Through the Eyes of a Child (Original Christmas Song)

Straight No Chaser - 12 Days (vid)

Most fun 12 Days of Christmas ever, especially about half way through is a blast. Re-posted from last year.

Obama Foreign Policy

Obama, once again making events about himself, has left yet another overseas jaunt with nothing. Maybe some loses. Japan had a mission to refuel American ships participating in the Afghanistan war. They have pulled out. Did he get any agreements from China about reducing greenhouse emissions? No. China artificially keeps its currency weak, and will not revalue. They have the US economy in a jam as theirs get stronger. Why would they? Anything done about their support of Iran, including weapons and nuclear support? Obama talks about the US severely reducing our nuclear stockpile. China? Nope. Human rights brought up? Didn't hear a mention of it. Any more help containing North Korea? Nope. He attended a press conference and no questions were allowed. Say what? Any upgrade of our trade status with South Korea? Nothing.

Israel. He criticizes them but gives a pass to Hamas, Palestinians, Iran and their terrorists. Appalling. He went to the Egypt early in his administration, praised their 6th century civilization (what have they done lately other than wreak economic havoc on the world and support terrorism), and demeaned western civilization, the US, and Christianity.

He's reached out to Statist dictators, and marginalized our traditional allies. Good grief, in the Honduras kerfuffle his sided with the president that tried a junta, and spoke against the other branches of their government that prevented yet another South American dictatorship. Created sanctions that did economic damage to that already poor county, and the people suffered even more. Compassion Mr President? Doing so he sided with Communist thugs Castro, Chavez and the rest of the brutal oppressors of freedom in the region. In fact, dictators and their murderous thugs worldwide applauded his decision.

Do these dictators, the enemies of freedom, believe for a second when Obama says "there will be consequences" for (enter any threatening behavior) that he'll truly do anything? Obama gives hope alright; to the enemies of western civilization and freedom, that they can bring the America down.

A Thanksgiving Prayer

I praise Thee for the future crown
And for the present cross.

I thank Thee for both wings of love
Which stirred my worldly nest;
And for the stormy clouds which drove
Me, trembling, to Thy breast.

I bless Thee for the glad increase,
And for the waning joy;
And for this strange, this settled peace
Which nothing can destroy.

--Jane Crewdson (1860)

God Gave Us

I asked for wisdom
And God gave me problems to solve.
I asked for prosperity…
And God gave me brains and the strength to work.
I asked for courage…
And God gave me danger to overcome…
I asked for love…
And God gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favors…
And God gave me opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted.
I received everything I needed.
My prayer has been answered.

George Washington's Proclamation of a Day of Thanksgiving

"Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor, and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me "to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.

"Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be. That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks, for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation, for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his providence, which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war, for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed, for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.

"And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions, to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually, to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed, to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shown kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord. To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and Us, and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

"Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789."

Stand Up for Religious Freedom - Chuck Colson

Some Excerpts: "In New Jersey, a Methodist camp lost its tax exempt status for refusing to hold a same-sex civil union ceremony. In California, Christian doctors were successfully sued for refusing to offer in-vitro fertilization procedures for a lesbian couple. Catholic Charities in Boston had to shut down its adoption services because it was being forced by the state to place children with same-sex couples.

The current health care bill has no protections for religious medical personnel or health care providers who, by reason of conscience, refuse to participate in abortions.

So why is religious freedom such a concern to us as Christians? Freedom of religion is called the first freedom for a reason. Our founding fathers recognized that without freedom of conscience, no other freedom can be guaranteed.

Christians, in fact, are the greatest defenders of religious freedom and human liberty—not just for Christians, but for all people. Compare religious freedom in those countries with a Christian heritage to the state of religious freedom in Islamic nations, communist countries, and Buddhist and Hindu nations, and you will see my point."

Just a great article. Full article here.

Charice Pempengco - Note to God (vid)

I heard her for the first time tonight. I think she's only 16. Wow.

Catholic Rome (Vocations) [vid]

A great way to bring in Sunday morning, with a great organ piece as background while viewing our Christian brothers an sisters.

New Statist Blog Site Created to Attack the Catholic Church

Attacking the Church is nothing new for Statists, but they do seem to find new lows to sink to.

Obviously the Church, religious people, and traditionalists recognize that marriage between a man and a woman is the foundation of civilization. Statists want to break that down and destroy the institution of marriage; another tool to destroy liberty and have State control of everything. Recently Washington DC city council imposed same sex marriage on its citizens with no referendum. They just made the decision, and the Catholic Church spoke out against it.

In retaliation, Phil Attey, the Obama Pride coordinator in Washington DC., created a web site, Church Outing to find and expose homosexual priests. Attey is a long time militant gay activist. This guy thinks the church supporting traditional marriage, and not the alternatives, is a harmful new direction for the church. News flash! Two thousand years, same view.

Don't know if going on a search and destroy mission of priests is going to further the gay activist cause. The Church is having to close many social services in DC because those services, to continue, have to obey city laws which violate the Church's principles.

Glad We Live in a Post Racial America XI

MSNBC, Norah O’Donnell: “This is a largely white — almost no minorities in this crowd. And they`re here because they love Sarah Palin. I think it`s an emotional connection, Chris because they feel, too, that they`ve been beat up on, whether it`s the economy or they feel like outcasts. They like the outsider, if you will, in Sarah Palin. And that`s why people have been willing to wait, 1,500 of them, since 7:00 AM this morning to just get a glimpse of Sarah Palin.” (emphasis mine)

So whenever a black or hispanic public figure is speaking or book signing, do any Statist MSM reporters point out the race of the majority of the attendees? Of course, this is when O'Donnell had crib notes on 3x5's grilling people on Palin's policy issues. I don't remember O'Donnell or any MSM Statist reporter at any non-conservative meeting grilling people on policy. Who interviewed, and I would like to see it now, the nutty woman at an Obama rally weepin' and a wailin' with tears streaming down, how she wouldn't have to worry about house payments and car payments, and whatever else payments because the Messiah Obama had arrived. What's she think now. Everything payed up? How's that hope and change thing workin' out? Is she one of the 17% that are unemployed?

So if you support, let alone admire Sarah Palin, you're a racist.

Christians and Our Accomplishments vs Atheists and Theirs

We're getting into the Season, beginning with Thanksgiving, where we acknowledge what freedom, liberty, democracy, and Judaic-Christian values and principles have provided us. It is also the time of year when intolerant bigoted proselytizing atheist fundamentalists began attacking Christianity. I thought this year I'd jump in first. A comparison piece of accomplishments if you will.

We Christians certainly understand our sins. We understand we fall short of the ideal. We also understand we help each other work toward being Christlike, and reach out to others not of our faith in the process.

It was Christians that helped the poor in ancient Rome, that protected babies. In ancient times infanticide was prevalent. Don't want the kid, throw it out. Not just Rome, but this was practiced throughout the world. Christians stopped the practice.

During the plague in the middle ages, the sick and dying were helped by Christians organizing to do so.

Also during the Dark Ages, when western civilization fell apart, all the knowledge of the time was saved (recommend "How the Irish Saved Civilization" by Caldwell).
Monasteries formed centers that provided education and agriculture to the people.

Hospitals were created by Christians organizing to build these.

The fight to end slavery, a practice accepted world wide at the time, was opposed by Christians, led by Wilberforce. The end of slavery in the US, the underground railroad, organized by Christians.

The Suffrage Movement was begun by Christian women organizing.

The Civil Rights movement of the '50's thru '60's organized by Christians, led by Martin Luther King, a Christian minister.

I remember an interview with an atheist in the aftermath of Katrina, saying he had to hand it to Christians; they turned out in droves to help. Atheists didn't organize to help or raise money.

Currently millions of Christians worldwide are helping the sick, feeding the poor, with massive amounts of people and money helping AIDS patients in Africa. Christians are providing millions of dollars reaching out to the less fortunate. Thousands of Christians are on the scene, sacrificing their time and bodies to help.

All these good works, and the danger and sacrifice, is the result of Jesus Christ, God entering our world, and being an example of right and righteous living that is the foundation of all these good works.

It would be nice if this year atheists would let us have our celebration of our Lord's birth, without the nastiness of bigotry, intolerance and lies. As shown in these accomplishments, much good has been done by Christians. What good has atheism brought to us? Nothing, because they have nothing to offer, and when there's nothing to offer, there can only be the tearing down of what is good.

We're not asking Atheists to believe, just be nice for a change. You've benefited from all that Christian's have accomplished, we pose no threat. Just let us sing our praises, worship, and do our good works.

This is so good, such a reminder of what we are thankful for, who we honor and respect for protecting those things we are thankful for...I just couldn't wait until Thanksgiving to post.

Some Good Advice About Stress

A lecturer when explaining stress management to an audience,
Raised a glass of water and asked
'How heavy is this glass of water?'

Answers called out ranged from 1oz to 25ozs.

The lecturer replied, 'The absolute weight doesn't matter.
It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.
If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.
In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.'

He continued,
'And that's the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later,
As the burden becomes increasingly heavy,
We won't be able to carry on. '

'As with the glass of water,
You have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.
When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.'
'So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.

Whatever burdens you're carrying now,
Let them down for a moment if you can.'
So, my friend, Put down anything that may be a burden to you right now. Don't pick it up again until after you've rested a while.

Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

* Accept that some days you're the pigeon,
And some days you're the statue.

* Always keep your words soft and sweet,
Just in case you have to eat them.

* Always wear stuff that will make you look good
If you die in the middle of it.

* Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be
"Recalled" by their maker.

* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again,
It was probably worth it.

* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to be kind to others.

* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time,
Because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

* Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance.

* Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

* The second mouse gets the cheese.

* When everything's coming your way,
You're in the wrong lane.

* Birthdays are good for you.
The more you have, the longer you live.

* You may be only one person in the world,
But you may also be the world to one person.

* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

* We could learn a lot from crayons... Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today... I did .

Hell Explained by a Chemistry Student (funny)

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid term.
The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my God.'

MSM Worships, You Don't Get to Decide VIII

This shows what's important to the MSM. Not a multi trillion dollar govenment program every citizen in Amerika must partipate under penalty of fine and/or jail. Palin Derangement Syndrome reigns supreme.

Number of AP reporters assigned to story:
• ObamaCare bills: 2
• Palin book: 11

Number of pages in document being covered:
• ObamaCare bills: 4,064
• Palin book: 432

Number of pages per AP reporter:
• ObamaCare bill: 2,032
• Palin book: 39.3

On a per-page basis, that is, the AP devoted 52 times as much manpower to the memoir of a former Republican officeholder as to a piece of legislation that will cost trillions of dollars and an untold number of lives. That's what they call accountability journalism.

The Farcical Files

Here are some stories from around the world that just goes to show how well government anything is just soooooo marvelous. And there are people that want to turn their lives over to just the kind of people in these short stories.

Can't use the word "meep" at Danvers High School in Massachusetts. Been banned. It's from the "Muppets" and no one knows what it means. An attorney thought it so ridiculous that she sent an email with the offensive word to the school masters, and they reported her to the police. Meep, meep, meep, meep.....

There was a car accident in Dorset, England, injuring a child on a bike. The child had a fractured skull and the medics on the scene called for some help. The other paramedics were on break, and weren't allowed to go to the scene. Policy violation.

Dateline: England's Middlemoor Water Park. Man standing in shallow water got hit by out of control jet ski. Broken back and ribs and a punctured lung. The water was six inches deep, the man is lying there in excruciating pain, but the medics wouldn't fetch him, you see, because procedure said that the fire department had jurisdiction.

Don't take your kids here to play. In Watford Borough in England, parents have to stay outside the fence of the park, and their children will be attended to by government employees. Parents must be dangerous indeed. The knuckleheads that passed this law said it's to protect the kids.

Of course the knuckleheads in CA are passing legislation limiting the energy consumption of televisions. Not than anyone would think of going elsewhere to get the set they want.

And finally, about the government making the purchase of healthcare insurance mandatory under penalty of fine and/or jail. Some wit said, imagine the prison scene. "What are you in for?" "Rape and Murder." "What are you in for?" "Refused to buy government health insurance."

meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep meep

Glad We Live in a Post Racial America X

We're in to the tenth month of this presidency that Obama and his Statist supporters said would be a new post-partisan and post racial America. I think we can safely say that we now live in a post-president era. This guy has accomplished nothing but increased partisanship and racism from the Left.

Here are more examples of Leftist racism, in my tenth installment chronicling Statist racism.

Chris Matthews of "Hardball", of ever lyin' infamy with his guests Norah O'Donnell and Salon's Joan Walsh, on the racial makeup of the crowds going to Sarah Palin's book signings.

O'Donnell: "This is a largely white -- almost no minorities in this crowd." (She was reporting from the scene of the crime.)

Matthews: Well, they look like a white crowd to me." "I think there is a tribal aspect to this thing, in other words, white vs. other people."

Walsh: "I think you`ve got that same kind of paranoid tea party, maybe even birther crowd that talks about the Constitution, without really understanding what they are talking about." Of course, you racist rubes, you're stupid too! I mean really, why would you choose Liberty over being a ward of the State?

We have race hustler and extortionist Jesse Jackson chiming in. At the Congressional Black Caucus, “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”

There's a movie coming out, the TRUE story of Michael Oher, "The Blind Side". He was homeless, uneducated, and was adopted by a white family. They sent him to a private school, which got him educated enough to get into college where he was put on the Dean's List. From there to professional football player. Guess what? This is a racist movie because it's about white people helping black person.

Huffington Post, Mark Blankenship: “The song (in the trailer) is called ‘How to Save a Life,’ a title that suggests the trailer’s breathtaking paternalism.” (Paternalistic: A policy or practice of treating or governing people in a fatherly manner, especially by providing for their needs without giving them rights or responsibilities.) Does that mean these good people that helped this young man just gave him good grades, and he just happened to, without dedication and hard work, end up a pro football player?

Post racial indeed. We obviously live in a post-shame world too.

Thousand-Hand Guan Yin (vid, dance)

Faith and Love, Church, State, and Walls

I don't know where this quote came from, just that it's from the second century. It's about Love, and how those of us that proclaim God's Love, fall short of practicing it. Doing so has influence and consequences deep into our relationships; not just personal relationships.

“…we say one thing and do another. When they hear the words of God on our lips, unbelievers are amazed at their beauty and power, but when they see that those words have no effect in our lives, their admiration turns to scorn, and they dismiss such words as myths and fairy tales.

They listen, for example, when we tell them that God has said: It is no credit to you if you love those who love you, but only if you love your enemies, and those who hate you. They are full of admiration at such extraordinary virtue, but when they observe that we not only fail to love people who hate us, but even those who love us, they laugh us to scorn, and the Name is blasphemed.”

I wrote elsewhere today about the State, tyranny, separation of Church and State, and some of the personal decisions we make; denial of Love, or expressing it. I think that God is Love. At the macro level, the State builds up the wall between Church and State, between religion and State. The wall is in fact a wall to block Love. Is there Love in Nazism, communism, fascism, socialism, ancient Roman tyranny? Gulags, concentration camps, slavery, the murder of millions, holocaust? All these from a Love denying State. Christians and Jews fall short of expressing Love, but we try, know we often fail, and try again. The State, using brutal oppression or soft tyranny, has no Love.

At the micro level, I think euthanasia is a denial of Love. Abortion is a denial of Love. That is a child that will never Love, or be Loved. I think of sometimes people reach out to me, needing Love, and I don't respond because I'm busy, or irritated about something, or even don't like the person. That last is horrible to contemplate, its being so much in violation of Faith based Love.

And yet, I'm blessed by God, and full of his Grace.

MSM Worships, You Don't Get to Decide VII

Army Major Nidal Hasan, Islamofascist jihadist terrorist, and the MSM's response.

Newsweek Editor at Large, Evan Thomas : "I cringe that he's a Muslim. I mean, because it inflames all the fears. I think he's probably just a nut case. But with that label attached to him, it will get the right wing going and it just -- I mean these things are tragic, but that makes it much worse." Was there a backlash against Muslims in this country after 9/11? No. Have there been as many threats against Obama by the "right wing" as were made against Bush? No. Was there violence against Jews by Christians as a result of Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ"? No. Was there right wing violence at either of the protests in DC against ObamaCare? No. (They, unlike violent leftist protests, even picked up their trash.) Was there right wing violence at any of the town hall meetings this past summer? No. Not by right wingnuts anyway; the violence was a couple times when SEIU thugs beat the crap out of a couple middle class citizens. The MSM excuses the violence of leftists and the politically correct protected groups, but do talk about all the potential violence of the wingnuts (the term of endearment of leftists for conservatives).

NPR Statist Judicial Reporter (I was going to say 'court reporter' but they are actually accurate): “It really is tragic that he was a Muslim.”

Statist talk show host (yes there are such people)Stephanie Miller: "George Bush made many people around the world feel like this was a war against Islam by using words like crusade." (He used the term once, Islamofacist apologists were apoplectic and he backed down. He use 'religion of peace lots and lots of times.)

It's Bush's fault thirteen soldiers are dead. Its the way this terrorist thought he was being treated that thirteen people are dead. It's everybody's fault but the guy that did it. This guy pronounced himself a jihadhist and both the FBI and the military knew it and did nothing. He even presented a slide show and paper,“The Koranic World View As It Relates to Muslims in the U.S Military". But the MSM is focusing on everyone else. They are apologists for Islamofasicsm.

He may, said the MSM, be suffering from “pre-traumatic stress,” but had never served combat, and just thought he might be. Good grief.

Obama didn't want us to jump to conclusions. This from a guy that praises Islam and distances himself from Christianity.

ABC’s Martha Raddatz said, “As for the suspect, Nadal Hasan, as one officer's wife told me, ‘I wish his name was Smith.’”

Newsweek’s Evan Thomas (again): “...that he’s a Muslim. I mean, because it inflames all the fears.”

Army Chief of Staff. Gen. George Casey said he feared a “backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers." The Army Chief of Staff main concern is political correctness, not the mission of liberty and security of the military. "I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here."

MSNBC Statist Comentator Ed Shultz: "When somebody's down at the mouth and when somebody is not with the program, why does the military keep him and expect him to do things? Because you don't do that in private business. Well, (voice turning sarcastic) this is the military, well, wait a second now! You know, if they're absolutely our finest and we support them to the max, it would seem to me that there was a chink in the armor somewhere. Right? That's how I feel about it! That the vetting process of the military personnel was, maybe I'm totally wrong on this one, totally off-base and everything else. But, I don't know." Obviously he doesn't know. What a knucklehead.

The MSM's initial response was not so much about the murdered, it was about making excuses for the jihadist's terrorist act. It was their concern that he was Muslim. It was their concern about political correctness.

Dead Skunks and Armadillos

This vid is in tribute to Moderate Republicans aka RHINO's. Every time one of these knuckleheads rise in position in the Republican Party, we loose. Well, ya know what, the only thing in the middle of the road are dead skunks and other road kill. Nixon, on top of all his nefarious deeds, brought us the Dept of Ed and the Environmental Protection agency, and lost his office. RINO Arnold Schwarzenegger kept caving to the Dems and CA is now in deeper debt with more problems than when he replaced Gray Davis. Bush the First reneged on taxes, ran up deficits and lost the presidency. Colin Powell, a highly praised RINO once considered by 'establishment' RHINO's to be presidential material, voted for the Statist Obama. Michael Bloomberg of New York was a Dem that changed party's to ride in on Moderate Rudy Giuliani's coat tails. Then there's Shamisty Lindsey Graham that's supports illegal immigration and crap 'n tax. Let's not forget G W Bush that signed the first stimulus, with as much if not more entitlement programs and increased social spending as LBJ. And finally, drum roll, the biggest RINO of all, John McCain, the perfect moderate, loved especially by Dems, that led the Republicans to about the biggest ass whoopin' ever a year ago. Let's add a line to this song, dead RINO in the middle of the road.

DC Sniper to be Executed Tonight

Tonight "Beltway Sniper" John Allen Muhammad will meet Justice and be executed. Defense attorney Jon Sheldon doesn't think he's such a bad guy, saying: "I perfectly understand the families of the victims want to throttle him. It is hard to get a handle on the amount of damage he has done." "John Allen Muhammad is absolutely responsible. He's guilty. But there are glimpses of him being thoughtful. People don't want to see that. It's much easier to wrap him up into the thing he did."

Perhaps the families of the murdered don't think John Allen Muhammad all that thoughtful. One can certainly say John Sheldon isn't such a thoughtful person.

Our prayers for the families of the murdered: Claudine Parker, James Martin, James “Sonny” Buchanan, Premkumar Walekar, Sarah Ramos, Lori Ann Lewis-Rivera, Pascal Charlot, Dean Harold Meyers, Kenneth Bridges, Linda Franklin, and Conrad Johnson.

Some Vaguely Heretical Thoughts on Health Care by John Cassidy

The New Yorker’s John Cassidy wrote this. He's a Statist in support of the government taking over health care and health insurance. The difference is that he tells the truth regarding what this is about. It's not about health, it's about making more people dependent on the government. Below are some quotes, full article here.

"The future cost savings that the Administration and its congressional allies are promising to deliver are based on wishful thinking and sleight of hand. Over time, the reform, as proposed, would almost certainly add substantially to the budget deficit, thereby worsening the long-term fiscal crisis that the country faces. (emphasis mine)

The U.S. government is making a costly and open-ended commitment to help provide health coverage for the vast majority of its citizens. I support this commitment, and I think the federal government’s spending priorities should be altered to make it happen. But let’s not pretend that it isn’t a big deal, or that it will be self-financing, or that it will work out exactly as planned. It won’t. (emphasis mine)
Many Democratic insiders know all this, or most of it. What is really unfolding, I suspect, is the scenario that many conservatives feared. The Obama Administration, like the Bush Administration before it (and many other Administrations before that) is creating a new entitlement program, which, once established, will be virtually impossible to rescind. At some point in the future, the fiscal consequences of the reform will have to be dealt with in a more meaningful way, but by then the principle of (near) universal coverage will be well established. Even a twenty-first-century Ronald Reagan will have great difficult overturning it." (emphasis mine)

In the Begining Were the Words

Let's start with the premise that words mean something. In the context of Statists' firming up the foundation for their new oppressive vision of Amerika, on November 7 we were presented with the 2000 page, 450,000 word Rules for Obedience to the State.

The word regulation appears 181 times.
The word tax appears 214 times.
The word fee 103 times.
The word shall over 3,000 times.

The Dems, the Statists, are going to take more of our money in the form of taxes and fees, and we shall submit to their vision of how we take care of our bodies, and ultimately how we live every aspect of our lives.

Looks Like Those Christian Terrorists Are Back

I had written about Christian Terrorists!!! a year ago, about the idea of Christian fundamentalists and Muslim fundamentalists being equivalent. Since then the idea just keeps popping up.

The latest transgression is by none other than Harvey Cox, one of the most influential and insightful theologians of the twentieth century. How a thinker of his stature could fall to this low is beyond me. Writing in the Boston Globe, article here, about the history of religious fundamentalism, he drew the comparison.

Cox: "As the 20th century ended and a new one began, fundamentalism has taken on more formidable shapes, both politically and religiously. Though most of its adherents work through spiritual and educational channels, the small minority that turn to violence have caught the media’s attention. If some seem ready to die for faith, others are ready to kill for it, gunning down abortion doctors in church, hijacking planes, and exploding bombs at weddings. For plenty of thoughtful people, fundamentalism has come to represent the most dangerous threat to open societies since the fall of communism."

My observations in my previous blog show that the comparison is outrageous. In the context Cox puts it, the gunning down of an abortion doctor in church happened exactly one time. No Christian fundamentalist has ever hijacked a plane. Since 1972, when Roe vs Wade was passed, that's thirty two years, eight abortion doctors or staff have been murdered, all of them denounced by Christians. I don't hear any, well maybe very weak, denunciations of acts of Islamofasist violence by Muslims. The massive violence and terror is perpetrated by Muslims. Just look at the hard cold numbers.

I expect such nonsense from anti-Christians, but am very surprised that Harvey Cox expressed it. There's a lot of good observations in the article, and it's worth the reading time. I recommend his most widely read book 'The Secular City: Secularization and Urbanization in Theological Perspective'.

I'm just disappointed that someone I so admired since I was a teenager would say something like this. I'll just chalk it up to an aberration, and hope he doesn't revisit the comparison. Hopefully he'll correct it.

Our Insulting Classless President

President Obama, in his pitch to Democrats on the Hill today (from the New York Times):

"Mr. Obama, during his private pep talk to Democrats, recognized Mr. Owens election and then posed a question to the other lawmakers. According to Representative Earl Blumenauer of Oregon, who supports the health care bill, the president asked, 'Does anybody think that the teabag, anti-government people are going to support them if they bring down health care? All it will do is confuse and dispirit” Democratic voters “and it will encourage the extremists.'

So if you're against having the government control your health insurance and your health care, actually, every every every aspect of one's life, they you're "anti-government". A 'teabagger'; just to remind everyone, 'teabagging' is a male homosexual act. This is the President of the United States! insulting a huge segment of his own citizens. And if you oppose the government taking over your life, you're an extremist? This from the guy that is working with the Dems to overthrow the Constitution and implement every fascist and communist principle and idea he can. The man-child has no class and is an extremist Stalinist ideologue. Even the Clinton's had more class and were more respectful of the people of the United States.

Well over half the people are against this legislation. Get out the pitchforks and storm the (metaphorical) gates of the new establishment!

Da Pacem Domine - Monastic Gregorian Chant

How busy are we that we neglect our quiet moments with God? I had a hard time sitting for just six short minutes to watch and listen to this. Take ten. Your day will be better for it.

Ft Hood Man Made Disaster

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim, murdered and wounded a lot of people today at Ft Hood. He was a US Soldier, an Officer, a mental health professional, a Army psychiatrist that had practiced for years in Bethesda, Md.

Islam teaches that their religion comes first. Above all else. Including country. If I were a soldier, and I knew that a Muslim is fighting beside me, can I trust him? What does that do to unit cohesion?

What about Muslims in this country? I'm still waiting for the outcry and denunciations for 9/11. I'm watching news sources tonight, and not seeing Muslims denouncing, or showing grief or concern. NBC and CBS didn't announce he was Muslim. This is a case of political correctness run amok.

In WWII Japanese were interned in camps. A grievous act to be sure. To prove their allegiance to America, they joined in the fight, enlisted, formed a unit, and killed so many bad guys they became the most decorated unit in the war.

Compare that to what we have now. We have CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) an anti-Semitic organization that are apologists for anti-American Muslims and terrorists. That have funded terrorist organizations, laundered money for them, and who knows what else. Don't see any American Patriots there. Don't see any Muslims, rising en masse, to crush Islamofascist Terrorism.

I grieve for the lost soldiers. They were being deployed, many of the men and women for the third or forth time, to fight for and protect the freedoms of Muslims, as well as to protect this country from Islomofascists.

Glad We Live in a Post Racial America X

Trust the low life bottom sucking scumbag Keith Olbermann of MSNBC to turn today's Washington DC Capitol Hill rally against ObamaCare, DustyHarryCare, (Pe)lousyCare, into a commentary that if you oppose this massive takeover and control of your health decisions and care by a fraudulent, criminal, incompetent, lying government, then you're a racist.

Olbermann: "On an associated point with this, how do the organizers of this not realize, ‘You know what, we had better get somehow, even if we have to pay them to show up, some black faces, some brown faces, some Asian people or somebody in this crowd other than the crowd we were seeing?'" "Every piece of videotape I looked at looks exactly the same. This is otherwise going to look like a pro-Apartheid rally in South Africa 35 or 40 years ago."
