From the Jurassic Press nary a word about Obama and the Democrats attack on The Little Sisters of the Poor and other Catholic charities. Not a word from them or the Pope about the Democrats just finishing a vote for late term abortions. No mention of the abortions by Planned Parenthood and the selling of body parts. Not a word about the genocide of Christians taking place in Middle East.  I didn't hear either anything about about Jesus Christ and his sacrifice, his shed blood by the Pope.

We did hear a lot about climate change (a hoax), immigration (an invasion), or abortion which has become open season on the murder of babies, which are Leftist's passions. Why is it okay for Obama and Leftists speak their anti Christian message and get support for it, but one of the leading Christian leaders must skirt the Christian truth about Jesus Christ, and give a message to Christians to encourage us to lead a life of imitation to Christ.

Leftist politics infect everything we say and do. What we say and how we say it. I often find myself defending the Faith to Christians. We Christians are being put upon, slaughter in Middle East and political oppression in the West. I had hoped the Pope would have delivered the Christian message and not cozied up to the Secularist message. Pope Benedict got in hot water with Secularists when he made a true historical statement about Islam, but who the hell are they? Jesus spoke against many in power, Apostle Paul was beaten to nearly to death several times, and with those models we're timid about speaking of the sacrifice of Christ, his shed blood and the meaning of that, and the meaning of Sin. Secularists decide what Sin means and beat Christians about the head and shoulders with it. In the beginning was the Word. We need to take the Word back, and proclaim it.  

Politically I was all in for Scott Walker. With his leaving the GOP hopefuls, I'm all in for Ted Cruz.

Some Favorite TV Series

"Justified"

A few posts ago I wrote about some popular shows here that I’d given up on after a few episodes or a season or so. There have been some that kept me intrigued and entertained.

“Longmire”, a Netflix series, has been thoroughly engaging from season one, and the beginning of season four, just released, is no different. Modern day Wyoming, rural, rugged plain spoken cowboy sheriff and a great cast of characters. There’s several murders to be solved, and the show is strung together with the mystery of who killed Longmire’s wife. The maid evil character is bad, smart and smooth, a deadly combination. Constant conflict between him and Longmire.

“White Collar” is smart, clever, entertaining. World class con artist working with world class white collar FBI special agent. The FBI agent is the one who finally caught the con artist. They make a deal and get other world class white collar criminals. A couple of those guys are especially evil, so there’s good conflict. Lots of interesting characters. What makes them who they are is revealed a little at a time, which keeps the interest going. There’s a lot of art history here too, which is fascinating and draws one into the story even more. It’s well written and takes the guessing and wondering up to the last scene of the last show of the final season. Just well done and classy.

“Continuum” is a Sci-Fi time jumping thriller. High tech, a terrorist movement to bring down the government, a dystopic government and culture, some really bad and really good guys on both sides.

Another Sci-Fi I like is “Defiance”. Several races of aliens attacked Earth, but we fought back and were much tougher than they expected. The invasion fails, much of earth is destroyed, and the grounded aliens and humans have to work together on the altered planet to survive and start rebuilding civilization. This isn’t a good good show, but entertaining and creative enough to follow.

I think far and away the best of the best of my favorite shows is “Justified” Every episode kept me riveted, happy, enthralled, entertained and fulfilled. Amazing characters, stories, top flight acting and storytelling. Based on an Elmore Leonard short story. He was executive producer and a few other things until his death. It was so good I went and spent a small fortune the main character’s hat as a tribute. (I started wearing fedoras in the early 1980’s when I rented all the VHS Humphrey Bogart movies. A tribute.)

“Vikings” is three seasons in, and is interesting and reasonably realistic. Don’t know if it’s going to continue, but I like it.

“The Glades” was fun. A tough sarcastic yet humorous Chicago detective has to leave the Windy City when he brings down some top brass, wins a huge amount of money in a law suit, and goes to work as a detective in Florida. Romance too, which I usually yawn through or get irritated with, but I found myself totally engaged with and actually rooting for when it looked like they would part ways. Good grief Steven I said to myself. At the end of season four, the detective goes to a house to check something, is shot by someone lying in wait. Massive blood is flowing from him. A and E canceled the show! What! aaaaarrrrrrhhhhhggggggg! he screamed!

“Suits” is high stakes legal drama. Very wealthy and uber successful lawyers, corporate takeovers and mergers, interesting characters. Thoroughly enjoyable entertainment.

“Arrow” is costumed heroes and villains, lots of action, intrigue, good story line and lots of fun.

Of all of these, “Justified” is my favorite, from opening scene of season one to final scene of last episode of final season. “White Collar” is my second favorite.

All of these are good story telling, good characters, creative, and just bring me a general sense of pleasure. None of them hold graphic gore and sex. I watch shows or movies with those elements, and some are good, but usually it’s not necessary. Sometimes it’s a distraction for me from the story. For example, “Spartacus” is a good story, but I could have done without the stop action blood spurting.

There are good stories/series on TV, and I think they have surpassed movies in the art of visual storytelling. Good grief, how many comic books are going to be brought to life with how many “Spiderman” reboots? Guys, we know, he was bitten by a spider. Enough already! I’m getting into pet peeve here; that’ll be another blog.

Labor Day Tribute to the People. "Let the Day Begin" - The Call

National Leadership of My Church Using Christianity and Scripture to Promote Secularist Anti-Christian Agenda

 The Leftist/Statist anti-Christian national leadership of my church, First Christian Church, are again (if not continually) taking a political position denying the truth and siding with Leftist racists while hiding behind their alleged Christian values.

They have continually been repeating the lie out of Ferguson that a cop shot down an unarmed black man, and that is only symbolic of cops just going around shooting unarmed black men. Truth is, black men are going around shooting down black men. Now our political leaders in church leadership positions, are using church money and Leftist support from within the church, are supporting the “Black Lives Matter” movement that grew out of the Ferguson lie.  

These “Christian” leaders, putting politics above faith, by supporting ‘black lives matter’ are supporting calling police “pigs” (vid), supporting the “New Black Panthers” and racist Louis Farrakhan, advocating for the assassination of police officers, and calling for all Blacks to rise up and kill whitey. Really First Christian Church members? I know there are a lot of Statists/Leftists/Stalinist in the church, I’ve met them, but siding with advocates of murder and genocide?

Today I skipped church for personal reasons, but next week I’m skipping for political reasons. The Leftists running our church have announced it’ll be called “End Racism Sunday”. Seriously. It’s allegedly in response to the SC shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church by a nut job. They even have “worship materials” prepared. There’s a “Ministry of Reconciliation” that runs year round and every year have donation envelopes sent to churches. There isn’t institutional racism unless it coming from Leftists like the Democrat Party and their supporters in the national leadership of our church.

The victims and families of the AME have moved on, voiced that others do the same. Leftists want to keep it going to perpetuate the lie. Gotta keep whitey guilty I guess.

Sharon Watkins is our General Minister and President. She’s an excellent politician, speaking out of both sides of her mouth. Saying on the one hand our ministers will have the choice of performing same sex marriages or not, we should be aware of the Bible saying love everyone, and homosexual marriages are monogamous, and have loving families, and are stable. Sounds obliquely supportive and PC. Scripture is quite clear. Homosexuality is not a good thing, and one should not indulge in it. Stats show too that guys that are hooked up are still usually promiscuous.

She had a prayer July 27^th, “Rejoicing in Christian love with Disciples couples and families whose lives are more secure today after the Supreme Court decision on marriage equality under the law - And praying over the deep distress of Disciples who disagree." She’s rejoicing for homosexual marriages because of the ruling of five unelected lawyers redefining marriage. She’s not rejoicing, but praying, that those with a traditional and scriptural view of marriage can deal with it. Seriously? This is a Christian leader?

She completely in her blog, took the Leftist, and lying view, of what happened in Baltimore, with Freddie Gray. Lies and nonsense.

A later blog, “In the six months following the killing of Michael Brown, an unarmed African American teenager, by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri"…no he wasn’t. He was a robber, thug and bully that attacked a police officer, tried to get his gun and was shot for his efforts. Not even the racist justice department under racist Eric Holder could spin or cover that up.

Beyond the over amped race issue, (it seems only Leftists are obsessed, it doesn’t even generate a thought in most of our daily lives) the leadership sides with atheists and secularists (represented well by the Democrat Party that denounced God in their last national meeting) that it’s justified to run people out of their jobs and destroy their lives if they don’t want to participate in homosexual marriage events because they believe scripture means what it says. I’m referring of course to the Indiana mess, when the leadership went against that state’s legislation to protect Christians, lied about what was in the legislation, and attacked it and Christians.

It’s obvious too these guys support the illegal invasion of people through our southern border. Part of this invasion is the exploitation of children to gain access. It looks like child exploitation of children is okay, along with the crime of invading another country.

Last thing is Sharon Watkins support the radical Leftist/Environmental movement, and so we have the “Green Chalice”. Our symbol of the chalice is red and “The chalice symbolizes the central place of communion in worship for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The X-shaped cross of the disciple Andrew is a reminder of the ministry of each person and the importance of evangelism” –from the DOC website.

Now we have a green one, all of which enforces extremist environmentalism. There are some good things in this list for certain, but is speaks to something not spiritually healthy. Here’s some of the things the green chalice people should do: Get an Energy Audit, Start or Enhance a Recycling Program, Use Real Dishware, Stop using Styrofoam and disposable dishes, Changing to efficient light bulbs, Install programmable thermostats, Start a community garden, Serving local foods, Plant Native Species plants, Plant Trees in the community, Participate in the Disciples Coffee Program, Purchase Eco-Palms for Palm Sunday, Weave Creation into worship in prayers, hymns, liturgy and sermons, Use Eco-Friendly cleaning products, Provide Eco-Tips in Newsletters, Install Rain Barrels for watering, Host a Farmer’s Market, Have a Green VBS theme, Partner with Local Organizations for Advocacy, Do a creation care study series, Observe the Sabbath.

This is the environmental extremist wish list, and I even agree, at least in part with some of them. What’s really disturbing is to “weave Creation into worship”. All hail the Goddess Gaia. Nothing like a little paganism to throw in with Christian worship. Remember the race thing that's supposed to be thrown in with worship too. Politics, Leftist racism, and paganism in Worship. Just want I want to see.

I've gone on much too long, blog postings need to be a quick read, but there’s so much wrong with the anti-scriptural, anti-Christian pro secularist support of those dedicated the destruction of Christianity, it all came bubbling up.

Some ask why I don’t just leave. Though there are a few that agree with the base political power moves and support of the Democrat Party and other Leftist agenda in our local church, they are few enough I can look past them. I have been shown too much love and respect, so much support on so many levels that I don’t feel it necessary to. I can only in my small way, pray the national leadership turn back to God, put Christ before Obama and his destructive anti-Christian agenda, and focus on what Christian churches should be focused on. Another blog on that I suppose. I, briefly, only suggest Aquinas as the guide.

Obama's Neglect of Our Military - Frightening

The reign of Obama has seen both Law Enforcement and Military attacked. The Left/Blacks are attacking police and even executing them, and the military is getting cut back to ineffective levels.

In addition to personnel levels being slashed, hardly anyone is enlisting. About the only thing our Dear Leader is on board with is letting homosexuals (now a PC blocked word so I’m joyful to use it) and transgenders, in along with all the other Leftist social desires being enforced. That’s about it on military readiness from our alleged commander in chief. The state of our military is a shambles. We’re in a state reflective of where we were before WWI and WWII. This is seriously disconcerting since the UN, Obama, Democrat Party, EU, China and Russia are all on board helping Iran become a nuclear power with the primary intention of wiping the Jewish people off the face of the earth. Not surprising given all of them are anti-Semitic. Yes, that includes Obama.

Since Our Dear Leader came to power, our intelligence assets have been pretty much wiped out, our military overseas presence nearly nonexistent, our military strategy reduced to letting ISIS, Iran, Hamas etc. have their way while he has drones flying around killing people with notable “collateral damage”.

When our alleged commander in chief illegally got involved in Libya (now it’s worse than when we got involved) by ‘leading from behind” (is there a more stupid concept of leadership?) he pretty much got our allies to withdraw any support for the US, or at least wholly mistrust us.

Of course Russia has begun again, under this administration, noting its lack of support or care for the military, its communist imperialism, and China is on the move militarily.

His distorted view of leadership has ISIS and Iran on the rise. He withdrew from the area, causing their rise, and he blames Bush. I said in the February after his election, when he was already blaming Bush, and has on everything he’s failed at since, that he’s not a leader. Anyone that’s been in a leadership position knows not to do that. A true leader simply identifies what’s what, and starts fixing it.

Our Armed forces have been decimated (fortunately not in the ancient Roman way), our military hardware (planes, rockets, military satellites) and our nuclear stuff is just flat out ignored and neglected.

Reports from the ranks shows demoralized people. That’s seriously bad. I was in the Navy during the Carter years, and attitudes were abysmal. Speaking of the Navy, we have the least amount of ships since the 1930’s; our first line of defense. Military strategists say we need of minimum of 346. We have 273. This alleged commander in chief has made it abundantly clear he wants to speed up America’s decline, and creating an ineffective, demoralized military is part of it.    

We not only are in bad shape, but in dangerous shape. I suspect China, Russia, Iran, ISIS and the rest of the emboldened enemies of the United States will be stepping it up in the next year plus to get as much accomplished militarily as they can with this alleged commander in chief that sees white people, conservatives, traditionalists and Christians more of a threat to America than any of the enemies mentions above.
