May each of you have the heart to conceive, the understanding to direct, and the hand to execute works that will leave the world a little better for your having been here. -- Ronald Reagan

We are getting close to the time when the incandescent light bulb will be illegal. We will all be forced to buy the curly cue compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL’s) that are proving to be dangerous and toxic. Next time you’re in the store, pick one up and look at what you have to do if one breaks. You’ll need a hazmat suit.

Do you like your three way bulb? Bye bye! One light, one brightness, poor at that. Really, have your tried to read by CFL?

Will we be able to throw these mercury based light bulbs in the trash? They’re highly toxic. What if one is broken in a school, will the hazmat team need to be called in? What if a case of them is dropped in a work place?

Brandston: “The compact fluorescent lamp contains mercury,” “One gram of mercury will pollute a two acre pond. This 2007 light bulb standard brings a deadly poison into every residence in our nation.”
