The History of the Democrat Party's War on Women Going Back to the Late 1800's

Several times in this blog the racist past of the Democrat Party has been documented, most fully here. Through their control, the willingness of the Jurassic Press, and the indoctrination system mistakenly identified as our "education" system, most believe it's Republicans and Conservatives that are the racists.

In the last election cycle, and continuing even a year and more later, the "war on women" continue to be a Democrat Party, Jurassic Press, "education" mantra attributing it to Republicans and Conservatives.

The actual history of this "war on women", like racism, is all Democrats, and can most notably be traced back to the late 1800's, like the racist pro-slavery Civil War fomented by the racist Democrats.  The current propaganda is because Republicans, Conservatives, Christians, don't think the general taxpaying public should be forced to pay for abortion on demand and any time during a pregnancy, including partial birth abortion, and the same should pay for contraception, then that constitutes a war on women and misogyny.

Just like the slavery laws, KKK laws, lynching laws, Jim Crow laws, racist anti-black civil rights laws and voting laws, the laws against women's rights are Democrat Party supported and enforced laws.

Republican A.A. Sargent of California introduced 19th amendment in 1878, to give women the right to vote. Shot down by the Democrat controlled Congress. Utah by the way, passed legislation in 1870 allowing women to vote. The Democrat Congress overturned that legislation by passing the Edmunds-Tucker Act of 1882, oppressing the right of women to vote. That legislation did some other illegal things as well, but not the topic here.

The Republicans continued to bring up the right of women to vote every year since Sargent introduced it, and it was denied, tied up in committee, until 1874 when Democrats finally allowed a floor vote, and it did not pass 34-16. Women and Republicans decided to go the states rights route, and Republican controlled states, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, and beginning the 20th century Washington and California followed suit.

The midterm elections of 1918 saw Republicans swept into federal office, and the Democrats lost the majority. Republican Rep. James R. Mann brought the 19th Amendment back up, and lo and behold, with the Republicans in the majority, it passed! It had to be ratified, and 26 of 36 states did, all of them with Republican legislatures. Twelve Republican states had given women the right to vote before it became federal law.

There you have it, the long sordid history of the Democrats war on women. It continues, but you won't hear about it in the Jurassic Press and the Democrat Party covers it up by blaming someone else with their lies.

Spielberg's "Lincoln" Good Movie Followed by Big Lie

Yesterday I saw Spielberg's "Lincoln" which made the passage of the 13th Amendment about as interesting as possible. The acting was brilliant.  Reviewers and responders on blogs got all caught up in the portrayal of Lincoln and the tenor voice, and with historical minutiae. It's not a documentary; good grief. Of course there are going to be artistic liberties taken. Surprisingly, Spielberg, screenwriter Tony Kushner, and Daniel Day Lewis, all Statist, Leftist Radicals, didn't rewrite history and avoided the standard attacks on Republicans. Actually it was a pretty good sketch of the events getting the anti-slavery amendment passed, and correctly portrayed the Democrats as the pro-slavery Party.

The meme is that it's the Republican Party that's racist and segregationist. The opposite has always been the case. Spielberg has been saying in interviews that Dems and Republicans "have traded political places over the last 150 years".  A blatant lie.

The Dems were the ones that fought against civil rights legislation in the mid twentieth century, were the supporters and members of the KKK and all the rest of the horrible treatment of Blacks in this country. It's the Democrats that have impoverished and enslaved Blacks in the Urban Plantation in the twentieth century, and continue to do so. Black unemployment is in the high teens, and going up under a Black Democrat president.

Here is the history of the Racist Democrat Party vs the Republican Party. By the way, most Blacks were members of the Republican Party from the end of the Civil War into the early 20th century. Then the Dems did then, what they do now, offered a lot of free stuff. No such thing as free stuff, but people vote for their own oppression on the promise of free stuff.

The Democrats:
Democrats fought to expand slavery while Republicans fought to end it.
Democrats passed those discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws.
Democrats supported and passed the Missouri Compromise to protect slavery and the Kansas Nebraska Act to expand slavery.

Democrats supported and backed the Dred Scott Decision.

Democrats opposed educating blacks and murdered our teachers.

Democrats fought against anti-lynching laws.

Democrat Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia, is well known for having been a “Kleagle” in the Ku Klux Klan. Byrd filibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for 14 straight hours to keep it from passage.

Democrats passed the Repeal Act of 1894 that overturned civil right laws enacted by Republicans.

Democrats declared that they would rather vote for a “yellow dog” than vote for a Republican, because the Republican Party was known as the party for blacks.

Democrat President Woodrow Wilson, reintroduced segregation throughout the federal government immediately upon taking office in 1913.

Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s first appointment to the Supreme Court was a life member of the Ku Klux Klan, Sen. Hugo Black, Democrat of Alabama.

Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s choice for vice president in 1944 was Harry Truman, who had joined the Ku Klux Klan in Kansas City in 1922.

Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt resisted Republican efforts to pass a federal law against lynching.

Democrat President Franklin D. Roosevelt opposed integration of the armed forces.

Democrat Senators Sam Ervin, Albert Gore, Sr. and Robert Byrd were the chief opponents of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Democrats supported and backed Judge John Ferguson in the case of Plessy v Ferguson.

Democrats supported the School Board of Topeka Kansas in the case of Brown v The Board of Education of Topeka Kansas.

Democrat public safety commissioner Eugene “Bull” Connor, in Birmingham, Ala., unleashed vicious dogs and turned fire hoses on black civil rights demonstrators.

Democrats were who Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the other protesters were fighting.

Democrat Georgia Governor Lester Maddox “brandished an ax hammer to prevent blacks from patronizing his restaurant.

Democrat Governor George Wallace stood in front of the Alabama schoolhouse in 1963, declaring there would be segregation forever.

Democrat Arkansas Governor Faubus tried to prevent desegregation of Little Rock public schools.

Democrat Senator John F. Kennedy voted against the 1957 Civil rights Act.

Democrat President John F. Kennedy opposed the 1963 March on Washington by Dr. King.

Democrat President John F. Kennedy, had Dr. King wiretapped and investigated by the FBI.

Democrat President Bill Clinton’s mentor was U.S. Senator J. William Fulbright, an Arkansas Democrat and a supporter of racial segregation.

Southern Democrats opposed desegregation and integration.

Democrats opposed:

1.The Emancipation Proclamation
2.The 13th Amendment
3.The 14th Amendment
4.The 15th Amendment
5.The Reconstruction Act of 1867
6.The Civil Rights of 1866
7.The Enforcement Act of 1870
8.The Forced Act of 1871
9.The Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871
10.The Civil Rights Act of 1875
11.The Freeman Bureau
12.The Civil Rights Act of 1957
13.The Civil Rights Act of 1960
14.The United State Civil Rights Commission

Republicans gave strong bi-partisan support and sponsorship for the following
legislation:

1.The Civil Rights Act of 1964
2.The Voting Rights Act of 1965
3.The 1968 Civil Rights Acts
4.The Equal Opportunity Act of 1972
5.Goals and Timetables for Affirmative Action Programs
6.Comprehensive Employment Training Act of 1973
7.Voting Rights Act of Amendment of 1982
8.Civil Rights Act of 1983
9.Federal Contract Compliance and Workforce Development Act of 1988

The Republicans:
Republicans enacted civil rights laws in the 1950’s and 1960’s, over the objection of Democrats.
Republicans founded the HBCU’s (Historical Black College’s and Universities) and started the NAACP to counter the racist practices of the Democrats.
Republicans pushed through much of the ground-breaking civil rights legislation in Congress.
Republicans fought slavery and amended the Constitution to grant blacks freedom, citizenship and the right to vote.

Republicans pushed through much of the groundbreaking civil rights legislation from the 1860s through the 1960s.

Republican President Dwight Eisenhower sent troops into the South to desegregate the schools.

Republican President Eisenhower appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the Supreme Court, which resulted in the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education decision.

Republican Senator Everett Dirksen from Illinois, not Democrat President Lyndon Johnson, was the one who pushed through the civil rights laws of the 1960’s.

Republican Senator Everett Dirksen from Illinois wrote the language for the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

Republican Senator Everett Dirksen from Illinois also crafted the language for the Civil Rights Act of 1968 which prohibited discrimination in housing.

Republican and black American, A. Phillip Randolph, organized the 1963 March by Dr. King on Washington.

The 1964 Civil Rights Act Roll Call Vote: In the House, only 64 percent of the Democrats (153 yes, 91 no), but 80 percent of the Republicans (136 yes, 35 no), voted for it. In the Senate, while only 68 percent of the Democrats endorsed the bill (46 yes, 21 no), 82 percent of the Republicans voted to enact it (27 yes, 6 no).

Thaddeus Stevens, a Radical Republican that introduced legislation to give African Americans the so-called 40 acres and a mule and Democrats overwhelmingly voted against the bill.

During the Senate debates on the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, it was revealed that members of the Democratic Party formed many terrorist organizations like the Ku Klux Klan to murder and intimidate African Americans voters. The Ku Klux Klan Act was a bill introduced by a Republican Congress to stop Klan Activities.

History reveals that Democrats lynched, burned, mutilated and murdered thousands of blacks and completely destroyed entire towns and communities occupied by middle class Blacks, including Rosewood, Florida, the Greenwood District in Tulsa Oklahoma, and Wilmington, North Carolina to name a few.

History reveals that it was Abolitionists and Radical Republicans such as Henry L. Morehouse and General Oliver Howard that started many of the traditional Black colleges, while Democrats fought to keep them closed. Many of our traditional Black colleges are named after white Republicans.

After exclusively giving the Democrats their votes for the past 25 years, the average African American cannot point to one piece of civil rights legislation sponsored solely by the Democratic Party that was specifically designed to eradicate the unique problems that African Americans face today.

As of 2004, the Democrat Party (the oldest political party in America) had never elected a black man to the United States Senate, while the Republicans had elected three.

Neo-Racism, Afrocentrism

Few things I hate in this world, though there is much one could. The word is so visceral. The list is short; Communism, Fascism, Socialism. Now a most vile sort of neo-Racism, led by Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the New Black Panther Party, many Black “Christian” leaders such as Jeremiah Wright that denounces God, and that is Afrocentrism.

A socialist Afrocentric blog I visit regularly, “African American Reports”, continually reports all the failures of the Black community on Whites. I’ve even seen the term “whitey” there. They’ve been pretty civil to my responses to the postings there, rare on Leftists’ sites. The wall they have built to prevent truth is high and thick. I had pointed out once the historical racism of the Democrat Party. I could hear crickets.

I have to ask, who’s fault? The Black community has supported the Left’s destruction of the family, of forcing them into urban plantations know as “The Projects”, and ensuring their children are not educated to contribute to society and prosper. 70% of Black children are born out of wedlock. True, the same can be said of poor white women, and the majority of Hispanics. The Left celebrates the destruction of the family, and since 95% of Blacks vote Democrat, this horrendous statistic in their own community is their own fault. One can only assume since they elect the people that create the laws that make this happen, they must approve of it.

We all hear of Black students that do well are marginalized by other Black students. The good students have to hide their achievements or give up. There was a 13 year old girl, Jada Williams, for example, tasked to read Narrative of Life by Frederick Douglass. She, like most of her fellow students, are Black. She had read the line by him about education, that “It would forever unfit him to be a slave”. She took that to heart and wrote a blistering essay about the failures of the education system. She was attacked and marginalized by not only students, but by (white liberal) teachers. She was targeted by students, teachers, school administration, and district supervisors. She was an A student, her grades dropped to a D, and when her mother asked to see the work that generated the bad grades, the school refused. White people, (well, maybe Liberal White People), are not responsible for this travesty. Black people in their own community not only stand for this injustice, but support it. In Washington DC an education program that was showing profoundly successful results was shut down. The city is run by Blacks, the education system by White Liberals. The decision to deny Black Children education could have been stopped, but was supported by the Black Community.

Crime. The cold hard truth is that Blacks commit more crimes than whites, far out of proportion to their percent of the population. That’s the reason more Blacks are in prison, and it has nothing to do with Racism. Violent crimes committed by Blacks against Whites is 39% higher than Whites against Blacks.  In 90% of race crimes, the victims are White. This is from FBI and Justice Dept statistics, and the Justice Dept is run by Black Racist Eric Holder. Of course the Afrocentric response are these are White People’s statistics, and refuse to address the issue. Going back a bit to the education part of this, Black kids are the ones most likely to act up in class, disrupting the learning experience of kids that want to learn. Of course White Liberal educators and the Black Community say it’s only because Black children are being discriminated against. By whom, White Liberal educators? They’re the one’s ensuring kids don’t get an education. That’s where the discrimination lies, creating the tyranny of ignorance and low expectations.

Lastly, Trayvon Martin. Racist, Afrocentrist haters and race hustlers, like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Barack Obama have ginned this up for political and power reasons. Spike Lee, leading Hollywood racist, even gave the wrong address of Zimmerman and endangered the lives of two old people living there; they had to flee their home. He had to be forced to apologize, and it was one of those non-apology apologies. A $10,000 bounty is out for Zimmerman. Is this a way for a just society to act?

45% of Black crime is against Whites. 43% Black on Black. Blacks are seven times more likely to end up in prison than Whites, Orientals, or Hispanics. Blacks are eight times more likely to commit armed robbery, three times more likely to use a handgun. The Left, Democrats, gin up hatred of Whites, blame for cultural and societal problems on Whites. Blacks, 95% to 5% vote to support this. Maybe Blacks need to review what they are doing, who they support in culture and politics. Do they want to stop violence, hatred, poverty, bad to no education, and continue down this path? Then comes the scary thought. Are we going to end up in a violent race war? Since Obama has come to power with his neo-racism from the presidential bully pulpit, gun and ammo sales by Whites is ever increasing. Real or perceived threat from the Black population? Is it going to make much of a difference? Perception is reality.

Progressivism: A Living Oxymoron, Liberty Through the Oppression of the State

In my Marxist days, I believed the best, if not the only, way to get the poor and sick taken care of was to have the government in charge of it. To get that done money had to be taken from rich folks to pay for taking care of the sick, and the poor were poor through no fault of their own, it was rich people’s fault. I was often poor, even homeless a couple times. Thing was, I found work, sometimes two jobs, and worked my way out of it. That I was poor was because of my own decisions. I returned to the Church and Christianity, and noted that faith tradition puts on each of us to help and heal the sick and help the poor, and with God’s guidance, do well for ourselves, usually by being in service to others. It’s not government’s responsibility; it’s mine and yours, personally.

If we’re the moral and ethical creatures we claim to be, then we take action on that, not get the political class to shake down producers in the name of the less fortunate. How did it come to be so many in a democracy give up personal responsibility for self and service and pass this ethical imperative to the State? That shift results in racism and oppression, anti-Semitism, anti-Christian bigotry, and yet nearly half our population mistakenly believes it’s Liberty that leads to those horrible things.

At the beginning of the 20th century there were a bunch of social scientists that came out of European economic thinking, mostly German, which stated economics should be, at its base, ethical. The leading thinker who was most influential in moving this notion forward was Richard Ely. His influence, (who knew?) served as the foundation of the New Deal, which in turn became the foundation for turning the US into a socialist state. All this was the “Progressive” Movement. Ely said, “To the demands of ethics, it is felt, should the entire economic life be made subservient.” He talked about this being the “ethical ideal” of social ethics. The “ethical ideal” he said “animates the new political economy”. It’s “the most perfect development of all human faculties in each individual, which can be attained.” From this he contended the government would foster, create and increase in people more love, knowledge, compassion and whatever else he and his fellow progressives decided would make better human beings.

This takes away individual freedom, which he pronounced a “negative freedom”, and needs to be replaced by “true liberty” which prompts us to become the most we can be by being forced to be in the service of others. Jesus taught us that service is the highest expression of our humanity, and those that willingly serve were “the greatest among you”. Ely and his fellow progressives did not, and progressives now (aka Democrats and other Leftists) do not believe people capable of that, so must be compelled by the State to “serve” others. A result of that is Progressives think taking care of others is best done by becoming a member of the political class, not going out and actually personally caring for others.

When mere people are left to their own devices, there’s a cycle of lots of help and service, down to less, up to more. Things run in cycles. Things get better, things get worse and so it continues; Natural Law. Progressives contend this isn’t a good thing, and by them controlling everyone, making them be of “service”, then that natural law can be stopped, and only then can things get “progressively” better in a linear manner.
People need, of course, to be trained on how to become servants of the State, often referred to as “the masses” (hate that term, but it makes Leftists, Dems and progressives easily identifiable) before they are granted the right to be contributors to the social good. One group especially needing extra guidance was and is our Black brothers and sisters. Some races needed extra guidance, and rejected the idea of the Founding Fathers that all men are created equal. Ely again: “For a long time in this country we were inclined to regard men as substantially equal, and to suppose that all could live under the same economic and political institutions. It now becomes plain that this is a theory which works disaster, and is, indeed, cruel to those who are in the lower stages, resulting in their exploitation and degradation.”  Of course non-whites need not apply for personal Liberty. White people must educate them how to be free.

The colonial occupation or the imperialism of the late 18th and early 20th century American foreign policy was a result of this notion than lesser races needed help from those more enlightened. Albert Beveridge, a progressive leader of the early 20th century, on the idea America should withdraw from the Philippines: “Self-government is a method of liberty — the highest, simplest, best — but it is acquired only after centuries of study and struggle and experiment and instruction and all the elements of the progress of man. Self-government is no base and common thing to be bestowed on the merely audacious. It is the degree which crowns the graduate of liberty, not the name of liberty’s infant class, who have not yet mastered the alphabet of freedom. Savage blood, Oriental blood, Malay blood, Spanish example — are these the elements of self-government?”

Back in the US, Progressives were against the 15th amendment which denied government, state, local or federal, to deny the right of citizens to vote based on “race, color, or previous condition of servitude”. Another Progressive leader at the time, John R Commons, on the notion that everyone should have a right to vote: “…after many thousand years of savagery and two centuries of slavery, was suddenly let loose into the liberty of citizenship and the electoral suffrage. The world never before had seen such a triumph of dogmatism and partisanship. It was dogmatism, because a theory of abstract equality and inalienable rights of man took the place of education and the slow evolution of moral character.”

These “progressives” actually advocated putting African Americans in labor camps and while their parents were “laboring” put their children in “progressive" schools to learn how to be free. As Blacks became more educated they could be released from the labor camps, after passing a “literacy test”. Does that sound familiar? That idea was used by Democrats in the South well into the 20th century to oppress the Black vote. Here’s the justification for labor camps, written by another “progressive” leader of the time, Charlotte Perkins Gilman: “…Given: in the same country, Race A, progressed in social evolution, say, to Status 10; and Race B, progressed in social evolution, say, to Status 4. . . . Given: that Race B, in its present condition, does not develop fast enough to suit Race A. Question: How can Race A best and most quickly promote the development of Race B?”

Fredrick Douglas protested this, saying it was re-enslaving Blacks. Gilman’s response that it isn’t enslavement: “It is no dishonor but an honorable employment from the first, and the rapid means of advancement. . . . All should belong to it — all, that is, below the grade of efficiency which needs no care. For the children — this is the vital base of the matter — a system of education, the best we have, should guarantee the fullest development possible to each; from the carefully appointed nursery and kindergarten up to the trade school fitting the boy or girl for life; or, if special capacity be shown, for higher education.”

Setting Blacks in camps is segregation, promoted and practiced by Democrats well into the 20th century; segregated schools, restaurants, bathrooms, drinking fountains. Literacy tests. The idea Blacks were inferior, that not all men are created equal, is a Leftist, Progressive, idea, promoted and practiced by the Democrat Party. This idea lasted even into the 1960’s when a majority of Democrats voted against the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Bills. More on the Racism and violence of the Democrat Party here.

All the programs that have bankrupted this country morally, culturally, religiously, and economically can be laid at the feet of “Progressives”, Leftists, Socialists, and the Democrat Party. W.W. Willoughby, another shining light of this philosophy of oppression of the State being true freedom, on the attributes of the State: “…that which first impresses one . . . is its possession of omnipotent rulership over all matters that arise between itself and the individuals of which it is composed.”

“Omnipotent Rulership”. The Left, Democrats…they decide, not you, how you behave, what decisions you make in your life, who you care about, how you care about them, how your serve your fellow man or not, how much of your income you get to keep.

This is a summary of and my thoughts on an article by Tiffany Jones Miller, "Progressivism, Race, and the Training Wheels of Freedom"
