May each of you have the heart to conceive, the understanding to direct, and the hand to execute works that will leave the world a little better for your having been here. -- Ronald Reagan

Those Vile Ten Commandments

Connellsville Jr High, Ten Commandments

Secularists, Statists, Atheist Fundamentalists, and that whole cabal of anti-Christian, anti-Semite bigots are once again attacking the Ten Commandments, this time on a school ground. The monument was put there in 1957, outside of what is now the  Junior High auditorium; at the time Connellsville High School. It was donated by the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

The group suing is the Freedom From Religion Foundation which goes around the country, even to remote areas, finds religious symbols, and sues to have them removed. The ACLU, the well known anti Christian lawyer cabal, is their representative.

The school said they would move the 5 to 6 foot monument to a nearby church, which was rejected by the intolerant bigoted hate groups, because it would be still be in view of the students while they were on school grounds. Really and truly? They need to demand the church be destroyed too then.

One would think these commandments, rules to live by, would be a good thing. The first of these about putting God before all else; think about that as not worshiping things in the material world such as money, sex, property, etc. It seems these bigots approve of putting the material above all else...relationships, love, caring.

Taking the Lord's name in vain. What you think is what you are. If you defile language, you're defiling yourself. Marcus Aurelius: "Our life is what our thoughts make of it." That, what to them is a horrible Book, predated the statement in Proverbs: "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he".  It seems these people reject having good clean thoughts.

Remembering the Sabbath. Take a day off, get some rest. I guess they don't want a day off. I recommend they work seven days a week, walk the talk.

Honor your father and mother. It's better to disrespect your father and mother?

Don't murder. Hmmmmm, murder is a good thing?

Don't commit adultery. So good ahead and cheat on your spouse, it's acceptable.

Don't bear false witness against your neighbor. By rejecting this I suppose lying and gossiping about your neighbor is a good thing.

Don't covet you neighbor's stuff. Being envious and wanting your neighbor's stuff is a good trait?

It seems Atheists and Secularists are pro adultery, pro murder, pro theft, materialist above all else, think and say vile things, advocate for a seven day work week, and be disrespectful of your parents.

Well, that's a good lifestyle.

The Money You Earn Belongs to the Government?

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned -- this is the sum of good government." Thomas Jefferson

The Democrats and their Statist leader Obama believe the money you earn belongs to the government. They cut deductions for charity giving, justifying it saying that exemptions are tax subsidies, and subsidies are public money, i.e., the government’s money.

The government is trying to get into people’s retirement accounts and say they’ll give it back when you retire. Truly? I can’t find the quote, but I remember ex-president Clinton actually saying that people’s earnings belong to the government and it decides how much people get to keep. I’ve heard some Republicans say the same.

In the UK there’s a proposal to actually legislate this. A proposal by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has actually proposed that employers send their employees paychecks directly to the government, and the government takes out what they want, and send the balance back to the earner.

The government would have access to every individual’s bank account since they would need to deposit back what they think the employee should get after they skim off their take. If they take too much, and it’s challenged, does anyone really think the difference will be refunded? See any opening for corruption and criminal behavior by hackers into the central banking system that would be the bureaucracy for this?

Back to the US. You have to believe the Dems and Obama would be on board with this; everyone in America sending their paychecks to the government.

Can't Clean Up Some Oil, But Can Clean Up Some Blogs

Here's a Statist's dream, shutting down thousands of blogs. Democrats for years have been trying to shut down sectors of the Internet, and have even tried to get legislation passed to be able to shut down the whole thing whenever they want, which I chronicled here.

The Obama Government (used to be the people's government) has just shut down a blogger platform affecting 73,000 bloggers.

There are sites that have rip off streaming of movies and games, but Vice President Biden and an agency called Intellectual Property Enforcement have used that as an excuse to shut down thousands of unrelated sites. Wordpress, which offers free blogging platforms like Blogspot, has stated that they're the platform the government shut down, affecting the 73,000 bloggers.

What we have here are a few sites running some rip off operation, and the government uses it as an excuse to shut down all those other sites. The Statist Obama Government has not released any information on what the specific transgressions are. Once again we're treated to the transparent Obama Government.

This is timed perfectly with the coming Senate approval of anti-free speech Statist Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court. She believes the Constitution gives the government the right to limit speech in Amerika.
Kagan: "Whether a given category of speech enjoys First Amendment protection depends upon a categorical balancing of the value of the speech against its societal costs."

Legislation to take control of the Internet, 73,000 blogs shut down in one swoop, and a Supreme Court Justice that does not believe in free speech.

Chilled yet?

Taking From the Suffering

Taking from Charity, giving to themselves. One can’t expect Statists to understand the art and sacrifice of giving. They only understand taking, for themselves and those that support them. For the 2010 budget Obama tried to reduce the deduction for charitable giving. It didn’t pass, but isn’t off the table for those that see any income as rightfully theirs, even if they didn’t earn it.

After that failure, the test to take money from charitable organizations was tried in California, and was stopped; but that resulted in a shakedown, which is just as good for them. Gets them the money they want while they try and fashion other legislation to shake down charity and philanthropic organizations. The Bill they tried passing (and what Federal Statist legislators are taking a serious look at), would require these kinds of organizations to publish the race, gender and sexual orientation of leaders, trustees, board members, and most others involved in a charitable endeavor.

What is at stake here for Statists (primarily Democrats) is about $300 billion a year given in charity they can’t get to. It’s not good enough the money is going to help people dying of cancer, or AIDS, or suffering from epilepsy, or Downs Syndrome. Pick your cause or disease, and what you want to give to help these people; the Statists want a portion of the money, and the rest to be directed by them to the groups they say should get the remainder (their constituents).

The nearly passed California legislation (the American Petri dish of bad political ideas) would have required the money not confiscated by the government to be directed toward minorities, low income communities, and whatever targeted group Statists want to further their own ends. There was a paper, “Criteria for Philanthropy at It’s Best”, published by the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy. It wants philanthropic organizations have 25% of their donations be spent on “advocacy, organizing, and civic engagement to promote equity, opportunity, and justice in our society.” I think spending that 25% on people actually suffering is much better. They also want to spend "at least 50 percent of its grant dollars to benefit lower-income communities, communities of color and other marginalized groups". The lie here, exposed by The Philanthropic Collaborative, is that "two out of every three dollars of all health grants made by foundations benefit low-income and minority communities." Statists want 75% of money donated to charity to be spent by them, not going to where the donors giving the money want it to go.

Statists will take money from the suffering to meet their own ends.

Statists (Democrats) don’t believe these institutions of help should have the freedom to decide which suffering people they want to reach out to and comfort. CongressDaily (February 2010): "Senate aides are quietly exploring ways to tax the massive wealth tucked away in charitable foundations, which backers say could serve the twin goals of raising revenue for an estate tax solution and triggering overdue reforms in the nonprofit sector."

The shakedown part of this was that in lieu of passing the legislation, were nine of the largest philanthropic organizations in California promised to give $30 million to “minority led, community base groups”. Like any black mail, the blackmailer, Statists, will be back to get more; that strategy may be even more effective than legislation.

Statists (Democrats) are willing to steal 75% of donated money, and regulate people that give to the suffering, to further their own socio-economic, political agenda.

Who do you want your charity money to go to, a millionaire politician and his overpaid staff and bureaucrats, or the little girl or boy suffering from cancer?

Religious and Political Integrity

There's a disconnect between Liberal politicians and their professed religious beliefs. We have politicians like the late Ted Kennedy that was Catholic and supported abortion, and Nancy Pelosi that supports abortion and other un-Catholic ideas. She's even been chastised by the Pope, and then lied about even that.

I wonder, if you claim to be of a particular faith, why run as a politician with an agenda antithetical to that faith? I have the same problem with Jews that as a block support the anti-Israel, antisemitic Democrat party; or Blacks that vote Democrat in block when the Democrat Party subjugates Blacks with the view that they don't have what it takes to be successful and must depend on the State. Victims.

The word "integrity" comes from the Latin "integer", to be whole, complete. Integrity is to have consistency of values, beliefs and principles. A hard thing to do. If you fail in presenting integrity, then you're a hypocrite.

I have to wonder why Statist politicians that advocate for abortion when their Church and Faith is against it aren't called hypocrites. Yet when someone that is not a Statist falls short of living up to their stated beliefs, they are called a hypocrite. I'm thinking of the non-Statist politician that has an affair, or is outed as a homosexual, or is caught coming out of a strip club. They are hypocrites. The Statist politician that claims adherence to a Faith that doesn't practice it, is not a hypocrite. They are given a pass on non-traditional, even deviant behavior.

Liberal politicians embrace the Marxist secular view, present that to the public, and justify the disconnect between religious belief and political belief by saying they don't want to subject their constituents to their own religious beliefs. Why run advocating positions antithetical to your professed Faith? I have to ask, if you don't fully embrace the tenants of your religion, and have integrity between political and religious world views, why state you do? If your ethics and morality are situational, why not just state you believe in situational ethics? Obviously to gain power and money. I would like to see politicians like Catholic Pelosi and Lieberman (an orthodox Jew) actually say they put the State before God. That would be integrity.

I would like too for non-Statist politicians that claim adherence to religious beliefs to keep their pants zipped for one, and adhere to other correct religious behaviors at least while in office. If you can't, don't run. Statists get a pass, religious people don't.

Non-Statist politicians advocating for traditional values, for the rule of law, for the Constitution which makes it clear in its own language that our freedoms are granted by God, must absolutely live according to those beliefs and values. Not to do so imperils Liberty just as much as Statists enforcing Marxist ideology.

Some nonsensical rambling from the hypocrite Pelosi

Thoughts on Families and Fathers on 100th Anniversary of Fathers' Day

The original father celebrated by Fathers' Day was a Civil War veteran named William Jackson Smart. He had five sons and a daughter, and his wife died giving birth to the sixth child. He was a single dad.

The daughter, Sonora Smart Dodd, started this day in 1910 to honor her father. People at the founding of this country recognized the importance of a father and mother to raise well rounded children. John Adams: "The foundation of national morality must be laid in private families.... How is it possible that Children can have any just Sense of the sacred Obligations of Morality or Religion if, from their earliest Infancy, they learn their Mothers live in habitual Infidelity to their fathers, and their fathers in as constant Infidelity to their Mothers?" His wife Abigail: "What is it that affectionate parents require of their Children; for all their care, anxiety, and toil on their accounts? Only that they would be wise and virtuous, Benevolent and kind."

Atlantic Monthly magazine, a bastion of secular Statism, has an article, "Are Fathers Necessary?" Their contention is that the stats supporting the necessity of a father aren't valid because stats compare married heterosexual couples and their children, to single fathers and mothers. To be valid they say, the comparison should be how children do when raised by homosexual couples. Of course they say that female homosexual couples raise better children than male homosexual couples. Even if you're a homosexual male, you're still male, and found to be an inferior human being.

This is based on one article, in the Journal of Marriage and Family, written by Judith Stacey, a sociology professor at New York University, and Timothy Biblarz, a demographer from the University of Southern California. Since this is supposed to be a social "science", what's the control group and has the data been gathered and analyzed by others with the same results? The anti-traditionalist agenda is to destroy the nuclear family. Then it will truly "take a village" to raise kids. Children raised by the State will be more compliant to the State. Indoctrination through the alleged education system doesn't quite get the job done; some make it through as free thinkers. They do that because there are enough families to help the kid resist the indoctrination.

The stats themselves? From the CDC, DoJ, DHHS and the Bureau of the Census: 30 percent of children who live apart from their fathers will account for 63 percent of teen suicides, 70 percent of juveniles in state-operated institutions, 71 percent of high-school dropouts, 75 percent of children in chemical-abuse centers, 80 percent of rapists, 85 percent of youths in prison, 85 percent of children who exhibit behavioral disorders, and 90 percent of homeless and runaway children.

Unnamed social worker at a juvenile detention center: "If you find a gang member who comes from a complete nuclear family, I'd like to meet him. ... I don't think that kid exists."

Children raised by the State will of course manifest all the social pathologies and deviant behavior not found in most children raised by mom and dad. That will in turn justify more of a police state. Nice if you're a Statist.

Confucius: “To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must cultivate our personal life; and to cultivate our personal life, we must first set our hearts right.”

There's a natural order to things, and anti-traditionalist, secular Statists, must interrupt that order to control according to their belief system. Even to the extent that they need to publish, for Fathers' Day, an article bashing men in general, fathers specifically, and stating that women are superior.

The article ends: "The bad news for Dad is that despite common perception, there’s nothing objectively essential about his contribution. The good news is, we’ve gotten used to him." Can you say "sexism"?

Men and women are both equally necessary to form families, raise children and provide a sound foundation for a functioning society. Lets keep dad around and help families stay together by keeping the State out of the nuclear family.

Anti Christian Bigotry Seeps Into the Heartland

Even though a review of history shows beyond a doubt that this country, based on Judaic-Christian principles, is the most successful in terms of the material wealth, liberty, security, safety, and spiritual health than any other nation ever, and that secularist, socialist countries have a 100% failure rate, there are those in this country that still want to abolish all religion and religious principles.

The purpose is to replace religion as traditionally experienced, with the State. The State must do this, because it needs to create a vacuum so it can insert itself more effectively into the lives of citizens. They must change morality coming from God to morality coming from the State. They use "separation of Church and State" as the foundation of their argument. I don't see where non-Christian citizens are forced by Christians or government to observe Good Friday, or Christmas, or Easter. This is a Judaic-Christian, religious society, and these holidays are a reminder of that. Getting rid of them helps sever that and complete the imposition of a Secularist government. One has to obey the State under penalty and prosecution. God gives people a choice whether to obey or not. I prefer choice.

In the city of Davenport, Iowa, their Civil Rights Commission made a motion to change the name of "Good Friday" to "Spring Holiday". This was, of course, to impose State Morality on citizens in the name of "diversity". Good Friday is extremely important for Christians, at the core of our beliefs. The State's attempt to deny it creates diversity? When the Chair of the Commission was asked why he didn't abolish Christmas, his lame response was that several other 'diverse' groups celebrate Christmas. What? He couldn't name one, since that's a holiday, Holy Day, for Christians.

Something Statists don't like is not getting their own way, it's all about them. They use "civil rights" now to impose their agenda of obedience to the State. The founders and people of that time all recognized Good Friday, and changing that tradition to what anti Christian Secularists want, and excluding it, shows just how intolerant and self centered the Left is.

That this happened in the Midwest is astonishing. I would expect it in New York or California. Fortunately this decision was rejected by the citizens, but the secular Statists will be back.

Hockey Sticks and Liars

These are the graphs of the great weather "hockey stick" that all the Statist media and gov't Statists, Gaia worshipers, etc., have been using to say that global warming is man made. It's from the Summary for Policymakers’ of the 2001 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report. It shows temperature dropping then a huge upswing in temperature. Except it didn't happen. What happened after 1961 is a drop in temperature, but it was obscured by some other large colorful lines. Of course the MSM didn't do any 'investigative reporting', it might reveal an inconvenient truth.

Thing is, it was warmer in 1000 CE than it is now. I'm not a professional historian, but I don't remember reading about any factories or cars and whatever during that period. Greenland used to be green to. Plus the global temp has been dropping for the last ten years.

As to the emails revealing this scam. If they were emails that embarrassed Conservatives or Christians, this would be whistle blowing, and the contents would be important. That they show alleged scientists to be political hacks, gov't lap dogs and liars, well then, the publishing of the letters is the outrage, not the content.

As to the alleged scientists calling other scientists names and saying nasty things about them; at one time, when science was actually science, peer review was the standard. As bad in science classes as I was, I remember every experiment had to be re-done and get the same result to be accepted. The alleged scientists language is political and not scientific, using "consensus". Politicians reach consensus. Science is to show something is or is not, or it's under investigation. Period.

I think the alleged scientists should apologize to the Catholic Church. They've been pounding on the Church for dragging its feet acknowledging the correctness of scientific discoveries. At least the church didn't tell big ol' whoppin' lies just to make a buck.

Does 'science fiction' have a new definition now?

Sin Bins?

Britain is putting about 20,000 families under 24 hour surveillance, because they behave badly. The idea is to make sure parents send their kids to school, as well as keep to a proper eating and sleeping schedule. Not only that, but there are guards on patrol to make sure everybody behaves.

Children's Secretary Ed Balls: “This is pretty tough and non-negotiable support for families to get to the root of the problem. There should be Family Intervention Projects in every local authority area because every area has families that need support.”

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling: “This is all much too little, much too late.
“This Government has been in power for more than a decade during which time anti-social behaviour, family breakdown and problems like alcohol abuse and truancy have just got worse and worse.”
Nice little Statist work going on there. Implement policies that destroy the nuclear family, then send in Statist bureaucrats to control the situation they created.

Shadow Home Secretary? It turns out that the Brits have a shadow cabinet. (Sounds a bit like what Obama is doing with all his 'czars'.) The Shadow Home Secretary actually follows the real "Home Secretary" around and analyzes all domestic decisions like prisons, immigration, police, etc.

Then there are "Youth Offending Teams" which I think implements the "Youth Crime Action Plan".

Back to the guy talking about the 'root of the problem'. The root of the problem is the State running God and morality out of town, and implementing secular and Statist models that never work.

Boy, sometimes...

My Friends, Cancer, and Socialized Medicine

Twenty percent of British cancer patients who might be cured become incurable while waiting for the treatment they need. All my friends that have had cancer, and there are several, have survived. I thank God foremost, and the American medical system second.

The Population Studies Center at the University of Pennsylvania studied survival rates for lung, breast, prostate, colon, and rectum cancers in 18 countries and found that Americans were the most successfully treated.

About 85-90 percent of us are satisfied with our health care. Even the uninsured are pretty satisfied since it's illegal for any medical institution to turn anyone away. Personal story...had a friend that was unemployed and had a hernia. Got the operation and didn't pay.

More people having heart attacks survive here. Would you rather have a heart attack or stroke here or China, Russia, Cuba, Canada, Venezuela, England?

ObamaCare isn't about health. If Statists did care, they would be coming up with programs that help those that need it, not delete what we have now, that does in fact take care of everyone, even people here illegally. Statists don't care about the well being of the citizens. They care about power and their own well being.

The Responsibility Denial Game

In the past couple weeks we've seen three tragedies, the murder of George Tiller and the Holocaust Museum murders. Many of us grieve this loss of life. There was also the murder of a US soldier outside a recruiting station. Some loss of life of course grieves me more deeply. The loss of a soldier grieves me the most; I was a soldier. All the men that did these acts are horrible human beings, the face of evil.

Something else that bothered me this week is David Letterman's advocacy of Willow Palin's [14 yrs old] (daughter of Sarah the Governor or Alaska) statutory rape and Sarah Palin being referenced to looking like a slutty flight attendant.

A disturbing thing ties this all together for me. The murder of George Tiller was blamed by Statist's and their spokesmen in the MSM on Bill O'Reilly. Both Michelle Malkin and O'Reilly predicted this. The horrendous event at the Holocaust Museum was blamed on Rush Limbaugh. Remember too the Limbaugh was responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing. Bill Clinton, President of the United States at the time said so, as did the MSM. As for Palin, I saw an MSNBC vid with conservative writer Amanda Carpenter defending Sarah Palin's outrage about Letterman's comments, and a Huffington Post writer saying it was Sarah Palin's fault because Palin trots her kids out in public. Matt Lauer of the Today Show also defended Letterman's comments. As Carpenter pointed out, what kind of culture have we become when this kind of thing is defended.

To the Statist mind, nothing is the fault of the person doing the act, or indulging the behavior. The man that murdered Tiller was not blamed, O'Reilly was. Timothy McVeigh wasn't at fault, Limbaugh was. Letterman wasn't at fault, Sarah Palin was. By the way, the MSM is now reporting a spike of right wing extremists manning up and arming to create right wing terror and murder in the US. FBI intelligence reports there is no such thing happening, but the MSM will still keep saying it, until the public begins believing it.

My final point. This is why Statists want more day care provided for the by the government; less responsibility to the family. Why Statists are against home schooling; they don't want responsible parenting and education, they want somebody else take care of it. They want government control of the minds of the children; can't do that with the kids' parents taking responsibility. It takes a village, don't ya know. The Statist wants the government to control health care. They would rather the government take care of it, rather than themselves. They would rather have horrible health care than take responsibility for it themselves. I'm sure you get my drift here.

It's the other guy not me. Not in my back yard. I didn't do it.

My Political Head Exploded!

I have a very dear friend, confidant and mentor. She supported Obama, and though I can't find it now, she wrote an essay why she supports Obama, and I posted it in this blog before the election. Another view...which I can appreciate if done with civility. Her's was. Can't remember the title so I can't post the link here. What caused the cognitive dissonance is that we were going to and fro on Facebook about politics. There was a quiz, 'What Kind of Republican are you?' I took it, and of course came out Libertarian. I challenged her; there were lots of Liberal positions stated in the quiz, so I figured she would would come out as some Lib RHINO. She scored Libertarian. What??

She said, when I followed up, that if Ron Paul were the face of the Republican Party, she'd vote Republican. What???? If there are two more diametrically opposed political and economic philosophies, I can't think of them. She also said Obama wasn't a Statist. What??? Apparently using borrowed and printed money, with ever increasing taxes to buy and control auto companies isn't socialist. Controlling insurance companies and financial institutions isn't Statist. Nationalizing health care isn't Statist. Using 'environmentalism' to control the energy industry isn't Statist. What???

So here's some Ron Paul (I'm not a supporter of...)

Health Care: Obama wants the government to control. Ron Paul-the key to effective health care reform lies not in increasing government control, but in increasing the American people’s ability to make their own health care decisions. Thus, instead of forcing Americans to purchase government-approved health insurance, Congress should put the American people back in charge of health care by expanding health care tax credits and deductions, as well as increasing access to Health Savings Accounts. Therefore, I have introduced legislation, the Comprehensive Health Care Reform Act (HR1495), which provides a series of health care tax credits and deductions designed to empower patients. I urge my colleagues to reject the big government-knows-best approach to health care by cosponsoring my Coercion is Not Health Care Act and Comprehensive Health Care Reform Act.

Taxes: Obama wants to increase, even floating the idea of a Federal VAT up to 25%. Ron Paul-supports the elimination of the income tax and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He asserts that Congress had no power to impose a direct income tax and has called for the repeal of the 16th Amendment to the Constitution, which was ratified on February 3, 1913.An income tax is the most degrading and totalitarian of all possible taxes. Its implementation wrongly suggests that the government owns the lives and labor of the citizens it is supposed to represent. Tellingly, “a heavy progressive or graduated income tax” is Plank #2 of the Communist Manifesto, which was written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels and first published in 1848.To provide funding for the federal government, Ron Paul supports excise taxes, non-protectionist tariffs, massive cuts in spending.

Education: Obama is against school vouchers, private education (except for his own kids), and home schooling. He wants yet more massive spending for education. Ron Paul- “First, the Constitution does not authorize the Department of Education, and the founders never envisioned the federal government dictating those education policies.Second, it is a huge bureaucracy that squanders our money. We send billions of dollars to Washington and get back less than we sent. The money would be much better off left in states and local communities rather than being squandered in Washington. Finally, I think that the smallest level of government possible best performs education. Teachers, parents, and local community leaders should be making decisions about exactly how our children should be taught, not Washington bureaucrats. The Department of Education has given us No Child Left Behind, massive unfunded mandates, indoctrination, and in come cases, forced medication of our children with psychotropic drugs. We should get rid of all of that and get those choices back in the hands of the people.”

Global Waming: Obama is a true believer. Will not allow nuclear energy, more mining, or oil drilling. He is totally on the side of Al Gore on this one. Ron Paul- Rather than taking a “sky is falling” approach, I think there are common-sense steps we can take to cut emissions and preserve our environment. I am, after all, a conservative and seek to conserve not just American traditions and our Constitution, but our natural resources as well.We should start by ending subsidies for oil companies. And we should never, ever go to war to protect our perceived oil interests. If oil were allowed to rise to its natural price, there would be tremendous market incentives to find alternate sources of energy. At the same time, I can’t support government “investment” in alternative sources either, for this is not investment at all. Government cannot invest, it can only redistribute resources. Just look at the mess government created with ethanol. Congress decided that we needed more biofuels, and the best choice was ethanol from corn. So we subsidized corn farmers at the expense of others, and investment in other types of renewables was crowded out.

Those are some of the biggies. I didn't want to get over long. I got these off Ron Paul's website. I'm still putting my head back together. How a Statist, an advocate of government control of everything, in the process of implementing a government takeover of everything, is not seen as a Statist, and matched to Libertarian ideas... ohhhh, I need a couple Advil.

Statist Enviromentalism and the California Drought

The MSM is reporting that California is experiencing about the worst drought ever. I found some water stats that refute that.  The US Bureau of Reclamation stats show that the fifteen year average watershed precipitation levels for the Sacramento River is 77%, American River 102%, Stanislaus River 96%, and San Joaquin River 91%.  Rainfall is indeed below average, but ever so slightly at 91.5%. It's also being reported that the snow pack is seriously low. California's own Dept of Reclamation reports that the snow water equivalant is at 90%.  The reservoirs are low to be sure, but they're at 85% of normal.

While things are tight, they aren't devastating. What is devastating is that this is a false drought, with the Statists in government and MSM once again creating a crises to gain more control and power. The Federal and State power brokers violated state law, and promised newcomers (primarily in SoCal) requesting water, over those, like established farmers, that have a senior claim to it. The main thing though, and this is where environmental Statists come in, is the Judge and the smelt.

Most of California's water comes from the Delta, where two major rivers join. There's a smelt there, not indigenous to the area by the way, that has been deemed an endangered species, so the Judge (can't find the knucklehead's name) has shut off the spigot. The result is that farms are drying up. Ready for higher produce prices this summer? The result is that in some communities unemployment is up to 40%. The result is increased fires, endangering citizens and costing billions the state doesn't have.  Girlie man Arnold needs to step up to the plate, grow some, tell the judge to F off, and open the spigot in the Delta.
