May each of you have the heart to conceive, the understanding to direct, and the hand to execute works that will leave the world a little better for your having been here. -- Ronald Reagan

Why Levi Johnston?

Levi Johnston is the low life bottom sucking scumbag that knocked up Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol Palin, and is now making a living badmouthing the Palin family. I know the gossips are amoral, but I expect better from "Entertainment Tonight", that did a full "serious" interview with the shameless despicable knucklehead.

In the interview last night he said that the Palin's are always fighting and are getting divorced. When Sarah Palin resigned from the governorship of Alaska he said it was because she was greedy and it's all about the money. This from a guy that's making money going around badmouthing a family that had welcomed him into their home, and were even accepting of him when he knocked up their daughter.

Now he's going to do a nude photo shoot with "Playgirl". Geez, think the guy wants attention?

Do whatever with your 15 minutes, but badmouthing a family that accepted you into their home, embarrassing the woman you knocked up, and spreading rumors is horrid. The guy has even said that Palin called her son, Trig, 'retarded'.

This numbskull has been on all the morning and entertainment shows. Why? I think it's because this is a way for the Left to keep attacking Palin. It's of no news value. It has nothing to do with the entertainment world. He's not a writer, producer, actor, or director. Hollywood is suffering from Palin Derangement Syndrome. This is a woman that has been married to the same man for twenty years, raised five kids, worked her way up to the governorship of a state, and has now written a best selling book. By any normal measure this is a productive, commendable life.

What do news and entertainment outlets do? Praise and support the loathsome, disgusting person that has not accomplished one thing except for hurting people. Demean and attack the person that has actually, regardless if one agrees with her religion or politics, leads an exemplary life. Hollywood, news and entertainment outlets and Leftists have no shame, but shame on them anyway for giving this guy a platform. Tell me again why this guy is being interviewed by an entertainment show?

Arguing With Liberals (fm "American Thinker")

Here's the high points from an article from the "American Thinker" by By Jeremy Meister. I've pointed out many times that debating with a liberal only devolves into being personally attacked and mocked because they don't listen, don't have facts, don't want to hear details, and think they should be provided for just because they exist. Here are some great points if you're a Conservative and once again trying to have a discussion, especially about health care.

"Personally, I'm tired of giving Liberal idiots sources they never read, reminding them of political promises now being broken, and pointing out the gross hypocrisy of the liberal Congress. Lefties don't care. They hear the word "free" and they're sold. Which is kind of interesting when you consider that they dub anyone opposed to health care reform 'greedy' and 'selfish.'"

"Talk about "greedy" and "self serving." Conservatives aren't the ones out there demanding that someone else pay for their health care/school/retirement/whatever. Conservatives aren't the ones out there demanding that the government use threats and coercion to force their neighbors into systems said neighbors might not like."

"A more obnoxious argument is, "You don't like government? Then you should pull out of fire and police then."

Yeah right, there is no difference at all between a 1,900-page Socialized Medicine law --which will affect all people inside the boundaries of the United States -- and local law enforcement. Not one single difference. None at all. Thank you for pointing that out."

"I've argued with tons of Lefties. Trust me: they don't listen, try to understand, or care. Everyone who disagrees with them is an evil racist, sexist, homophobe driven by intolerance. And that's why it's okay for them to go on narrow-minded rants: teabaggers, evil white males, racists, etc., without even trying to understand the arguments of the other side."

"They're going to try to impose their system on the rest of us, doesn't matter what we think or want. Never try to get in the way of Liberals and what they think they're owed by virtue of their existence."

No American Should Have to Choose Between Health Insurance and Getting Drunk (vid)

Hollywood Trying to Squeeze More Money Out of Bad Product

Hollywood makes worser and worser movies, causing their profits to dramatically diminish, so they're all in a tizzy now. I find it comedic since they are for the most part anti capitalist, pro gov, Statists. Expect them to be asking for a bailout like the newspapers are. Can't make a salable product? Instead of making a better product, inconvenience your customers (or ask for a bailout).

DVD revenues are down. OMG! Profits are getting smaller there too. The studios' answer is to have a period at the beginning of the DVD release where the vids are for sale only, before they are available to rent. The idea is that since sales generate more income than rentals, they'll try in increase profits (there's that horrible word again lefties!) that way, instead of producing product with the quality and interests their customers want.

These are the same knuckleheads that were against vids in the first place, at the time saying revenue will decline because fewer people would go to the movies. Now they think they can increase sales by temporarily withholding a product that's not selling so well in the first place?

Hey Hollywood. How about making some good movies? I see fewer movies every year, 'cause so much of it is crap. Quit pushing Statist ideology and tell some good stories without guts, gore (no not al's gore, I'm too squeamish for any more of that), bad acting covered by special effects, and rewrites. I think the Bamster's Pay Czar ought to cut Hollywood's actors', producers', and directors' pay by 90%. That'll help them pay for all the Statist programs they support. It may also provide some motivation to make watchable, enjoyable, storytelling, creative, innovative movies.

(and yes I know worser isn't a word, but it is fun)

Just in Case ObamaCare Misses Controlling Any Aspect of Your Life

Apparently the current leading environmental doomsayer is a professor of some sort from Australia, Tim Flannery. He's pushing for an international government to monitor every aspect of everyone's life. The House of (un)Representatives has passed 'Cap and Trade' which is the first step to total government control here. I previously posted how the new ObamaCare will gain control of almost everything. Just in case they missed anything, Obama and his Statist buddies in government and the MSM are advocating for this catch all Copenhagen proposal. Flannery: “We all too often mistake the nature of those negotiations in Copenhagen.” “We think of them as being concerned with some sort of environmental treaty. That is far from the case. The negotiations now ongoing toward the Copenhagen agreement are in effect diplomacy at the most profound global level. They deal with every aspect of our life and they will influence every aspect of our life, our economy, our society.” (emphasis mine)

Here are some of the extraordinary things being developed. Do you think the house you own is yours? Under cap and trade, if you sell your house, it must meet government mandated environmental regulations, or you can't sell. Doesn't matter if the house was built two hundred years ago or two years ago. Property rights are part of the foundation of liberty. That's being taken away with this legislation.

In Europe, surely coming to your town, is the “European Landfill Directive.” It mandates 'smart' trash cans. These have chips that monitor your garbage. These are being used by some towns in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. How long until the technology will develop that will monitor what is in your trash. What did you eat today. Too many chips? Call the Health Police.

Think going to the bathroom is a private act? There's a toilet out, the VIP (Versatile Interactive Pan), that examines your waste. I reported earlier the movement to require everyone to use single ply TP. It may be illegal in the near future to use soft cushy two-ply.

An important control for Statists is travel. Whether the Soviet Union or Communist China, the movement of every citizen is monitored. I say 'is' for the Soviet Union because KGB trained dictator Putin is putting back in place all the soviet apparatchik. The travel control being implemented in Europe, and I'm sure here soon, is that if you fly, in addition to frequent flyer miles, you will have to pay additional prohibitive charges for "excessive" flying. Of course Al Gore in his gas guzzling private jet will be exempt.

Thomas Friedman, a popular Statist writer, sums their view nicely: “One-party autocracy certainly has its drawbacks.” “But when it is led by a reasonably enlightened group of people, as China is today, it can also have great advantages. That one party can just impose the politically difficult but critically important policies needed to move a society forward in the 21st century.”

Communist China where there's no freedom of the press, no freedom of religion, no free speech, where the states murders, tortures or imprisons dissidents, regulates travel...yeah, there's a great political model. What were those stupid Founding Fathers thinking of creating a constitution that ensured liberty for the people? Obviously tyranny and totalitarianism is the way to go.

Newest ObamaCare Costs at a Glance

According to CBO (Congressional Budget Office), HR 3962 will force about 50 million people on to Medicaid by 2019. The projection before this was about 35 million people. Ten year cost $450 billion.

Health Insurance Exchange will be yet another new bureaucracy. That is where one would go to get insurance if you don't have it through your employer. Through it will be decided if one has to go on Medicare or can purchase insurance. If the citizen is 400% below the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) he will be required to go on Medicaid. If one gets off Medicaid he will only be able to purchase the cheapest, least coverage policy for the first two years.

The government will mandate employers' insurance coverage. That is, the government will tell employers what coverage they have to provide. There will be an additional 8% increase in payroll tax for non-compliance.

By 2015 employers with over 100 employees, can have their employees go on the public option. Paying the fines or taxes will be less expensive for companies, so be ready, if this passes, to have to give up the employer subsidized insurance you have now. Companies will save millions in insurance costs, and you will be forced to buy government run insurance.

Built into this are $700 billion in tax increases. That's to cover the estimated $1.05 trillion cost. That's to start. This being a government, you can count on it being at least double that to start and it'll grow from there. Medicare Advantage will be cut; seasoned citizens will feel this immediately. Medicare prescription drug payments will be reduced. Seasoned citizens again hit hardest.

Obama said repeatedly, until he announced for the presidency, that he wanted a single payer program. If this passes, by 2015, pretty much everybody not self insured will be forced to get health insurance through the government. Yet Obama and the Dems keep saying it's about choice and competition. What part of government monopoly is competition? The choice? Comply with government mandates or get fined.

Washington Post, an Obama supporting Statist mouthpiece, even says premiums will be higher for all. Article here.

If the government controls your health insurance, and your health care providers, they will control what foods, what cars, what doctors, what anything they want to control. And you will have the honor of paying them more for premiums, fees and taxes so they can do so.

Why Dogs Hate Halloween (pics)

A Craig's List Ad (funny)

AN ACTUAL CRAIG'S LIST PERSONALS AD (Doubt if true, be truly funny.)

To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last.

Date: 2009-05-27,=2 01:43 a.m. E.S.T.

I was the guy wearing the black Burberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on me and my girlfriend, threatening our lives. You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.

First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn't expect you to actually crap in your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason. My girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber Model 1911 .45 ACP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening.. Obviously you agree that it is a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head ... isn't it?!

I know it probably wasn't fun walking back to wherever you'd come from with that brown sludge in your pants. I'm sure it was even worse walking bare-footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again].

After I called your mother or "Momma" as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of what you'd done. Then I went and filled up my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station, -- on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 150 gallons and was extremely grateful!

I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!]

I then threw your wallet into the big pink "pimp mobile" that was parked at the curb ... after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver's side of the car.

Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone. Ma Bell just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for a little over a day now, so what 's going on with that? Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA's office and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible target.

The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc.).

In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path you've chosen to pursue in life. Remember, next time you might not be so lucky.Have a good day!

Thoughtfully yours,

Alex

Halloween - Some Thoughts and Some History

Some Christians don't observe the holiday (holy day) because it has pagan roots. An extreme view is that it's Satan worship. Possibly because I have no kids I really don't pay much attention to it. Another reason I don't pay much attention to it is because of the growing depth of my Faith, my focus has moved to a 'Hallowed Day' to honor saints and martyrs. I've seen this day move from the costume block party for kids that was part of my childhood, to a celebration of blood letting, torture and destruction.

I decided to take a peek at the history. It's long and complex, and it appears that it in fact started out as a Christian holiday, and perhaps even a Jewish holiday. I'm sure this may be horrifying to my atheist and secularist friends who suit up for the occasion. Things have the meaning we give them though, so apply what you will.

It appears the holiday was created by the Eastern Church in the 4th century to commemorate “All Martyr’s Day,” and was observed in May. Rome used to slaughter Christians, so the day was primarily in remembrance of them. Eventually people started having pageants and parties, and came dressed up as their favorite martyr. Others came dressed as Satan, Romans, wild animals used in the games that killed Christians, and other opponents of Christianity.

Over time that day became known as "All Saints Day". At the time Christians' and Jews' holy days began at dusk, so the evening before was “Hallowed Even’, much like Christmas Eve. That was shortened to “Hallowe’en”. So on the eve of the hallowed day, Christians went door to door to collect for the poor. Now kids (does this still go on?) go door to door for candy. Instead of "trick or treat" there was a chant, "Soul, soul! for a soul cake! I pray, good mistress, for a soul cake! An apple or pear, or plum or a cherry. Any good thing to make us merry. One for Peter, two for Paul, Three for Him who made us all. Up with the kettle, down with the pan. Give us good alms and we’ll be gone."

The Jewish linkage is the Festival of Purim, celebrating Ester's saving her people from a horrible holocaust. The slaughter was to take place in the spring, on the 14th day of the Hebrew month Adar. God, through Ester, stopped it, and that day became a day of celebration. Those two days, the eve of, and the day of, are Purim, a celebration. Book of Ester: "...as on which the Jews had rest from their enemies, as the month which was turned from sorrow to joy for them, and from mourning to a holiday; that they should make them days of feasting and joy, of sending presents to one another and gifts to the poor." The kids dress up in costumes of Jewish heroes and the persecutors of Jews, have baskets that they take to homes of others, and are given treats in return. I apologize to my Jewish friends if I don't have this exactly correct.

I think there's plenty here for both religious people and secularists. There are plenty of pagan connections too. Give it the meaning you want. Let kids have their fun. I will protest of course, adults using the evening to destroy things, celebrate evil, pain, torture, and bloodletting. I'll protest too parents that let their little girls dress up like sluts, street prostitutes and whores. I just now thought, what would happen if some kids went as priest or nun to school on Halloween instead of Satan or pimp or whore or ax murderer?

Yet Another Attack on Christianity in America

I've rented a few episodes of "Curb Your Enthusiasm", a Larry David HBO production, also starring him. A few episodes were clever and humorous, but I lost interest. Found formula, lost creativity. I'm even more glad to have stopped watching now. He is of course, a standard, formulaic, template, anti Christian bigot, Statist. I find it amusing all those guys in Hollywood think the same, and say they are "freethinkers" and thoughtfully independent. Part of 'groupthink' is to convince everyone that their ideas are their own.

In a recent episode of the show, David splatters pee on a picture of Jesus. Doesn't bother to clean it up. There are jokes about it. This passes for humor, and for courage too. Anti Christian bigotry is acceptable, so what's so courageous? Want to be courageous? What if that had been a picture of Mohammed?

More Attacks on Christianity in America

A few weeks ago I wrote about and posted a vid of music that a high school music group could not play, just music, no words, because of the title "Ave Maria". There's also the WWI Veteran Memorial in the middle of the Mojave Desert that intolerant bigots are trying to tear down because it's a cross. Both these cases have been sent up to the Supreme Court.

Another development in the high school case, in the form of a letter from an intolerant anti Christian bigot. The "Ave Maria", sung in Latin, (I know because we are singing it in our Christmas Concert this year), is by Franz Biebl. It's not the well known one by Schubert. I bring this up because the letter writer says just the title puts the words of the song in her head. I've sung it dozens of times, and I still need to read it. It's in Latin! Excerpt from her letter: "That melody is very familiar to all of us, and when we hear the instruments play, the words are immediately heard in our brains." "If secular people of all stripes, whether atheist, agnostic, skeptic or freethinker, don't speak out about these abuses...we will be no better than the Islamic jihadists."

This piece of music is soooooo beautiful, I'm stunned that anyone can link it to murdering Islamofascists. I wonder if she finds Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven" offensive because of the word heaven. Perhaps this needs to be scrubbed from the airways.

On to the latest bit of bigotry. Penn State is selling a tee-shirt with a vertical blue stripe down the middle of the front, and "Penn State" horizontally across the stripe. OMG! It's a cross! It's forcing Christianity down everyones' throat! The blue stripe is the same as on the football helmets. Based on six complaints, the Anti-Defamation League is involved. Thirty thousand shirts have been sold.

How ridiculous can anti-Christian bigots get? How intolerant? Liberalism used to be the idea of letting people live and let live, of acceptance. Of freedom of expression.

We have a cross commemorating Vets in the middle of the desert that you have to really really go out of your way to see, being attacked. We have a fairly obscure piece of music, without words, being attacked. We have a tee shirt with a stripe on it, being attacked. Good heavens! Oooops. Hope that didn't offend anyone. Good grief.

Congress and Wall Street (cartoon)

Can Obama and Congress Order You to Buy Broccoli? By Terence Jeffrey

Can President Barack Obama and Congress enact legislation that orders Americans to buy broccoli? If so, where did they get that authority? What provision in the Constitution empowers the federal government to order an individual to buy a product he does not want?

This is not a question about nutrition. It is not a question about whether broccoli is good for you or about the relative merits of broccoli versus other foods. It is a question about the constitutional limits on the power of the federal government. It is a question about freedom.

Can President Obama and Congress enact legislation that orders Americans to buy health insurance? They might as well order Americans to buy broccoli. They have no legitimate authority to do either. Yet neither Obama nor the current leadership in Congress seems to care about the constitutional limits on their power.

Full Article here.

Stupid Republican "Leadership"

The Republican Party "leadership" is supporting the Statist Dede Scozzafava in New York. She has ties to labor and supports card check, is pro abortion, gay marriage, not entirely supportive of a strong military, and a story is emerging that she's channeling campaign money to her family. Her conservative opponent Doug Hoffman has a problem because he doesn't live in the district and can't vote there. Where's the "leadership" here? Scozzafava was selected by party bosses; not in a voting primary.

In Florida Charlie Crist has made the 'lets make nice with Statists' noises, and his numbers are dropping in favor of former (Conservative)House Speaker Marco Rubio. As of this morning Crist still has a 15% lead, but that's down from 29%.

What these stories have in common is the battle inside the Republican Party for control continues. Conservatives and the "Rockefeller" wings have been at it forever. Last week in an interview, Newt Gringrich of all people, said we have to be a big tent, get moderates and independents in there. Well, we did that with Specter, Snowe, and a bunch of liberals like them, and what do they do? They vote mostly with the Democrats! Where's the sense in that? The Republican "leadership" allowed uber-moderate McCain to get nominated against the wishes of the majority of the Party, the core of the Party, and he was soundly beaten by a full blown socialist. McCain was and is still constantly reaching out to Statists, and ignores what his own party wants. Did the tent get bigger? No. It shrunk.

Does anyone ever hear the Dems do the same? Do they back down at all on their pro-illegal immigrant policy, pro-sanctuary city policy, government financed abortion policy, higher taxes, anti-corporation philosophy? Their appeasement of terrorists and dictators? Do they back down from their personal attacks on citizens that oppose their policies? Do they back down from attacks on private property? Do they back down from their anti-gun policy? Do they back down from using the thought police? They were in power most of the twentieth century, lost it for a couple of years when they were voted out, and were quickly voted back in.

What did the Republican "leadership" do when they had a chance to implement ideas and policies that are proven to work? Started acting like Statists lite. Soft tyranny is still tyranny; don't care what the party affiliation is. Plus they couldn't keep their zippers up. Hey Re-pube-i-cans, Dems have sexual license, you don't. Keep your zippers up.

The idea of limited government and low taxes appeals to the people. Being hard on the bad guys appeals to people. States rights appeals to the people. Support of the family appeals to the people. Enforcement of immigration laws appeals to the people. Traditional values appeals to the people. Supporting religion appeals to the people. Property rights appeals to the people. A strong military appeals to the people.

Republican "leadership" better wake up. GOP Chairman Steele needs to get some steel in his political spine. He's marginally better than his predecessor. I supported and had hope for him in that position, but he too 'reaches across the aisle'. When do you ever see a Dem do that? Gringich has become a disappointment too with his lame excuse for supporting Scozzafava.

As Michelle Malkin says, they're stuck on stupid.

Interdenominational Fight in the Church of Atheism

In our upside down world, the belief system that is the antithesis of religion is by law a religion; so ruled the Supreme Court in August of 2005. There has developed a schism in this latest religion, between militant proselytizing atheists and those that just say there is no God and leave it at that. Plus, in the 1961 case of Torcaso v. Watkins, the court ruled "secular humanism" as a religion.

All that leading to this. In September there is an atheist holiday called Blasphemy Day. One wonders how to be a blasphemer against something not believed in. From an article by Barbara Bradley Hagerty: "Some offered to trade pornography for Bibles. Others de-baptized people with hair dryers. And in Washington, D.C., an art exhibit opened that shows, among other paintings, one entitled Divine Wine, where Jesus, on the cross, has blood flowing from his wound into a wine bottle.

Another, Jesus Paints His Nails, shows an effeminate Jesus after the crucifixion, applying polish to the nails that attach his hands to the cross."
One guy drove rusty nails through communion wafers.

This is the source of the argument amongst atheists. 'Traditional' atheists think this will backfire. The idea that attacking and insulting a group with a different belief system only leads to damaging conflict. Their view is that regardless of beliefs, good things can be accomplished by working together.

I don't much care about what atheists believe; no skin off my nose. But when what I believe gets attacked by a bunch of intolerant knuckleheads, all bets are off. I'll not stand for it. I'm a Christian warrior, and will beat you down. I find it amazing that these guys are so offended by evangelicals and fundamentalists, then indulge in the very same behavior they find so reprehensible. Evangelical proselytizing atheists. Ha!

Prophecy Falls Short (pic)

I understand prophecy isn't prediction like most people think, but this is funny.

Glad We Live in a Post Racial America IX

The voters of Kinston, North Carolina, had decided they wanted nonpartisan ballots. No (R) or (D) after candidates' names. Thousands of communities in America do this. The Obama justice department, led by Eric Holder, have told that town they can't to that. The justification for this is that if there was no (D) after a name, African Americans couldn't win elections, apparently violating the voting rights act. Justice Department letter stated: “Removing the partisan cue in municipal elections will, in all likelihood, eliminate the single factor that allows black candidates to be elected to office.”

Acting Assistant Attorney General Loretta King: “In Kinston elections voters base their choice more on the race of a candidate rather than his or her political affiliation, and without either the appeal to party loyalty or the ability to vote a straight ticket, the limited remaining support from white voters for a black Democratic candidate will diminish even more.”

I wasn't quite sure whether to put this under 'glad we live...' or 'We Worship, You Don't Get to Decide' because most of the MSM has not, as of today, covered this story. Eric Holder has made it quite clear that he doesn't like white people much, and he's directed this violation of voters' rights while claiming he's supporting voters' rights. The government is intruding on the wishes of the people. They voted on something, and Holder and Obama don't like it, so they just rule and tell the people they can't do that? Got to ask, do all communities across Amerika now have to put party affiliation on their ballots? Are Black candidates only Democrats? Lots of issues of race, power, Federal government intervention overturning the will of the people. Lots of stories and issues here, not covered by the Washington Post, New York Times, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, ABC, CBS, NBC.

Yep, Still Makin' Fun of Obama's Peace Prize

Let's All Fail and Be Miserable Together

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that.

(Source Unknown, or even if it's true. Great lesson though.)

Satire Anyone?

"Conservative arguments against President Obama are becoming increasingly silly. They oppose Obama rescuing businesses despite all the jobs on the line, they're against government taking control of health care from soulless insurance companies, and they oppose increased taxes on energy consumption despite the sorry state of the environment. And why do they oppose these most sensible actions? Because of their irrational, brain-dead obsession with liberty. Of course, everyone likes freedom -- to a point -- but there are a number of loud, stupid Americans who just take it to ridiculous extremes. They hoard their freedoms like greedy little dwarfs hoarding gold when they have little actual use for most of it. People need rules and order and guidance, but they hardly ever need liberty. Liberty doesn't feed your family. Liberty doesn't heal you when you're sick. Liberty doesn't educate your children. A strong government can do all those things, but apparently that's against liberty. ... Just look at this ludicrous debate over health care reform. Of course the government should provide health care for everyone; how obvious can anything be? The government has the money and smart people working for everyone's interests to make sure all get health care, so why would anyone be against that? Because apparently people aren't 'free' to make their health care choices for themselves. ... Real freedom is not having to worry about health care, and that's what you get when you have the government take it over. Yes, you'll have little control over who gets what kind of care, but some people will just have to suffer some for the betterment of the whole. The advantage of having the government in control is that it makes sure the fewest number suffer, and those that do aren't particularly important. ... Most of the civilized world has moved beyond this uncompromising view of 'freedom' -- if they were ever foolish enough to adopt it in the first place. Can you think of any other country that would permit its citizens to have guns like America does? Of course not; that's beyond moronic. People know freedom is a dangerous, scary thing, and you have to be careful how much you tolerate." --Frank J. Fleming

Britt Hume Comments About White House Attack on Fox News

Quotes from Hume on "Special Report with Bret Baier". Hume is Senior Political Analyst for Fox News:

"It is a little hard to discern a strategy behind the White House campaign of criticism of Fox News unless it's simply this - an attempt to quarantine Fox and thereby discourage other media outlets from following up stories did originate here." "The White House is clearly stung by the revelations about former aid Van Jones. He turned out to have harbored views that were out there where the buses don't run and he was forced to resign. And the White House could not much have cared for the hidden camera expose of ACORN - an organization with which the president had a past association and one whose voter registration drives have benefited the Democratic Party."

"So the president's aides appear on other news channels to say that Fox, unlike those outlets, is really not a news organization but an arm of the Republican Party. One wonders how our colleagues at CNN and elsewhere like being patted on the head and given the seal of approval by the White House. These outlets already stand accused of being in the tank for Mr. Obama. Do they really want to open themselves up to more such criticism by ignoring legitimate stories because they originate here?"

"Here at Fox meanwhile the attacks have been something of a boon, especially to the highly opinionated and wildly popular Glenn Beck who has installed direct phone line on his set and invited the White House to call if anyone there has a beef." "So far, no calls."

Beck set up the line because the White House blog site has a section for specifically attacking Beck. So far not one thing Beck has presented has been proven factually wrong by the blog. It just attacks what he's doing.

This is part of Alinsky's 'Rules for Radicals', that political opposition is attacked and marginalized. Fox News ratings have been going up for years, and this latest round of attacks by the White House has accelerated the increase in viewers. Viewers of CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC and ABC have tanked.

Isn't There Just One Thing the Gov't Doesn't Stick Its Nose In?

These knuckleheads tell us what kind of light bulbs we can use, trying to tell us what kind of toilet paper we can use, and in California big screen TV's are getting legislated against. They're trying to tell us what kind of cars to drive. They're trying to get computers in our houses to control our temperature. Of course the big one, healthcare and insurance to link all the controls together. They got involved in major league baseball where they have no business. Turns out the NFL/Limbaugh kerfuffle had some politicos (Obama connections) involved. The latest attempt to control every aspect of our lives is college football; they want to force changes in the Bowl system.

Once again RINO's (Republican In Name Only) are involved, if not leading, namely Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) with one Dem. Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii). The Dem I expect. They are about control of the people. The core of the Republican Party is minimum gov't involvement, the gov't that governs least. grrrrrrr and good grief.

White House War on Fox News- 'It's About Control' (vid)

White House says it right here; using the actual words 'it's about control'. Obama holds the most powerful political position on the planet, and uses those resources to heavily attack a news organization.

Juan Williams Takes On the Race Baiters! (vid)

After showing the clip of the insult, Juan Williams talks to ex NFL player and Pastor Dr Ken Hutcherson, a black man and close friend of Rush Limbaugh, and Tammy Bruce, ex-leftist radical and leader of NOW. Great discussion.

"The Race Card, Football and Me" by Rush Limbaugh

Here is the article penned in the Wall Street Journal by Rush Limbaugh. Subtitled "My critics would have you believe no conservative meets NFL 'standards.'"

Opening paragraph: "David Checketts, an investor and owner of sports teams, approached me in late May about investing in the St. Louis Rams football franchise. As a football fan, I was intrigued. I invited him to my home where we discussed it further. Even after informing him that some people might try to make an issue of my participation, Mr. Checketts said he didn't much care. I accepted his offer."

Wet Pants

Come with me to a third grade classroom....... There is a nine-year-old kid sitting at his desk and all of a sudden, there is a puddle between his feet and the front of his pants are wet. He thinks his heart is going to stop because he cannot possibly imagine how this has happened. It's never happened before, and he knows that when the boys find out he will never hear the end of it. When the girls find out, they'll never speak to him again as long as he lives.

The boy believes his heart is going to stop; he puts his head down and prays this prayer, 'Dear God, this is an emergency! I need help now! Five minutes from now I'm dead meat.'

He looks up from his prayer and here comes the teacher with a look in her eyes that says he has been discovered.

As the teacher is walking toward him, a classmate named Susie is carrying a goldfish bowl that is filled with water. Susie trips in front of the teacher and inexplicably dumps the bowl of water in the boy's lap.

The boy pretends to be angry, but all the while is saying to himself, 'Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Lord!'

Now all of a sudden, instead of being the object of ridicule, the boy is the object of sympathy. The teacher rushes him downstairs and gives him gym shorts to put on while his pants dry out. All the other children are on their hands and knees cleaning up around his desk. The sympathy is wonderful. But as life would have it, the ridicule that should have been his has been transferred to someone else - Susie.

She tries to help, but they tell her to get out. You've done enough, you klutz!'

Finally, at the end of the day, as they are waiting for the bus, the boy walks over to Susie and whispers, 'You did that on purpose, didn't you?' Susie whispers back, 'I wet my pants once too.'

May God help us see the opportunities that are always around us to do good ...

Remember.....Just going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car ..

Each and everyone one of us is going through tough times right now, but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the faith.

This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for one another.

The Prayer:
Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those that I care deeply for, who are reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of Your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through Your grace. Where there is need, I ask you to fulfill their needs. Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings .. Amen.

Truth be told...

Football and Sports Media

A few weeks ago I posted an article about Tony Polamalu of the Pittsburgh Steelers and his religion. In college football there's also a devout player, 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, University of Florida quarterback. Tebow is a senior, and an up front evangelical Bible quoting man. He puts scripture verses on his eye black. His parents are missionaries in the Philippines. Religious man of religious parents.

It appears that sports writers (the same breed that excoriated Rush Limbaugh based on lies), are offended with all the religiosity. I guess football players that get in fights, get drunk, abuse their wives or girlfriends, are disrespectful and full of themselves, have the 'f' word every other word of their vocabulary, are more interview acceptable. Seems to me Tebow, Bible verse spouting and all is more of what we should look for in both an athlete and a human being. Can all that religious scripture talk get irritating? Sure. Sometimes even irritates me, a Christian zealot. So can 'f'ing this and 'f'ing that, and 'like' 'anda' 'ummmm' 'like' 'ya know' 'like' yada yada yada... be irritating? Sure. Why increasing negative comments about the religious guy? What about comments about the inarticulate thugs yammering profanity?

I suspect sports writers are like the rest of the MSM; Leftist anti-Christian bigots. Much of what passes for sports writing now is politically correct mindless meandering using sports as metaphor for political venting. I don't follow sports so much any more, but in my younger days I read, and even wrote sports stories, and I don't remember any political or social commentary.

Sports writers need to write about what's on the field of play. We don't care if you don't like hearing scripture and God talk during an interview. Just ask the questions, report the games, then shut the hell up.

Here's an example of the kind of bigoted sports writing I'm talking about.

Obama To Enter Diplomatic Talks With Raging Wildfire

Great laughter had I when watching this (channeling Yoda)

Office of Readings – OOR {A Discovery for Me}

I'm a main stream Protestant in my religious practice. I do have, and have read much of, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and "Crossing the Threshold of Hope" by John Paul II. I attended my first Mass about three years ago I think, and have been to a couple since. It's a good thing. Sometimes I do feel Catholic, which is almost a nonsensical statement, but just let the concept wash over you.

I've recently discovered the Office of Readings, which is or includes four volumes of Liturgy of the Hours. I'm not certain yet what all this is. There are web sites one can go to for daily readings.

I just wanted to share this beautiful passage I found, that seeped through me, embraced me, washed over me, comforted me. All of us have these incredible struggles, and when I lift my eyes to Him, open my heart to Him, I feel better for it. This passage is written by the Benedictine Abbot Saint Columban. Not knowing the structure, I think this is a reading and a response.

"How blessed, how fortunate, are those servants whom the Lord will find watchful when he comes. Blessed is the time of waiting when we stay awake for the Lord, the Creator, who fills all things and transcends all things.

How I wish he would awaken me, his humble servant, from the sleep of slothfulness, even though I am of little worth. How I wish he would enkindle me with that fire of divine love. The flames of his love burn beyond the stars; the longing for his overwhelming delights and the divine fire ever burn within me!

How I wish I might deserve to have my lantern always burning at night in the temple of my Lord, to give light to all who enter the house of my God. … Give your light to my lantern, I beg you, my Jesus, so that by its light I may see that holy of holies which receives you as the eternal priest entering among the columns of your great temple. May I ever see you only, look on you, long for you; may I gaze with love on you alone, and have my lantern shining and burning always in your presence."

This is a prayer or response to it:

"The sun shall no longer be your light by day,
nor shall the brightness of the moon shine on you at night.
–The Lord shall be your everlasting light,
and your God shall be your glory.

Your sun shall never set,
nor shall your moon withdraw.
–The Lord shall be your everlasting light,
and your God shall be your glory."

The Woman, The Dems, and Freebies

"Police say an Ohio woman being driven around in a limousine announced at a coat store she'd won the lottery and would pay for everyone's purchases but ended up causing a riot when customers realized it was a hoax," reports the Associated Press. For some reason, that made us think of the limousine liberals in Congress promising health insurance for everyone. More from the AP: "Columbus police Lt. Michael Deakins says the woman announced Tuesday she'd spend $500 on everyone at a Burlington Coat Factory, prompting customers to gather at registers and call relatives. When police arrived, 500 people filled the store and another 1,000 were outside." That's nothing. According to Democrats, 47 million "Americans" (or is it 30 million -- we never can keep track of their statistics) are beating down the doors and demanding ObamaCare for all.

"Cashiers rang up sales before discovering the woman had no money. Angry customers grabbed clothes without paying," said the AP report. These thieves, no doubt, were Democrat constituents. And finally, the woman was arrested on three other warrants but hasn't yet been charged for the coat chaos, "pending a mental health evaluation." Before any more is done with ObamaCare, perhaps we should schedule 535 of those same evaluations for Congress.

Segregation in the NFL

Not That He Needs More Defenders

I've been listening to Rush, when I can, since '90 or '91. There was a caller then that wondered if he could say those things; wouldn't the government come after him? I remember too that his immediate detractors said he couldn't really believe those things, it was just showmanship, a ratings gainer for racists, bigots, homophobes, yada yada yada. Nobody but kooks could believe those things. Twenty one years later the hatred and vitriol of the Left, now being led by the Statist government, has reached screeching proportions.

I remember him satirizing about the cuts (actually a reduction of the percent of increase)in programs the mean Republicans were advocating for the elderly, that our seasoned citizens would be reduced to eating dog food. He said he was going to feed his mother dog food, and it was reported as news as if this were a fact. A lot of what Limbaugh says is parody or satire, and the Statist media portray it as a serious statement. That's how it's gone since the beginning. Lies by people with a Statist agenda that don't listen to his program.

These last charges, led by racists and extortionists Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, based on "quotes" that were never said by Limbaugh, and repeated over and over, had no intention of doing anything other than try to shut up a US citizen. The quote attributed to Mark Twain, that lies get around the world before truth gets its boots on is policy for Leftists; keep repeating the lies. They only believe in free speech if that speech agrees with their tyrannical ideology.

Over the years Limbaugh has suffered comments like he's a “troll under the bridge,” a “human vat of vitriol,” and a “car-wreck-quality spectacle.” Personal insults the Left say shouldn't be used. Every once in a while I listen to left wing radio, and it appears part of their regular programming is insulting Limbaugh. Almost to the man/woman, the phrase, 'drug addict' is put before Rush Limbaugh's name. Isn't the Left supposed to be the standard of understanding and forgiveness? The guy went to rehab, apologized, said and did, by right action and behavior, all that could possibly be done. Hey Lefties, where's your compassion that you extol?

Al Sharpton has led mobs that destroyed property, caused someone to be murdered, and was given a pass on Tawana Brawley. Jesse Jackson has made millions through extortion. These are crimes. Limbaugh is a political commentator, yet he's the one treated like a criminal. The MSM readership and viewership is tanking because of that support, by being propagandists for the Statist government, yet they continue on with it. This latest attack is despicable, even by their low moral and hypocritical standards.

Feeling More Secure?

Obama is going to give the Communist Chinese access to our missile technology. Space Systems/Loral and Hughes Electronics Corp in the late nineties were caught and fined for doing the same thing, and now we have the administration doing it. The 1999 Defense Authorization Act was written so that the President must report such transactions to Congress for approval. The Commerce Secretary Gary Locke will make those decisions now. Given the number of communists that this administration has hired, I have to wonder about the political philosophy of Gary Locke. A vid of White House Communications Director Anita Dunn surfaced yesterday praising Mao. Plus communist Van Johnson who is now gone. There are more, but not the point of this post. When the above companies gave up secret technologies the Dept of Commerce was in control, and their purpose is to promote trade. I have to wonder why this Administration wants to give away technology, specifically missile technology, to a belligerent nation. This was done at the end of September; anyone hear or read about it in the MSM? This is a huge story. Plus, China is the only country to use a missile to shoot down a satellite. They have shown they have the technology and know how to shoot down satellites, and can easily cripple the US communication system, both military and civilian. He wants to contribute to this kind of attitude and behavior? Isn't he, as Commander in Chief supposed to provide security, not weaken it? Did I misread that part of the Constitution stating what his duties are?

Rush Limbaugh caller "Susan in Glendale" talks to PNN (vid)

Susan is right on all counts. This is the face of middle America, and a true reaction to the Statists ramming their liberty denying agenda though. Of course the Statist press does as she says, and demeans her, like they did Joe the Plummer. Not the issues, but the personal attack. That's because Statists can't win arguments on their merits. They can only repeat lies and attack people. Good job Susan from Glendale.

A Woman and a Fork

There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live. So as she was getting her things "in order," she contacted her Pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in.

Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young woman suddenly remembered something very important to her. "There's one more thing," she said. "What's that?" "This is very important," she continued. "I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand."

The Pastor stood looking at her, not knowing quite what to say. That surprises you, doesn't it?" she asked. "Well, to be honest, I'm puzzled by the request," said the Pastor. She explained, "My grandmother once told me this story, and from that time on I have always tried to pass along its message to those I love and those who are in need of encouragement. In all my years of attending socials and dinners, I always remember that when the dishes of the main course were being cleared, someone would inevitably lean over and say, 'Keep your fork.' It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was coming....like velvety chocolate cake or deep-dish apple pie. Something wonderful, and with substance!'

So, I just want people to see me there in that casket with a fork in my hand and I want them to wonder "What's with the fork?" Then I want you to tell them: "Keep your fork, the best is yet to come." The Pastor's eyes welled up with tears of joy as he hugged the young woman good-bye. He knew this would be one of the last times he would see her before her death. But he also knew that she had a better grasp of heaven than he did. She had a better grasp of what heaven would be like than many people twice her age, with twice as much experience and knowledge. She KNEW that something better was coming.

At the funeral people were walking by the young woman's casket and they saw the cloak she was wearing and the fork placed in her right hand. Over and over, the Pastor heard the question, "What's with the fork?" And over and over he smiled. During his message, the Pastor told the people of the conversation he had with her shortly before she died. He also told them about the fork and about what it symbolized to her. He told the people how he could not stop thinking about the fork and told them that they probably would not be able to stop thinking about it either. He was right.

So the next time you reach down for your fork let it remind you that the best is yet to come. Friends are a very rare jewel. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us. Show your friends how much you care. Remember to always be there for them, even when you need them more. For you never know when it may be their time to "Keep your fork." Cherish the time you have, and the memories you share. Being friends with someone is not an opportunity but a sweet responsibility.

Glad We Live in a Post Racial America VIII

Talking about Limbaugh's trying to be part owner of the Rams, Pulitzer Prize winner(those are about worth as much as Nobel Peace Prize, with as many scoundrels and liars winning)Karen Hunter: "I can just see the visions of plantation grandeur dancing in his head as we speak." "Yeah, it doesn't make you a racist to want to own a team. But, it does kind of with all his history question his power position over these players who make millions of dollars and his ability to be able to move them around, deny them contracts and do whatever he wants willy-nilly. It's the ultimate power position to be an owner of an NFL team."

ABC's Robin Roberts: "Opponents say Limbaugh has a history of making racially offensive comments, some directed squarely at NFL players." Nothing to back the charge up, vids, transcripts or the players themselves saying this.

Jarvis Tyner, executive vice chair of the Communist Party USA. "Limbaugh is a racist. He is the radio personality that said that Martin Luther King’s assassin James Earl Ray should get the Medal of Honor!" Where's the vids, the transcripts, the recording? Foxsports.com, Scott Whitlock used this quote to justify blocking Limbaugh's buying the Rams.

CNN, Rick Sanchez: “Limbaugh’s perceived racist diatribes are too many to name. Here’s a sample- he once declared that ‘slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back. I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.’” Where's the transcript, the vid, the audio?

Limbaugh: "..slavery had its merits." Source? James Farrior of the Pittsburgh Steelers." Quoted as fact on MSNBC. Where's the vid, audio, transcript?

Alleged sports writer, Dave Zirin: Limbaugh's purchase is "...about having somebody in an NFL owners box who [players] know views them with naked and open contempt because of the color of their skin."

There's so much more, I could spend much of the evening dredging this racist junk. Leftists cannot win arguments, cannot support their actions and vile tongues. They can only attack and have played the race card over and over to the umpteenth power.

I want to see this demand from Brent Bozell addressed: "CNN and MSNBC must immediately and publicly source when Limbaugh uttered this phrase. He has unequivocally denied it. Now it is up to the same news media that reported it as fact to prove that it was, indeed, stated." This is the phrase attributed to Limbaugh: “Slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back. I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark”. Vid? Transcript? Audio? Anyone?

And of course, what would you expect, racist race baiters and shakedown scam artists Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have weighed in saying blah blah blah racist blah blah blah blah racist blah blah...

Taking the Kids to See "Where the Wild Things Are"?

Here's an interview with writer Maurice Sendak and director Spike Jonze. One would be hard pressed to find two people as intolerant and dismissive of parents and their children.

Reporter:"What do you say to parents who think the Wild Things film may be too scary?"

Sendak: "I would tell them to go to hell. That's a question I will not tolerate."

Reporter: "Because kids can handle it?"

Sendak: "If they can't handle it, go home. Or wet your pants. Do whatever you like. But it's not a question that can be answered."

Jonze: "Dave, you want to field that one?"

Eggers: "The part about kids wetting their pants? Should kids wear diapers when they go to the movies? I think adults should wear diapers going to it, too. I think everyone should be prepared for any eventuality."

Sendak: "I think you're right. This concentration on kids being scared, as though we as adults can't be scared. Of course we're scared. I'm scared of watching a TV show about vampires. I can't fall asleep. It never stops. We're grown-ups; we know better, but we're afraid."

Reporter: "Why is that important in art?"

Sendak: "Because it's truth. You don't want to do something that's all terrifying. I saw the most horrendous movies that were unfit for child's eyes. So what? I managed to survive."

Yeah, Sendak survived, as did Jonze, but look at what kind of low life knuckleheads they turned out to be.

Heritage Foundation Fiscal Analysis of ObamaCare

Throughout his campaign, and even in to the first few months in office, President Barack Obama repeatedly promised the American people that his health care plan would reduce their health insurance premiums by $2,500 a year. It has been a while since President Obama made that promise, and any honest look at the health legislation being considered in Congress explains why.

The Senate Finance Committee bill written by Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) (the Baucus bill) first drives up the cost of health insurance for all Americans and then forces everyone to buy it or face tax penalties or jail time. While the Baucus bill does cap out-of-pocket costs based on a person’s income, the effect on American families is still staggering. According to the Center for Data Analysis, the Baucus bill would:

For individuals making $34,140 (three times the Federal Poverty Level) the Baucus health care proposal could mandate up to $4,097 in annual premiums, a sum which could have been spent on over nine months of food, almost four months of housing or well over a year of utilities.

For a family of four making $69,480 (300% above poverty) the Baucus bill mandates annual health insurance premiums of $8,338, which would be worth the equivalent of over ten months of food, four months of housing or almost two years of utilities.

For individuals earning $45,520(400% above poverty) Baucus mandates $5,462 for health insurance, or over a year of food, four months of rent or a year and a half of utilities.

For families earning $92,640 (400% above poverty) Baucus mandates $11,117 in health premiums, the equivalent of over a year of food, five months of housing or two years of utilities.

And those numbers include the subsidies for health insurance in the Baucus bill. To pay for all this new health care spending, plus the massive expansion of Medicaid, the Congressional Budget Office estimates that the Baucus bill will collect $4 billion in fines from those who do not purchase insurance, $200 billion taxing health insurance companies with generous health plans, and $25 billion in taxes on employers. Not to mention the billions in cuts to Medicare payments to hospitals which will result in significant cost shifting to consumers.

PricewaterhouseCoopers has done a study on what all these new taxes and regulations will do to Americans health insurance premiums and the results are not pretty. Instead of reducing the average family’s health insurance premiums by $2,500 per year, as President Obama promised, the Baucus bill would actually raise them by $4,000 more than they would have been without reform.

The Baucus bill spends at least $1 trillion, fails to cover all Americans, taxes employers for creating jobs, and inflicts higher out-of-pocket health care costs on all Americans. We can do better.

Nixon Had An Enemies List Too

On Obama's enemies list is Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, insurance companies (ObamaCare destroys them), Wall Street, the military (months of refusing to listen to his generals on any military subject), Conservative Media, Malkin, Beck, and most recently Conservative and Libertarian bloggers. Nixon got in a lot of trouble targeting individuals and specific groups that opposed him. Obama will too. The White House using tax payer money to have a blog, and hiring political hatchet men and women to attack citizens and private organizations is over the top. The MSM attacked Nixon for doing this. Have you heard a word from them about Obama doing the same thing? No. And you won't.

Link here to Fox News Report Vid regarding the directed attack of the Obama White House on a specific news organization.
