United States Budget Dilemma

This is related to my previous post  Democrat Non-Budgets and Other Failures about the failure of Congress and this Administration to pass a budget. Their answer is to raise the debt limit. Here's a vid that clearly explains the budget, how we cannot balance it, and the consequences of just letting things ride.

If you're not scared to death by now, it may be time to reevaluate your economic beliefs and values. Our national debt is approaching $16 trillion. Another $1.2 trillion, if not more is about to be added. That's $50,000 for every man, woman and child in the US. Three generations, if not more, down the road are in debt. There's a running debt counter about a third down the right side of this blog.

Democrat Non-Budgets and Other Failures

We’re coming to the annual budget battle in Congress, and the Establishment Leftists/Democrats will once again start their propaganda campaign of blaming the out of power Republicans for not providing a budget, or obstructing getting a budget passed, that they want to starve babies and old people, want to have dirty water and air (yes they actually state these as fact), create more homeless and deny medical care to everybody.

A budget is supposed to be completed by April 15, by law. The Senate Dems have not passed a budget since 2009. Obama’s 2013 budget proposal was rejected 414-0 by the House and 99-0 by the Senate. White House Spokesman, Jay “Bagdad Bob” Carney, in the opening salvo of lies about the budget and fiscal responsibility said, “It’s simply not acceptable to hold the American and global economy hostage to one party’s political ideology. It’s the responsibility of Congress to ensure that the United States of America pays its bills, maintains its creditworthiness.”

Republicans have offered four budget proposals, one of which passed the House and was rejected by the Democrat controlled Senate. But of course it’s the Republican’s fault. The failure of this administration and his political party to get the job done is being fuzzed up by the Democrat controlled Reelect Obama Press. Here’s a list of some other the failures by the Democrats and this Administration.

According to the Census Bureau, since Obama took office, real median household income is down $4300.

30% of the unemployed have been out of work for more than a year.

We are at nearly 40 months of unemployment at 8% plus. I remember Leftists screaming bloody murder when it bumped up to 5% under Bush, now it’s the “new normal” that we have to accept. That 8% doesn’t include people that have used up their benefits plus others that are no longer looking for work or are underemployed. With those we’re closer to 17% unemployed. I forget the exact breakdown, but of the past 11 or 12 months, the Administration has revised upward the unemployment stats from the previous month; with barely a mention in the Reelect Obama Press. If a company fudged their numbers like that, the would be civil and criminal charges brought.

The number of people on food stamps has increased 70% since 2007. Several Democrat "leaders" have said this is good for the economy. They've also said the unemployed spending their government checks helps the economy. Huh?

Home prices are the lowest they’ve been since 2002, foreclosures have skyrocketed, and home ownership has plummeted.

Just got your degree? About 50% of college grads are unemployed or have taken a lesser job than their degree would usually net them. Some of this has to be blamed on the ex-students that majored in things that don’t apply to the real world; gender studies, medieval lit, etc.

Gas was about $1.88 when Obama took office, now it’s up to about $3.89 a gallon. Note about myself, it cost me about $45 to fill my 13gal tank last week (actually put in 11.something). Obama and his Energy Sec Steven Chu have both said they want to drive energy costs up. I guess one could call that a success, at least for them and the Democrats.

Remember Obama during his campaign saying no new taxes would be raised on those making less the $250,000 a year? Two years into Obamacare, most of the $500 billion in taxes raised by the act have come from people making less than that. A small item, but remember the tax on tanning salons? Lot’s of little stuff like that is hidden in Obamacare, and there will be massive increases in 2013 if it’s fully implemented. As the first female ex-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said during the debate of it's passing, "We have to pass it to see what's in it." Well, we are now.

As of last February we had incurred the largest deficit in US history, about $30 billion. National debt now approaching $16 trillion! This president has increased that more during his administration more than all his predecessors combined. He’s added more debt in 38 months than Bush did in 8 years.

For this election, Obama, who rails constantly against the rich and especially Wall Street, has taken more money from them than all the Republican candidates combined. Beyond ironic, or something, that he rails against Romney and Republicans being in the pocket of Wall Street. They financed about 20% of his 2008 campaign, and they’ve already given more to him and the Democrat Party than to Romney and the Republicans this election cycle.

All this failure, and yet the Reelect Obama Press, Obama, and the Democrat Party will shamelessly continue to blame Bush and the Republican Party for them all, and in the next few weeks they'll threaten to shut down the government (again) because Republicans (again) will baulk at raising the debt ceiling without passing a budget. Citizens that are busy working and raising families and not paying attention to all this, will think it is so.

The Hypocritical Tax Cheat Leftist Uber Wealthy

Even Trump has jumped on this bandwagon; the wealthy should pay more in taxes. The obvious question many had when Warren Buffett wrote his piece and went on the talking heads shows was if he truly believes that, why don't he and his wealthy buddies just pony up. Why wait for the congress critters to pass more tax legislation? Mostly because they could get their tax lawyers to find ways of not paying. Lip service. They don't really mean it.

A non-partisan think tank, the Tax Foundation (attacked by ex Enron adviser and socialist Paul Krugman, which to my mind lends them credibility) ran some numbers, and found that doing what the Leftist wealthy like Buffett say, would have little effect on our economic situation.

Buffett, a hugely successful Capitalist that bashes capitalism wrote:
“But for those making more than $1 million there were 236,883 such households in 2009 I would raise rates immediately on taxable income in excess of $1 million, including, of course, dividends and capital gains. And for those who make $10 million or more there were 8,274 in 2009 I would suggest an additional increase in rate.” “My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress.”
I think they’ve been coddling themselves. If they truly believed this, they would not utilize the tax loopholes, written for them by their bought and paid for congress critters, and they would pony up on their own.

The study by the Tax Foundation found taxing millionaires and billionaires at 50% would reduce the deficit by 8 percent and the national debt by 1 percent. There have been times when the tax rate for these guys went as high as 90%, and we still had high debt and deficit. Taxing at 50% would only raise about $120 billion. Not much when looking at $trillions of debt generated in the past three years. Where that money go anyway? Are we any better off?

The study found that taxing the wealthy at 100% would only net $186 billion, reducing the deficit by 12 percent and the debt by 2 percent. A 14% total reduction, and we’d still be $trillions in debt. A 100% confiscation of the income of all making $200,000 and above for the year would net about $1.53 trillion; then what? They have no money to invest or run their businesses, and we’re still a couple $trillion in debt.

People like Buffett, Soros, Gates and the rest that advocate for this, fall into the Leftist hypocrite hall of shame with European entertainers that come to America and make $millions and bash our country and its socio-economic system from which they so hugely benefit.

To those entertainers we’ve said ‘shut up and sing’. To the lying Capitalist hypocrites advocating they be taxed more, we say, ‘shut up and pay’.

Dems Budget Plan to Save Old People, Save Babies, and Create Perfection in the Universe

The last post here observed the Dems had not offered any budget solutions of their own, only play the old saw about how because of the Republican budget proposal, old people will die homeless, and babies will starve, blah blah blah. Then it dawned on me, they do have a budget solution, playing the same old saw.

Raise the top tax rate from 37% to 47%.
Raise capital gains taxes.
Raise the death tax.
Raise payroll taxes.
Raise tariffs.
Raise small business taxes.
Raise corporate taxes.
Raise taxes on dividends.

Increase spending.
Borrow more money.
Print more money.

Right now every man woman and child in America owes $45, 903.
