could spend some time covering these stories, instead of being apologists for Islam and Sharia Law.

News Briefs in Religion

Police in Lahore, Pakistan fired into a group of mourners at a Christian funeral in late September. The funeral was for a Christian man that had been tortured to death by police because he defiled the Koran. The man had a Muslim girlfriend and the girlfriend's mother turned him him with the charge. The mosque loudspeakers called for attacks on the Christian church in Jathikai, the home of Robert Danish, the Christian man tortured to death by police on September 15. The village church was attacked, several Christians were beaten, and many families had to flee. In this province a group called the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has come to power. They use their secular power to enforce their Islamofacist ideology.

Islamofascists in Somalia murdered Mariam Muhina Hussein because she was found with six Bibles. Al Qaeda controls much of Somalia, and the murder of Christians are regular events there. 69-year-old Omar Khalafe on Sept. 15 murdered for distributing Bibles. 41-year-old Ahmed Matan in Bulahawa, Somalia on Aug. 18 for converting to Christianity. Mohammed Sheikh Abdiraman, murdered on July 20 for converting to Christianity. On July 10 seven Christians were beheaded. In February a father refused to give up the location of a church leader, so they murdered his two sons.

These kinds of acts against Christians are world wide and growing. Islam, the 'religion of peace'. Sharia law. There are judges and legal academics in Europe and America that think Sharia law should be applied in addition to existing law.

By the Numbers-Christians Being Persecuted

About 45 million Christians were murdered in the 20th Century, and the 21st is keeping pace.

In Eritrea (Africa) all religious groups must register except those recognized by the State (as is in China). This became law in 2002 and no religious groups have been recognized since. About 3,000 religious prisoners are being held for practicing Christianity without registration with the State.

In the past two years over 30 Christian churches have been burned down in Nigeria, and about 50 Christians murdered. Hundreds have been driven from their homes.

In North Korea, if you're caught with a Bible, or are caught preaching, you're thrown in prison, indefinitely.

In Algeria and Egypt, there are laws that make conversion from Islam punishable by fine or imprisonment. In Sudan or Saudi Arabia, you can be executed.

It's dire in India too. Six Indian states have anti-conversion laws. In Orissa about 60 Christians have been murdered by Hindu extremists, over 108 Christian churches burned down, and over 50,000 have been run out of their homes. Before I hear the idiot statement about religion being responsible for more deaths yada yada yada, these are State sanctioned, not religion sanctioned. My blog disproving that idiot statement here.

In Iran, the Mullahs and Ahmadinejad have a pogrom against Christians. State sanctioned. Muslim sanctioned. All Christian print, even church bulletins are forbidden. Bibles not allowed. Preaching not allowed. Talking about anything Christian not allowed. A bill has just been approved for State murder of those that leave Islam.

Last, but certainly not least. There's been about a 400% increase in the imprisonment and murder of Christians in China since 2007. Even in the face of this, the Christian population is skyrocketing there.

Christophobes in this country cheer at the notion of Christianity being suppressed here. All the States mentioned above oppress, brutalize, and imprison their people, and not just Christians. Christians are just a good place to start. The reason being, the foundation of Liberty is Judeo-Christian. The State must destroy that; it creates a vacuum, a void, that the State can fill. Then the State, not God, becomes the provider of all things. Then we have the Soviet Union, Communist China, Cuba, etc. In Europe, Islam is filling the void, since Christianity for the most part is dead. Good luck with that.

Seeing all that, whew! sure glad we escaped the brutal Theocracy of Reagan and GW. (Yes, I have actually read Christophobe/Statist articles that said they were oppressed and suffered by that Christian Theocracy imposed on them.) I guess I missed the stonings, murders, imprisonment, forced conversions, and the murder of those that decided to leave the Christianity.

These numbers are from various government and private organizations. I'm not listing them, I'm just mentioning since Secularists, Atheists and other such Christophobes will say these are made up or whatever. Any challenges, I'll list.
