Yeah! Another Win for Intolerant Bigoted Atheists

An Offensive Display in Santa Monica

Atheists have scoured another victory based on hate and intolerance, which is the foundation of their religion. Another Nativity scene will not be displayed this Christmas, this time in Santa Monica. I’ve always understood atheism to mean one didn’t believe in any deity; that’s it. Now it’s just another intolerant hate group.

The Santa Monica nativity scene has been around for about sixty years and was about two blocks long showing fourteen scenes. To replace it the anti-Christian hate group, the Santa Monica city council, had a lottery to decide what displays are presented. There are twenty-one plots; atheists won eighteen of them. Well, color me surprised! That sounds about right. Atheist’s holiday displays are nothing more than hate speech against Christians. What a great religion they have!

Before Christianity, in the pagan world, there was no such thing as charity. Atheists are against charity. Before Christianity there were no hospitals. Atheists hate hospitals. Before Christianity, in the pagan world there were only dictatorships; Judeo-Christian principle formed the foundation for a constitutional republic. Atheists hate democracy and love dictatorships; one of the first things a communist dictator does is crush religion. Atheist’s campaign of intolerance and hate works toward that end.

I’ve posted before who has provided most to the well being of people, equality, and a stable society, atheists or Jews and Christians? Who’s contributed most to the arts and architecture, atheists or Jews and Christians? Who said all people are equal, and started treating women as more than sex slaves to the passions of men, to be there only for child-bearing; Atheists or Christians?  

Atheism has offered nothing, contributed nothing, and believes in nothing but intolerance and hate. Used to be, since they didn’t believe in God, they didn’t care about religion. What happens when one doesn’t believe in God, there’s a vacuum, and it usually gets filled with something bad.

Burning Down the House of Morality and Culture

Probably Not Conservative or Religious

There’s been a lot of focus on jobs and the economy recently, combined with attacks on people of Faith, primarily Christians and Jews. It’s a deadly combination, because even if our material world is righted and the number of employed increase, there’s a bigger problem.

There has been a successful campaign against religion, especially Christianity and Judaism since the beginning of the 20^th century, and now we’re seeing the results. There are riots in Greece because they’ve spent and borrowed all they can and don’t produce then expect Germany and the EU to keep bailing them out so they can keep laying about without working and getting subsidies for non production from the government. The same can be said about the recent riots in London. Thugs running about, breaking into businesses and stealing; I suppose one could call it anarchic consumerism. 'Let others work and produce and let me take.'

'Let me take in and spend the tax money and not work; it’s my due for breathing.' Of course the world wide Jurassic Press blames Conservatives for this. Denying the little darlings all that money and goodies without having to work for it. How uncaring and mean! Must be tough. I have no idea where they think government gets money. The Leftist mantra of take more from the rich shows they don’t understand if all the wealth of all the rich all over the world were confiscated and redistributed, it would only last a few days. Then everyone would be poor. Apparently they don’t know the tale of the goose and the golden eggs.

This thinking is the result of embracing Marxist Materialism and rejecting the traditions of Judeo-Christianity. The principle of deferred gratification to benefit self and following generations, of the nuclear family, diminishing the importance of men as role models for boys, attacking the Church (Protestant and Catholic) which provided generational and social cohesion; in general undercutting the foundations of a fiscal and socially successful society.

Study after study, year after year, show children raised in nuclear families, with a married man and woman, are less likely by a wide margin, to become criminals, to adhere to social norms and contribute to society when they grow up. Religious people are more productive, happy, contribute more, volunteer more, are more charitable, earn more, rarely use drugs, in short become good citizens. Good, not perfect, but they make an attempt despite all our human weaknesses.

In all the protests we see, the destruction of cities and towns, the thieving mobs, I’d bet (gentleman’s bet) one would be hard pressed to find a church-going Christian, or synagogue-attending Jew in the mix. I think one would be hard pressed to find a teenage gang banger that has a stable family life with a traditional family participating.

Recently FEMA used the term “federal family”. That says a lot about Leftists' social mentality. The State replaces the nuclear family (and the State becomes the religion), and now we have children in adult bodies expecting mom and dad (the government) to take care of them forever. There’s even a mindset in my generation (baby boomers) that we should be able to retire at 65 years old and have the government take care of us for the next 20 or so we live. An example recently is the hissy fit Leftist employees of Wisconsin had when they were asked to pay a little more into their retirement. When people were adults they expected to work and contribute until they died.

Worse than having our financial capital exhausted by non producers and other rejecters of the traditional things that work, is our moral and cultural capital. Now it’s okay to have kids out of wedlock and leave the mother to raise them single handedly, it’s okay to steal, it’s okay to cheat, it’s okay to riot and do millions of dollars of damage if you don’t get your way. It’s okay to be irresponsible and not pay for the consequences of irresponsible behavior.

Because, you see, the traditional, hardworking, caring, loving, happy contributing people they so despise, will pay. They’re running into a problem now, and having temper tantrums like the children they are, because the people that have been tolerating their bad behavior, and paying the financial and social costs, are saying enough. If the good people stick to their guns, there may be hope for us. If not, we’ll continue down the Marxist Materialist hellhole.  

    

The "New Atheists" Need To Practice Self-Honesty and Tolerance

The “New Atheists” aren’t content with just stating they don’t believe, but have concocted a religion of intolerance of their own making with the soul premise of insulting believers. The attack is a forked tongue…if you believe in God you’re a stupid idiot that believes in fairy tales; and Christianity has caused more wars and bloodshed than anything or anyone else. The second we can just toss out because it’s a demonstrable lie.

Atheists seem to think they’ve developed their ethics and morality all on their own without the Judeo-Christian Ethic. In pagan societies there were no charities, women existed only for sexual pleasure and bearing children, and if the born child was not well formed or an unwanted female, or even if just unwanted, it was taken out and left to die. Pretty much what goes on in China (atheist State) presently. Archeological sites exist with just the bones of babies piled up, a disposal ground. Human life has value?

Human beings by nature are self centered, selfish creatures. We’re born bad, and that’s much, but not all, of what is meant by the phrase, “we’re all born sinners”.

We live in a culture that mostly reveres birth and children, unlike the ancient pagans. We live in a culture that allows women to vote and work, and contribute to society. Pagans didn’t. We live in a culture that condemns murder, and the pagans gave mixed messages about it. Our culture for the most part honors our parents, pagan cultures didn’t. Pagan cultures practiced slavery on a massive scale. Atheists contend we would have eventually abolished slavery without religion. Really? Did any of the pagan cultures do it? It was primarily Christians that lead the movement against slavery. Didn’t see any pagans, or atheists chiming in.

Much is made of equality in our culture. Atheists say we would have gotten here anyway. Really? Didn’t happen in pagan cultures. It’s because of the Judeo-Christian tradition, the idea that God created us in His image making us all equal that brought forth the idea of equality between men. Like all things, this had to evolve…so slave owners had to recognize the human equality of their slaves and set them free, and men had to recognize the human equality of women and open society for their participation and growth.

The “New Atheists” contend that their ethics and values, that match those that have been the foundation of Judeo-Christian values, would have manifested in modern society without religion. If so, why didn’t it? It was the Jews that first talked about equality among men (the starting point for equality of all), that talked about altruistic love, “love your neighbor” not just your family and fellow tribesmen. It wasn’t the ancient pagans that first came up with the notion. They lived during the same time period, and not a word about universal love. It was the early Christian movement that created the concept of charity, flying in the face of the selfishness. That too evolved into something that atheists see as a good thing. Not an idea pagans came up with, living in the same time period. Even now in Atheist China and the barbaric Islamic Middle East, women don't even rise to the level of second class citizens, and slavery is still practiced. If equality is so self evident, now that we're in modern times, why isn't it being practiced there?

Our culture values charity, universal love, the value of women, the value of children, the value of others not of our tribe. Not one that I can see is the result of pagan thinking or atheists’ philosophy. If these values were so universal that we would have come to embrace the same values, why aren't they, in modern times, embraced by China or Islamic countries?

Atheists should not be so intolerant of the religions, the Judeo-Christian Ethic that gave them the values they claim to hold dear. It should be enough for them, like traditional atheists, to just say “I don’t believe” and let it go. Speaking with a forked tongue about the source of the good things about our culture just shows bigotry and bad form. They should be thanking the Western Religions for these things, not lying and insulting them.

4th of July As a Religious Observance

Today is one of those July 4th's that happen on a Sunday. Despite protestations to the contrary from Secularists, this nation was founded on Judaic-Christian principles. Saying anything other than affirming this truth, makes them willfully ignorant or liars. Worshiping on this Sacred Day gives yet more meaning to our celebration of it.

I loved our Responsive Reading this morning:

Worship Leader: Many years ago the founder of our great nation gathered to initiate a new experiment in government.

Congregation: They were people of faith - faith in the providence of God and the competence of all citizens to manage their own destiny.

Worship Leader: They possessed a vision of a land where the human spirit, created free and owing ultimate allegiance only to the Creator, would be free to reach its highest potential.

Congregation: We are heirs of that faith and vision. We therefore come to worship this day asking God to continue to bless this land of ours, to keep watch over it and to protect it from the power s of tyranny and all that oppresses the human spirit.

Below is a rather long speech to read, but should be read by both Secular and Religious people. Secular people must be intellectually honest, and recognize that all they claim they believe in, the values, The Bill of Rights, the rule of law, the institutions of freedom, all have at their core, Judaic-Christian tradition. If there is no religious freedom, then there is no freedom, because there is nothing else to challenge the State.

On 23 August 1984, President Reagan spoke to an ecumenical prayer breakfast in Dallas, Texas.

"I believe that faith and religion play a critical role in the political life of our nation — and always has — and that the church — and by that I mean all churches, all denominations — has had a strong influence on the state. And this has worked to our benefit as a nation.

Those who created our country — the Founding Fathers and Mothers — understood that there is a divine order which transcends the human order. They saw the state, in fact, as a form of moral order and felt that the bedrock of moral order is religion.


The Mayflower Compact began with the words, “In the name of God, amen.” The Declaration of Independence appeals to “Nature’s God” and the “Creator” and “the Supreme Judge of the world.” Congress was given a chaplain, and the oaths of office are oaths before God.

James Madison in the Federalist Papers admitted that in the creation of our Republic he perceived the hand of the Almighty. John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, warned that we must never forget the God from whom our blessings flowed.

George Washington referred to religion’s profound and unsurpassed place in the heart of our nation quite directly in his Farewell Address in 1796. Seven years earlier, France had erected a government that was intended to be purely secular. This new government would be grounded on reason rather than the law of God. By 1796 the French Revolution had known the Reign of Terror. . . .

In 1962 the Supreme Court in the New York prayer case banned the compulsory saying of prayers. In 1963 the Court banned the reading of the Bible in our public schools. From that point on, the courts pushed the meaning of the ruling ever outward, so that now our children are not allowed voluntary prayer. We even had to pass a law — we passed a special law in the Congress just a few weeks ago to allow student prayer groups the same access to schoolrooms after classes that a young Marxist society, for example, would already enjoy with no opposition.

The 1962 decision opened the way to a flood of similar suits. Once religion had been made vulnerable, a series of assaults were made in one court after another, on one issue after another. Cases were started to argue against tax-exempt status for churches. Suits were brought to abolish the words “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance and to remove “In God We Trust” from public documents and from our currency.

Today there are those who are fighting to make sure voluntary prayer is not returned to the classrooms. And the frustrating thing for the great majority of Americans who support and understand the special importance of religion in the national life — the frustrating thing is that those who are attacking religion claim they are doing it in the name of tolerance, freedom, and openmindedness. Question: Isn’t the real truth that they are intolerant of religion? [Applause] They refuse to tolerate its importance in our lives.

If all the children of our country studied together all of the many religions in our country, wouldn’t they learn greater tolerance of each other’s beliefs? If children prayed together, would they not understand what they have in common, and would this not, indeed, bring them closer, and is this not to be desired? So, I submit to you that those who claim to be fighting for tolerance on this issue may not be tolerant at all. . . .

There are, these days, many questions on which religious leaders are obliged to offer their moral and theological guidance, and such guidance is a good and necessary thing. To know how a church and its members feel on a public issue expands the parameters of debate. It does not narrow the debate; it expands it.

The truth is, politics and morality are inseparable. And as morality’s foundation is religion, religion and politics are necessarily related. We need religion as a guide. We need it because we are imperfect, and our government needs the church, because only those humble enough to admit they’re sinners can bring to democracy the tolerance it requires in order to survive.

A state is nothing more than a reflection of its citizens; the more decent the citizens, the more decent the state. If you practice a religion, whether you’re Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, or guided by some other faith, then your private life will be influenced by a sense of moral obligation, and so, too, will your public life. One affects the other. The churches of America do not exist by the grace of the state; the churches of America are not mere citizens of the state. The churches of America exist apart; they have their own vantage point, their own authority. Religion is its own realm; it makes its own claims.

We establish no religion in this country, nor will we ever. We command no worship. We mandate no belief. But we poison our society when we remove its theological underpinnings. We court corruption when we leave it bereft of belief. All are free to believe or not believe; all are free to practice a faith or not. But those who believe must be free to speak of and act on their belief, to apply moral teaching to public questions. . . .

Without God, there is no virtue, because there’s no prompting of the conscience. Without God, we’re mired in the material, that flat world that tells us only what the senses perceive. Without God, there is a coarsening of the society. And without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure. If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."
