The Myth We've Moved From Homogenized to Multicultural Nation, When It's the Other Way Around

Some thoughts on diversity; some on tolerance, but mostly diversity. This is all a hat tip to the writings of Charles Murray (from the latest issue of “Commentary” magazine, see also his book Coming Apart).

There is, and has been, much miseducation from history teachers to the Media (who are usually misinformed and relay that, or willfully misinform to fit their ideology). The standard idea is that the beginning of America, the population was homogenous. White Europeans with the same beliefs and ideologies. But, first were the Puritans, a pretty strict group. Then came the Cavaliers, most seriously poor and came as indentured servants, not so strict. Then came the Quakers. Then came the Scots, who where pretty fee wheeling. They all had major different ideologies and practices. Subcultures that allowed each other, tolerated each other, and for the most part worked together. There were of course some conflicts.

They had serious differences, and one could say this was multicultural country. Religion, family, food, what behaviors were accepted or punished, and sex were all different. They were as different as any of the ethnic differences we experience in today’s society. Over the years millions of Irish and Germans came. Big cultural differences. Many of the early settlers were escaping religious persecution. Now there was an influx of Catholics into what had been exclusively a Protestant population. Then there were the Scandinavians. Then after the Civil War, Black culture began to emerge. Now we have a huge multicultural population. Then the influx of Italians, Eastern Europeans, and Russians. Yet more cultural diversity, multiculturalism.

There followed a break in immigration due to law changes and the First World War. That slowed things down. With WWII, out of a population of 131 million, about 18 million served. All thrown together. All kinds of socio-economic diversity was combined. Radio and TV drew people together more as those developed and gained influence.

All that diversity, all the multiculturalism happening. Yet people did share some things in common. Beyond that folks just wanted to be left alone, and be part of the uniqueness of their specific subculture too. It’s been like that for a while. It looks like now we have four major subcultures in play; Latinos, Whites, Blacks, Asians. Demographic projections show Whites being a minority by 2050. Up until the last decade or so, each group and the more minor ones had let others live and let live.

There could be a continuation of the multiculturalism, diversity and tolerance that existed at the beginning. (No it was not pure and smooth sailing.) Each group has pretty much the same geographic areas as they’ve always had. Latinos are still mostly in the Southwest for example. It turns out where one lives is the primary determining factor of multiculturalism.

In a big city, most of your contacts are secondary, your life hassles, bills, trash pickup, police, fire, and courts are taken care of by faceless bureaucrats. In most of the county, which have smaller towns (500,000 and less [18% of towns are under 25,000]), people are known to each other, or they know of each other. That includes the politicians and bureaucrats. This last group of people in smaller towns and cities are reminded daily that they are in fact servants of the people. They live with them, see them, and are associated with them in many ways. So there’s some bending of rules and accommodations made. In metropolises there’s enforcement without flexibility by faceless people.

Now comes the sad part. The big city people have a mindset, and have gained the power, to enforce their political and cultural view on everybody across the fruited plain. [Mostly from the Northeast corridor and West Coast.] They think everyone should have the same worldview as them. It’s an inflexible view, and the people are secondary. Apparently there must be a lot of necessary supervision and oversight in these big urban populations. Not so much with smaller populations.

So we have everyone being forced to be pro-homosexual, pro-gay marriage, accepting of ‘climate change’ and intolerant of those who disagree that ‘climate change is happening because of humans', Liberal and intolerant of Conservatives, Secularist and intolerant of Christians, intolerant of traditional mores and values, and all in for “Progressivism”, or else. That or be hounded out of job, income, family destroyed.

This country was founded on the idea you could live the life you wanted, believe what you will, and allow others to do the same. That apparently is now longer allowed. You must obey the urban based values and principles, central government, and entertainment elites.

The Indiana Kefuffle and the Government & MSM Movement to Destroy Christianity

Usually I let the bullying Left, the Democrats and the rest, that want to throw out the Constitution, not let me get so pissed off. This Indiana thing has lit my rockets! The Left have governors of other states trying to do economic damage to Indiana. The Jurassic Press is doing what they always to, and celebrities (just shut the hell up and sing or act) spout off without having a clue. Jocks too. What the hell does Barkley know about the law? Has he even read the damn thing? Highly doubt it. I haven’t heard him say he has. What the hell? Those Leftist governors whose own states are in a mess should shut the hell up too. Then again, Leftists don’t believe in States’ Rights, only centralized government, so they feel free to join in.

So we have extreme Leftist totalitarians of old, which headed up the Federal Religious Restoration Act over 20 years ago, including anti-Semite, anti-Christian racist Barry Obama that signed the Illinois’ Restoration act; and a bunch of other Leftists that were for it before they were against it. The answer these haters of Christians and the Law have is that the Indiana law has language that is anti-gay. What a giant tank of horse manure. There is no such language. There’s no aggression, only protection of 2,000 plus year old belief systems. Good grief.

What’s really set me off are Christians that buy into this. It’s obvious the homosexualist movement has been running Christian businesses out, destroying lives. None of this would be happening if they went to where they would get the services they wanted, and not try and destroy, like kids breaking toys, when they didn’t get their way. I say homosexualist movement because it’s not about civil rights, it not about discrimination, it’s not about love, it’s not even about who you’re pokin’. It’s about being anti-Christian, anti-Semite, anti-traditional, and anti-business. It’s all about bringing down everything that works, destroying lives, to empower government.

What’s setting me off about Christians thinking like this, is they are putting Government before God, before scripture, and rejecting the teachings of Christ and the Apostle Paul. These “Christians” are entering that arena like American Jews, that don’t even bother to identify themselves as Jews, and put the government first, before Torah and God. Even though it is governments that have slaughtered millions of Jews throughout history, over 70% of American Jews vote Democrat, the Party of Big Government oppression. The anti-Semitism of that Party stuns me, and the virulent anti-Semitism of this president is scarier than just about anything I’ve seen or experienced.  

The other thing about this is the underlying current in all this Indiana kerfuffle, that to believe the Leftist hype is to believe that Christians inherently are anti-gay, hate gays, don’t support gays. If you claim to be a Christian, you had best rethink your position on this, or renounce Christianity, because lies, destruction and an all-powerful central government is what you worship. Not God.

The Federal Government and nineteen states have had this legislation for up to twenty years and not a peep until now. The Restoration laws have never ever been used to discriminate against gays. But Christians are having their lives destroyed, and want some protections. Not exactly working, because many Christians have lost their livelihood and have had lives destroyed in states that do have the Restoration law in place (plus the alleged protection of the Federal Law).

Just lies lies lies lead by anti-Semite, anti-Christian Barry Obama, his political Party, and his sycophant press that writes fiction to protect their secular Savior, the false prophet Obama, instead of Jesus Christ, whom they hate.

Ultimately this is about the government lead anti-Christian movement. Any totalitarian government, knowing history, knows to finally triumph, it must marginalize, if not destroy, Christians and Jews.

    

Leftist Hateful Intolerant Gays Now Attacking Bakery

You can always count on Leftists to do what they claim they're against. Gays claim to be against intolerance yet tried to bring down Chick-fil-a because the CEO doesn't have the same religious belief as them. They did the same with a photographer in AZ. Now they're after a man in Colorado that owns a bakery, is Christian and believes in the Biblical definition of marriage like Dan Cathy (Chick-fil-a CEO).

The Leftist intolerant haters have signed an online petition to drive Jack Phillips, owner of the Masterpiece Cake Shop in Lakewood out of business and destroy his life.  A gay guy that has never patronized the bakery said, “By denying service to gay couples, they are essentially slapping us all in the face, and I simply cannot stand idly by while such shameful behavior is allowed to continue.” “I am not sure how the cakes taste, but I know bigotry and hate tastes disgusting.” I wonder if he cooks and bakes for himself, because it would all taste horrible because of his own intolerance, hatred and bigotry. Article here. 

This had started when David Mullins and Charlie Craig ordered a wedding cake, and Phillips informed them he doesn't make wedding cakes for gay couples, to which Mullins answered,   “f*** you and your homophobic cake shop.” Not only are Leftist gays intolerant bigots but uncivil too. There has to be a dozen or more bakeries in the area, and the civil\polite thing to do would be to use one of them.

Hateful intolerant Leftists, self centered on their own agenda seem to think it's okay to destroy the lives and businesses of people that disagree with them. Whether it's the "new atheists" suing totake down crosses (even those in the middle of nowhere), rampaging through cities destroying property, or trying to close down businesses, Leftists are all about hate and intolerance while accusing others of it. Good grief, they even get the home addresses of politicians and public officials and show up terrifying the neighborhoods and family of whoever it is they're hatin' on.  

Leftists are forever lecturing Conservatives to be civil. They do believe they are superior in the Nietzschean sense, and the rules don't apply to them. It's the totalitarian mind set, officially represented by the Democrat Party. It's causing a major pushback. Leftist Blacks calling everyone a racist that doesn't accept their communist world view, gays set out to destroy families, and businesses and people that don't have their bigoted and hateful world view. If any "minority" or group feels discriminated against, it's not because of color or who you like to poke, it's because your hatred, bigotry and intolerance is being rejected. Citizens are fed up with it.

Probably Not Conservative or Religious

There’s been a lot of focus on jobs and the economy recently, combined with attacks on people of Faith, primarily Christians and Jews. It’s a deadly combination, because even if our material world is righted and the number of employed increase, there’s a bigger problem.

There has been a successful campaign against religion, especially Christianity and Judaism since the beginning of the 20^th century, and now we’re seeing the results. There are riots in Greece because they’ve spent and borrowed all they can and don’t produce then expect Germany and the EU to keep bailing them out so they can keep laying about without working and getting subsidies for non production from the government. The same can be said about the recent riots in London. Thugs running about, breaking into businesses and stealing; I suppose one could call it anarchic consumerism. 'Let others work and produce and let me take.'

'Let me take in and spend the tax money and not work; it’s my due for breathing.' Of course the world wide Jurassic Press blames Conservatives for this. Denying the little darlings all that money and goodies without having to work for it. How uncaring and mean! Must be tough. I have no idea where they think government gets money. The Leftist mantra of take more from the rich shows they don’t understand if all the wealth of all the rich all over the world were confiscated and redistributed, it would only last a few days. Then everyone would be poor. Apparently they don’t know the tale of the goose and the golden eggs.

This thinking is the result of embracing Marxist Materialism and rejecting the traditions of Judeo-Christianity. The principle of deferred gratification to benefit self and following generations, of the nuclear family, diminishing the importance of men as role models for boys, attacking the Church (Protestant and Catholic) which provided generational and social cohesion; in general undercutting the foundations of a fiscal and socially successful society.

Study after study, year after year, show children raised in nuclear families, with a married man and woman, are less likely by a wide margin, to become criminals, to adhere to social norms and contribute to society when they grow up. Religious people are more productive, happy, contribute more, volunteer more, are more charitable, earn more, rarely use drugs, in short become good citizens. Good, not perfect, but they make an attempt despite all our human weaknesses.

In all the protests we see, the destruction of cities and towns, the thieving mobs, I’d bet (gentleman’s bet) one would be hard pressed to find a church-going Christian, or synagogue-attending Jew in the mix. I think one would be hard pressed to find a teenage gang banger that has a stable family life with a traditional family participating.

Recently FEMA used the term “federal family”. That says a lot about Leftists' social mentality. The State replaces the nuclear family (and the State becomes the religion), and now we have children in adult bodies expecting mom and dad (the government) to take care of them forever. There’s even a mindset in my generation (baby boomers) that we should be able to retire at 65 years old and have the government take care of us for the next 20 or so we live. An example recently is the hissy fit Leftist employees of Wisconsin had when they were asked to pay a little more into their retirement. When people were adults they expected to work and contribute until they died.

Worse than having our financial capital exhausted by non producers and other rejecters of the traditional things that work, is our moral and cultural capital. Now it’s okay to have kids out of wedlock and leave the mother to raise them single handedly, it’s okay to steal, it’s okay to cheat, it’s okay to riot and do millions of dollars of damage if you don’t get your way. It’s okay to be irresponsible and not pay for the consequences of irresponsible behavior.

Because, you see, the traditional, hardworking, caring, loving, happy contributing people they so despise, will pay. They’re running into a problem now, and having temper tantrums like the children they are, because the people that have been tolerating their bad behavior, and paying the financial and social costs, are saying enough. If the good people stick to their guns, there may be hope for us. If not, we’ll continue down the Marxist Materialist hellhole.  

    

More Attacks on Christianity in America

A few weeks ago I wrote about and posted a vid of music that a high school music group could not play, just music, no words, because of the title "Ave Maria". There's also the WWI Veteran Memorial in the middle of the Mojave Desert that intolerant bigots are trying to tear down because it's a cross. Both these cases have been sent up to the Supreme Court.

Another development in the high school case, in the form of a letter from an intolerant anti Christian bigot. The "Ave Maria", sung in Latin, (I know because we are singing it in our Christmas Concert this year), is by Franz Biebl. It's not the well known one by Schubert. I bring this up because the letter writer says just the title puts the words of the song in her head. I've sung it dozens of times, and I still need to read it. It's in Latin! Excerpt from her letter: "That melody is very familiar to all of us, and when we hear the instruments play, the words are immediately heard in our brains." "If secular people of all stripes, whether atheist, agnostic, skeptic or freethinker, don't speak out about these abuses...we will be no better than the Islamic jihadists."

This piece of music is soooooo beautiful, I'm stunned that anyone can link it to murdering Islamofascists. I wonder if she finds Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven" offensive because of the word heaven. Perhaps this needs to be scrubbed from the airways.

On to the latest bit of bigotry. Penn State is selling a tee-shirt with a vertical blue stripe down the middle of the front, and "Penn State" horizontally across the stripe. OMG! It's a cross! It's forcing Christianity down everyones' throat! The blue stripe is the same as on the football helmets. Based on six complaints, the Anti-Defamation League is involved. Thirty thousand shirts have been sold.

How ridiculous can anti-Christian bigots get? How intolerant? Liberalism used to be the idea of letting people live and let live, of acceptance. Of freedom of expression.

We have a cross commemorating Vets in the middle of the desert that you have to really really go out of your way to see, being attacked. We have a fairly obscure piece of music, without words, being attacked. We have a tee shirt with a stripe on it, being attacked. Good heavens! Oooops. Hope that didn't offend anyone. Good grief.

Our Ahistorical President

President Obama makes up history. I could be nicer about it and say he's a revisionist, but...

To start he said in his Cairo speech, "Islam . . . carried the light of learning through so many centuries, paving the way for Europe's Renaissance and Enlightenment."
Actually much of Islamic culture was from Asia and India that were absorbed by the Islamic countries when they had been conquered, several times. It was Islamic oppression that forced great inventors and thinkers into Western Europe. I've written earlier about the Enlightenment, and it wasn't an event, it was a centuries long evolution of thought. Islamic culture brought Western Civilization a few things, but not much. We are free, they are not, so we certainly didn't learn democracy from them.

He said, "Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance. We see it in the history of Andalusia and Cordoba during the Inquisition." We know that Islam is intolerant, oppresses people, especially women, stones people to death, and lobs off their heads... still... if you aren't a Muslim. As for his historical statement, Andalusia and Cordoba were Christian cities during the Inquisition.

He said, "...no system of government can or should be imposed upon one nation by any other." So after WWII we shouldn't have 'imposed' democracy on Japan and Germany? Before or since what countries have suffered because of the imposition of our ideology?

Going on, "For centuries, black people in America suffered the lash of the whip as slaves and the humiliation of segregation. But it was not violence that won full and equal rights." I know education has become nearly an afterthought, but I think there was something called the "Civil War" that was in fact so violent, about 600,000 mostly white people died to end slavery. In high school in the 60's I remember lots of riots, by definition violent.

Obama during his campaign said his great uncle was with the liberators of Auschwitz and his grandfather knew people that had entered to liberate Auschwitz and Treblinka. The problem is that the Americans weren't there. They were at Buchenwald.

Also during his campaign, when he went to Europe to proclaim himself 'citizen of the world', he said, "I know that I don't look like the Americans who've previously spoken in this great city." I think both Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice have been to Europe and have given speeches.

One last thing about oppression in the Middle East. Very little of it was by Europe like Obama and fellow revisionists would like you to believe. They were conquered a lot by Asians, Indians, and survived brutal oppression for centuries by the Muslim Ottoman Empire. Now they have their own homegrown oppressors.

You see, Obama isn't educated, he has pedigree because he's Ivy League. He isn't even smart. He's a shrewed politician, driven by Statist ideology. I don't believe a word he says, about anything.
