The Myth of Dominionists and the Left's Scaremongering False Linkage to Christians and Christian Politicians

Every once in a while the Left/Secularist/Atheists rise up a bogeyman I would surmise may be less than one in ten thousand Christians have even heard of. This is a group created whole cloth by Left, identified as Dominionists.

Leftist extremists like MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, the “Daily Beast” and what used to be a legitimate news magazine “Newsweek” (I think they merged with the “Daily Beast” but not sure and not the reason for this blog), are the main contributors to this creation. It’s believed by these people the “Dominionists” have “a direct line to God” as Maddow reported three or four years ago (I think leading up to the 2012 elections) and their purpose is to “clear the way for the [end of the world]…by infiltrating and taking over government”. (Christians call the direct line to God prayer.)

These Leftists have other names for the people that want to create a theocracy: Reconstructionists, Theonomists. The New Apostolic Reformation. I’m sure there are others, but the Leftists tie in all Republicans, Conservatives, TEA Party (Taxed Enough Already), and Christians to this made up group. Create an idea or group (or give a group power/influence they don’t have), tie your enemies to it, and you’ve got your bogeyman. The political leaders of this group apparently are Michelle Bachman, Rick Perry. Really. “Theologian” Albert Outler claim GW Bush "the first prince of the theocratic states of America." You see, he fell under the influence of some “Assembly of God” preachers. A few years ago I read some Leftist article or blog and she stated the Reagan years were a horrible oppressive theocracy. Who knew?

Millions of Americans I guess were forced to their knees to pray, go to church, and worship or else they were beheaded, beaten, given lashes, imprisoned, and who knows what else. The number of homosexuals and adulterers that were beaten and imprisoned during the Reagan years was off the charts! Part of this Leftists “dominionist” scare propaganda is drawing lines of moral equivalency between Christians and Islamofascists. Christians are really like the Taliban and ISIS you see.

The founder of this group was R.J. Rushdoony. He had a guy, Gary North, who later became Rushdoony’s son in law, who tried to apply the principals of Rushdoony’s theocracy or "theonomy" (God-rooted law) in real time. He worked for a bit as a staffer for Ron Paul, got involved in some Southern politics, failed, and had a big fall out with Rushdoony. There were two other guys, Greg Bahnsen and David Chilton; they died in 1995 and 1997 respectively. Since then the “Reconstructionists” have been on the outs with mainstream Christians because just regular Christians are ideologically impure. Plus plain ol’ ordinary church going Christians have no idea who these guys are and what they preach and teach.

Public tax return records show the “Reconstructionists” core organization, Chalcedon, show way less than a $million in their coffers, and haven’t since about 2001. They have no money, no leader, no one knows about them, and have no influence in politics.

One last issue raised by Leftists that they want to use in their fear mongering, (and proposed by Rushdoony [and lots of others, but for propaganda purposes they focus on the nutjob Rushdoony) is the horribleness of home schooling. This country was pretty much home schooled up until the 1920’s, and by the looks of it, we were a pretty successful country. Home schooling has been growing steadily for a couple decades, certainly the last decade, and who can blame parents for making that sacrifice? Since the Department of Education was formed by Democrat Jimmy Carter, kids have been graduating functionally illiterate, can’t do arithmetic, and history for them is what they are aware of only in their own lifetime. Teaching kids those things is horrible because it makes it harder to have them submit to the State.

Like Colombo, one more thing, there is no such thing as the separation of church and state in the Constitution. The “Establishment Clause” clearly states: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…” That’s it. That Christians participate in politics does not mean they are writing laws establishing a State Religion, though they are guided by (and sometimes fall short of) those moral principles. Sadly and dangerously the Left/Secularists/Atheists see any application of Judeo-Christian moral principles as the establishment of a theocracy.

The last time Leftists started this church and state thing, and the rise of dominionism, was just before the 2012 election. Fear mongering, and just plain making stuff up. There’s no there, there.

How Democrats & Jurassic Press Use Indictments When They Loose a Vote or Debate

The alcoholic Democrat Rosemary Lehmberg, that was busted for drunk driving and made a scene during her processing, threatening to have all the officers’ jobs, and ‘don’t you know who I am' idiocy, I wrote about here with the vid of her processing. Her title in Travis County (wholly run by Dems) is the now ironically named the “Public Integrity Unit”. She apparently has trouble with morals, values and ethics, but no nevermind, she’s a Dem. Because they are so short on values, morals, ethics, supporting and obeying the law, they get a pass. In Amerika, if you claim to have any of the above, and fall short, then you’re a liar and a hypocrite.

The night this nasty pushy amoral Democrat was busted (she served about half of the 45 day sentence) her alcohol blood count was about three times over the legal limit. (It was revealed during all this that she had racked up $4500 worth of vodka in the previous 15 months. Comes to about 25 gallons. ) Now we have a convicted criminal in a government position. At one time, if one was convicted of a crime, one stepped down.

Not only did she not step down, she got a corrupt grand jury to indict Governor Rick Perry. (The charge was he approved a contract to a company that had as one of the investors a friend of his.) Perry constitutionally vetoed funding to her corrupt department for the reason she wasn’t fit for the position. Indictments are a tool of Dem's when they can’t win debates or at the polls. Most famously the Travis County TX grand jury, after several attempts were able to indict Republican Conservative Tom Delay on the charge of money laundering. To launder money it first has to be obtained illegally. Delay’s money came from campaign contributions that he partially gave to other Republicans for their campaigns, which is done all the time. Another problem is the law they cited had not been passed, it wasn’t even a law then. The charges and indictments were of course above the fold in the Jurassic Press, and became the meme. What was not reported, except in the Conservative Media, was the Supreme Court threw it out; not guilty; under the laws in place or the new law created just for the purpose of getting Delay out of power. Delay was forced to leave politics to fight the charges and faced bankruptcy. Goal of the Dem's achieved.

Kay Bailey Hutchison, also of Texas, dealing with one of the most cynical and corrupt politicians, even for a Democrat, was Ronnie Earle (who used to hold the position the alcoholic criminal Democrat now holds). He was ticked at her because he wanted to be appointed to the office she won. He and his cohorts raided her office without a warrant, failed getting together a grand jury until his third try, and they indicted her. The “crime” she was charged with was using her previous office of treasury for personal and political reasons. When it came time for the hearing the lying coward Democrat (but I repeat myself) didn’t even show up. Evidence of the “crime”, if any, could not be used because no warrant. The trial had to be moved out of Austin to Fort Worth, and after 30 min, all charges were dropped. She, like Perry and DeLay, have the word “indictment” attached to them, which the Dems and Jurassic Press will keep reporting and repeating. She, like Delay had to spend a lot of money to defend herself.  Not a word that the indictments did not stick. Nothing to inform the public that really doesn’t pay attention to this stuff what’s really going on.

One last example. Scott Walker of Wisconsin. He has won every political battle against Leftists, union thugs, and Democrats (but I repeat myself).  As a result, the state deficit is a surplus and employment is up, taxes are down. Leftists/Dems are still protesting and trying to run him out of office. They did the indictment thing too. They also ran a “secret investigation”, a step beyond Earle’s warrantless search of Walker and some conservative groups. They brought charges against Walker and the conservative organizations. The mess is a bunch of empty nonsense about some kind of criminal scheme, and the Dems and Jurassic Press shout all across the land the Walker was indicted for criminal behavior. Not a word, except in the Conservative press, the indictment didn’t stick there either.

An interesting sidelight, or reminder for those that pay attention to these things. One of the bits of legislation Walker was trying to get, was definitely going to be a loss for the Dems. To block the vote they couldn’t win, they left the state; not vote could be done. The Texas Democrats did the same thing when they were going to lose a vote.

Some Leftist knucklehead had posted on Facebook some names of indicted Republicans. I commented who? and what for? No answer. Casting aspersions is good enough. Facts need not apply.

The Source of Gov Rick Perry's Indictment...A Drunk Woman, District Attorney, on Vid Being Processed.

A Grand Jury in Travis County, TX indicted Gov Rick Perry for saying he was going to veto state funds to the local district attorney (Democrat) unless she resigned after her DUI arrest. He had lost confidence the in AG after seeing the way she acted. Now the Dems are trying to criminally convict the governor for saying he's going to veto a budget item. Seriously? Good grief, how many times to we see our Constitutionally challenged president say he's going to veto something?

These are Dem's in the same state that trumped up campaign finance charges against Tom Delay. It was all over the Jurassic Press how guilty he was leading up to his trial. Front page, lede news, forever and a day. BTW, the conviction was overturned. The appellate court ruled that "the evidence was legally insufficient to sustain DeLay's convictions". I don't remember reading or hearing about DeLay's conviction in the Jurassic Press. These knuckleheads are also from Travis County.

Heres' the vid of the processing of the drunk woman, District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg.

She has that attitude of ‘don’t you know who I am’?  Seriously? Anyone with any sense knows that when up bump up against the police, whether they’re right or wrong, only speak to answer a question and do exactly what they say.

Romney Uses Leftist Slime Tactics Against Perry

I'm terrified the early caucus states will vote Romney, following the usual Republican trend of selecting the next in line endorsed by the Rockefeller wing of the Party and we Conservatives will be forced to vote for him. He will no doubt be an improvement over Obama, but not by much. He's pro-global warming alarmist, pro-government controlled healthcare, and thinks it's okay to cave, compromise and "get along" with the Statist Democrats. He is not a Conservative, he's Democrat Lite, a RINO of the worst sort. This vid attack ad on Perry is yet another example of Romney's Leftist leanings, using their tactic of just piling on lies, slimming and smearing.

http://youtu.be/sNn56Cr98qE

There is not one truth in this, and no, I don't support Perry. I did, but he let his media "handlers" control him and he quit speaking accomplishments, his record and how he'll apply it at the national level. He comes across as false and untrustworthy as a result. And yes, debate ability is important. Many citizens aren't going to pay attention before the presidential debates, the moderators are all going to be Leftist spokesmen for Obama and the Democrat Party. The Republican nominee has to be able and willing to expose them for what they are as well as pound Obama's willingness and desire to crush the US economy and make us a second rate country.

What the Heck Is "Christian Dominionism" and How the Left Is Using It As A Political Bludgeon

Michelle Goldberg

Since Leftists and their Democrat Party have no arguments that defend their abysmal socio-economic record, they have to attack Conservatives and Republicans on their youthful indiscretions or their Christian beliefs. They even go so far as to attack family members (Bachman’s husband is a closet gay, Palin’s Down’s Syndrome son Trig was the result of incest between her husband and daughter). I read and study a lot of religion, and I’ve never heard of “Dominionism” and “Dominionists” and “Christian Reconstructionists”. If I haven't heard of it, rest assured regular day to day ordinary non-scholarly Christians have no idea of them. There are the Christian “Deconstructionists” that take form thorough the “Sojourners” and Marxist Jim Wallis. Will blog on that later.

Apparently Dominionists are a Christian fringe group advocating for Christian world dominion. Even though most Christians haven’t even heard of this group or idea, what the Left is doing is trying to connect individuals, specifically Bachman and Perry, to this group, and then connect that to Christians in general to it, and that to Islamofacists. A little odd, since many Leftists advocate for Sharia Law being incorporated into Western Civilization’s socio-economic values and structure, and refuse to call Islamofascist terrorists, terrorists. The Bishop of Canterbury has even said Sharia Law should be incorporated into Christianity.

"Put simply, Dominionism means that Christians have a God-given right to rule all earthly institutions. Originating among some of America’s most radical theocrats, it’s long had an influence on religious-right education and political organizing. But because it seems so outré, getting ordinary people to take it seriously can be difficult. Most writers, myself included, who explore it have been called paranoid.” I wouldn’t call her paranoid, just a Christophobe.
"Again, mainstream U.S. America doesn’t understand that people like Michele Bachmann have signed onto Bronze Age mythology, including its misogyny, its homophobia, its racism, and all the rest of it, and that that is the religion they are part of…, a bigot, and intolerant." Just like Islamofascists.
I remember reading an article by another bigoted Christophobe commentator saying the Reagan years were a horrible time because we lived in an oppressive Christian Theocracy. Really? Goldberg goes on to say: “Think of it like political Islamism, which shapes the activism of a number of antagonistic fundamentalist movements, from Sunni Wahabis in the Arab world to Shiite fundamentalists in Iran.” So there’s the link to terrorists and murderers in the name of religion, and that is what Christianity is really about too.

Goldberg and other intolerant bigots say Dominionists want the Constitution jettisoned and Old Testament laws to govern a Theocratic State. That would mean homosexuals, adulterers and the rest would be executed for their transgressions. Then they connect Bachman and Perry to this, and infer that all Christians advocate this. Of course when called on this idiocy they obfuscate and say that’s not what they meant. One of the reasons it’s hard to debate and discuss issues with Leftists is they say and do stuff, then say they didn’t say and do that stuff.

Goldberg on Perry: “Perry tends to be regarded as marginally more reasonable than Bachmann, but he is as closely associated with Dominionism as she is, though his links are to a different strain of the ideology.”

The reason she’s able to connect Perry and Bachman with Dominionism is they know somebody that knows somebody that may have expressed some ideas that Goldberg views as “Christian Nationalism”. Guilt by association, and all Christians are closet "Christian Nationalists".

There’s another character pushing this Christophobia, Frank Schaeffer, apparently an evangelical at one time. He’s with Goldberg that Bachman and Perry are “Dominionists” and their goal is to infiltrate the government an turn America into a theocracy, and from there to world domination. He claims Bachman “would replace American democracy with a theocracy on a Christian level that would mirror something like modern-day Iran after it fell to the Ayatollah Khomeini.” Even more a grievous lie is, “Again, mainstream U.S. America doesn’t understand that people like Michele Bachmann have signed onto Bronze Age mythology, including its misogyny, its homophobia, its racism, and all the rest of it, and that that is the religion they are part of…”

Of course the Jurassic Press picks up on this unquestioningly, and offers it up in watered down forms. Like the whole “submission” kerfuffle, they know nothing of Christianity, its theology or history, yet will propagate this as truth because their arguments for their Religion of the State carry no weight.

Gov Rick Perry's Speech at "The Response" Prayer Gathering and Intolerant Anti Christian Bigoted Leftist Response

The intolerant anti Christian bigots of the Left are in full attack mode about Perry being a practicing Christian. This is true of Leftist Christians and Jews as I wrote in my previous post. That people of like mind gather to pray for God's guidance in a time of national anguish is controversial to them. That Obama was a 20 year follower, was mentored by America hating, racist and communist Jeremiah Wright is given a pass by the bigots on the Left, officially represented by the Democrat Party and the Mainstream Media.

The bigoted intolerant Left that doesn't believe in freedom of religion is already using guilt by association by bringing up some Christian groups and people that have views not in the mainstream of Christian worship and theology. Many of these people are wrong, but the Left will focus on them, and use it to portray all Christians as believing such things. The hate filled lying has begun.

Here's a sample listing provided by the anti American communist magazine "Mother Jones", and another hit piece by MSNBC Leftist propagandist Lawrence O'Donnell which is a foretaste of the broadcast media's talking points. All hatred and lies, intolerance and bigotry.

Christians and Jews As Pro-State, Anti-Christian Bigots

Rick Perry, Texas Governor, possible Republican candidate for president, had announced last December that he wanted to have a prayer meeting, a day of fasting and prayer for national guidance in our country’s time of economic and cultural challenges. At one time this would have been thought a good thing by most. The confluence of aggressive intolerant anti Christian bigotry and lazy Christians that don’t truly practice and defend the Faith, has created a situation in which any Christian professes their Faith publicly gets attacked.

As I watched this scenario unfold this past week, I saw both Christians and Jews attack Perry for leading and participating in this event. The claim is that it’s a violation of separation of church and state. A stupid assertion since it’s not a government sponsored event, it's held on private property, no government money is being spent, and it’s all voluntary. Two of the major intolerant bigoted factions that are attacking this meeting are Leftist Christians and Leftist Jews. My contention that Leftists cannot be true to their religious faith because the State demands obedience to it first and God second, if at all.

I support the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in all it does to beat back anti-Semitism, though it seems to give in a pass in America by supporting Leftists and the Democrat Party which has proven itself to be anti-Semitic. A majority of Jews in this country vote Left, even in the face of that anti-Semitism, and here they are attacking Christians in general and Rick Perry in particular, for wanting to get together and pray and fast for the well being of our country.

This is part of the invitation to the event:
“Right now, America is in crisis: we have been besieged by financial debt, terrorism, and a multitude of natural disasters. As a nation, we must come together and call upon Jesus to guide us through unprecedented struggles, and thank Him for the blessings of freedom we so richly enjoy.
Some problems are beyond our power to solve, and according to the Book of Joel, Chapter 2, this historic hour demands a historic response. Therefore, on August 6, thousands will gather to pray for a historic breakthrough for our country and a renewed sense of moral purpose.
I sincerely hope you’ll join me in Houston on August 6th and take your place in Reliant Stadium with praying people asking God’s forgiveness, wisdom and provision for our state and nation. There is hope for America. It lies in heaven, and we will find it on our knees.”

The ADL has published a letter repudiating Perry for attending the event. The letter ends with this comment:
“Our concern is in no way based on hostility toward religion.  Rather, it is based on a deep belief in religious freedom.  It is one of America’s greatest strengths.  The best way to safeguard religious liberty for all Americans is for our government to keep its distance.  We therefore urge you to reconsider your participation in and involvement with The Response event.  We would appreciate hearing from you regarding this serious issue.”
This is being hostile toward religion, and specifically hostile to Christians. Basing this bigotry by redefining what the founding fathers meant by religious freedom is a Leftist tactic to secularize our government and marginalize religious people; the State before God. The founding fathers did not think so.

George Washington: “While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian.”

Thomas Jefferson: “God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever; that a revolution of the wheel of fortune, a change of situation, is among possible events; that it may become probable by Supernatural influence! The Almighty has no attribute which can take side with us in that event.”

There’s a huge segment of Christians that buy into this notion that religion, God, should take a back seat to the State. Fifty local, Houston, Christian groups have signed on to the intolerant bigoted letter from the ADL. The Houston Clergy Council followed that up with a letter of their own, stating:
’’Governor Perry has a constitutional duty to treat all Texans equally, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.”  “His official involvement with The Response, at minimum, violates the spirit of that duty.”

Martin B. Cominsky, ADL: “We strongly believe this statement, signed by so many of our most respected religious and community leaders, reflects the feelings of many Texans who are concerned that Governor Perry is overstepping his bounds in supporting an exclusionary sectarian religious event.”

A Christian, Perry, wants to get together with other Christians, to do a good thing based on their Faith, and we’re supposed to see that as a bad thing.

I see it as a bad thing that some Christians put the State before God, and attack a Christian that has a political job, that puts his Faith before the State. Once again, this event is being held on private property and no government money is being spent, and he’s attending as a man of Faith who happens to be a political official, not as a political official endorsing a Faith.

I think Perry is showing strength in his Faith that he’s still attending, getting together with fellow Christians to pray for our country. The people that put the State before God should not lie about what the Constitution and the founding fathers say about religion, siding with atheists and secularists.  Any person of any religion should rejoice and support this event, not attack and demean.
