Obama in a Nutshell
"Capitalists don't view profits as evil or the product of greed. Their opponents -- call them Marxists, fascists, socialists, radical liberals or whatever -- do. Which brings us ... to Barack Obama. Both his father, Barack Obama Sr., and his mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, were communists. His church of choice was one of black liberation theology, whose Marxist roots are inarguable. He associated with far leftists on the 'organizing' streets of Chicago, including Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. Mentorship and associations are one thing, but what have Obama's words and actions revealed about his attitudes toward labor, capital, profits and government control of business and industry? Well, he said that he would raise capital gains tax rates, even if it reduced revenues, as a matter of fairness. It's only fair to make everyone poorer if you believe profits are inherently evil. He told Joe the Plumber he wants to spread the wealth around. He talked about confiscating Exxon Mobil's profits and giving them to consumers, saying 'they are not going to give up those profits easily.' He called Chrysler creditors 'speculators' and castigated them for refusing to accept his extortionist reorganization plan. He berated Wall Street for making profits, saying 'now is not (the) time' for them to 'rake in profits.' He and his wife even railed against the pursuit of profit in their respective commencement addresses. He abused the power of his office to steal money from GM and Chrysler shareholders and transfer it to the proletariat, I mean, the United Auto Workers. He redistributed taxpayer money from those who have paid their mortgages to those who have not. He is desperately trying to spread the misery and impoverish businesses and individuals through his cap and tax plan, which no proponent of economic growth and prosperity would consider supporting. And in addition to gobbling up other businesses and industries, he is trying to nationalize medicine -- to siphon off the evil surplus value charged by doctors and insurance companies -- on the flawed Marxist theory that he can reduce costs overall, when the reason health care costs have already skyrocketed is that market forces have been suppressed in the industry. You don't have to call him a Marxist, but at least understand where his heart is." --columnist David Limbaugh
Al Franken-Clown, Thief, Liar
"[Al] Franken is an admitted clown. As such, he will be the only admitted clown in the United States Senate, though he will be seated with such clownish figures as Sen. John Kerry and Sen. Harry Reid. ... Upon hearing of the [Minnesota Supreme] court's decision, Franken joked that he was 'thrilled and honored by the faith that Minnesotans have placed in' him. That is not a very funny joke, but Franken is not funny. By 'Minnesotans,' he probably is attempting irony in referring to his supporters on vote canvassing boards in several left-leaning counties, who turned up a sufficient number of thitherto-uncounted votes to give him the edge. In the Nov. 4 election, Coleman won by 725 votes. After a recount, he still won by 215. Then Franken's 'Minnesotans' got busy canvassing. They demanded that votes once disqualified in their counties be counted. They found thousands of absentee ballots previously rejected for such indelicacies as fabricated addresses. Coleman cried foul and asked that one statewide standard be applied to all recounts. However, he got nowhere with this plea for equal protection of the law, and in the meantime, Franken's larcenous operatives picked up 1,350 more absentee votes, some bearing the names of pop singers. Ultimately, Franken's team managed a 312-vote victory from the 2.9 million votes cast. Palin Derangement Syndrome Continuing
Erik Sean Nelson in the Huffington Post; I read he writes fiction and comedy, so how's this for a chuckle: "Palin Will Run In '12 On More Retardation Platform." The post was taken down and replaced with an lame apology.
Regarding all three MSM TV outlets, CBS, NBC, ABC, all called the resignation “bizarre.” Gee, how many politicians have left office before their term expired? Remember any of them called bizarre? NBC's Chuck Todd: "She may spend the next year campaigning for Republicans all across the country. She's probably going to be the person that can attract the largest crowds, some of it is car-wreck watchers -- you know, they just are coming, kind of curiosity-seekers. It doesn't matter. She can attract a lot of people."
Ex-MSNBC anchor Dan Abrams: “Sarah Palin, to me, is like the representative of everything that’s gone wrong [for the Republican Party] lately.”
Comedian Chuck Nice: “Yeah, she’s a maverick!...And I’m going to say this, and please don’t take it the way it sounds. But, Sarah Palin to the GOP, this is what I’ve got to say: She is very much like herpes — she’s not going away. Okay? That’s it.”

It was an almost impossible mission, but in resigning from office with 17 months to go in her first term, Sarah Palin has made herself the bull goose loony of the GOP." What's Important to the MSM?
What's important to the MSM is celebrity this week, even abandoning their bashing of Republicans, Traditionalists and Conservatives, is to over-cover the death of a tragic human being; a pop singer pedophile drug addict. By the way, if you think there's too much coverage of Jackson's death, you're a racist (I read that in a article a couple days ago and can't find it now to link).
A couple days after Jackson's death seven soldiers were killed in Afghanistan. Their deaths earned a total of less than one minute combined on the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts on this past Monday night.
On Anderson Cooper's "360" 40 seconds were spent on the “Wife-Carrying World Championship” in Sonkajarvi, Finland and how the winner got his wife's weight in beer, and 15 seconds to Afghanistan.
From a letter to the editor, Washington Post by Martha Gillis: "My nephew, Brian Bradshaw, was killed by an explosive device in Afghanistan on June 25, the same day that Michael Jackson died. Mr. Jackson received days of wall-to-wall coverage in the media. Where was the coverage of my nephew or the other soldiers who died that week? There were several of them, and our family crossed paths with the family of another fallen soldier at Dover Air Force Base, where the bodies come “home.” Only the media in Brian's hometown [in Washington State] and where he was stationed before his deployment [Alaska] covered his death." ...He had old-fashioned values and believed that military service was patriotic and that actions counted more than talk. He wasn't much for talking, although he could communicate volumes with a raised eyebrow.”
Kudos to our military and their families, and once again shame on the MSM.

Being a conservative, I naturally spend an inordinate amount of time attempting to psychoanalyze left-wingers, trying to figure out what makes them tick. God knows I’m not bragging. It is, after all, time I could otherwise devote to alphabetizing my canned goods or trying to make contact with Harry Houdini, but I know from the large number of emails I receive that I’m not alone. The lunacy on the left is enough to turn a lot of us into little Sigmund Freuds.
For instance, why is it that lefties are so puzzled or pretend to be so puzzled that conservatives who are in favor of capital punishment are opposed to abortions -- particularly the 60,000 late-term abortions performed by the late unrepentant serial killer, George Tiller? Even a left-winger should be able to tell the difference between executing a cold-blooded murderer and sucking the brain out of an innocent little human being.
I’m wondering when the Mafia will officially ask for a government subsidy. Yes, I know it’s a criminal organization, but so is ACORN, which faces indictments for voter fraud in several states, and yet Obama and his Democratic cronies are funneling them millions of dollars.
Perhaps if liberals were merely wrong on all the issues, it would be easier to forgive them. But it’s their arrogance and self-righteous attitude that puts them beyond the pale. How often have we heard them claim that they’re being deprived of their right to free speech when what they’re actually complaining about isn’t censorship, but merely that a clear-thinking conservative has refuted some of their inane hogwash? Only liberals actually believe that if you disagree with them, you’re trampling on the 1st Amendment. For good measure, many of them -- including a number of pettifoggers in Congress -- are on an unholy mission to bring back the totalitarian device known as the Fairness Doctrine.
Speaking of fairness, I have come to see that Fox News is something like our own version of Radio Free Europe, getting the truth to those of us behind the Obama Curtain. What is ironic about the way that liberals carry on about TV Free America is that Fox has a large number of liberals on the payroll, including Greta Van Susteren, Bob Beckel, Geraldo Rivera, Alan Colmes, Chris Wallace, Juan Williams, Kirsten Powers and a few others, whereas CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, the NY Times and the Washington Post, collectively, have only one non-liberal on salary and that’s John Stossel, who doesn’t even identify himself as a conservative, but as a libertarian.
A question nobody has ever answered to my satisfaction is how it’s possible that media people such as David Corn, Eleanor Clift and Ellis Henican, who do nothing but parrot the same insipid DNC talking points as Charles Rangel, Barbara Boxer and Patrick Leahy, are able to make a decent living without at least having to run for office and win an election.
I’m not an expert on body language, but my attention has been called to the fact that when he was on the phone with Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu, President Obama was photographed with his feet on the desk in the Oval Office, and when he took his photo op tour of Auschwitz with Elie Wiesel, he had his hands in his pockets. Yet in the august presence of King Abdullah, he bowed respectfully.
Finally, we were told that the world’s leaders were going to cooperate with Barack Hussein Obama in a way they never had with his predecessor. Well, so far, they’ve all refused his invitation to send troops to Afghanistan and, just in case he didn’t get the message, they’ve all refused to take 241 Muslim terrorists off his hands.
Now, we have Newsweek’s managing editor, Evan Thomas, grandson of the former grand Poo Bah of the Socialist Party, Norman Thomas, telling us with a straight face that Obama is greater than God. It appears, however, that the world’s leaders don’t even think he’s greater than George W. Bush.

Ashamed of Their Country
Timothy Egan, Statist nytimes.com blogger: "Traveling in California and New York over the last couple of weeks, I noticed something in the summer landscape of these two deeply blue states that is more reminiscent of rural America this time of year -- a surfeit of American flags.
Among the offerings of street vendors in Harlem and outdoor stalls near the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the flag is often fused with the image of President Obama, a burst of color against a bleak wall, sometimes with a Superman motif. In California, I saw Old Glory on bicycles in the Bay Area, on backpacks in Yosemite and at campgrounds under the redwoods.
It's not unusual to see a flag in liberal provinces, of course. But in the Bush years of sanctioned torture and war built on deceit, many Americans withdrew from overt displays of patriotism. Some said they were ashamed of their country."
These guys can fly all the flags they want and I know they don't support the values and beliefs of this country. If they did, they wouldn't be working to 'change' and 'remake' America. The would be working within the framework of the Constitution to strengthen Liberty and Freedom, not make the population subservient in a new Amerika.

I'm puzzled that so many Statist press outlets continue to print and broadcast a singular point of view and attack the opposing view, causing them to hemorrhage readers, viewers and advertisers. Ideology triumphs over income and truth. They're like Hollywood's continued production of anti-American, violent, oversexed movies that loose money, when PG and G movies they can take to the bank. Our Dear Leader has suggested though, bail out money for failing Statist newspapers, so I guess Hollywood can hope for, and probably get the same. Ideology over income.
The Washington Post has just hired a guy for a new position called the “chief digital officer”, to manage and monitor WaPo's online operations. His name is Vijay Ravindran, a Statist operative for Harold Ickes who ran, if I remember correctly, Bill Clinton's '96 campaign. Ravindran was Ickes 'digital officer'. He developed the 'Catlist'. These are Statist operations groups, and you can see the list here. It includes ACORN (Obama's neo-Brownshirts), MoveOn.org, the National Resources Defense Council and Obama for America (the official Obama campaign).
I suspect if you're in the Conservative Movement, this wouldn't be the place to go to find any accurate news and information. I hope these guys and the rest of the myopically Statist press continues down this road to their eventual demise.

Johnny Depp Rewrites History, Praises Dillinger
As much as I appreciate the body of work of Depp, I won't be seeing this movie, which glorifies bank robber and murderer John Dillinger.
Dillinger, during the Depression robbed about $300,000, in today's dollars about $4.8 million. Depp sees this action as making Dillinger like Robin Hood. This is because, according to Depp, he only robbed from banks, not people. I think that these days, the money in banks is money that people put there. I'm pretty certain the same was true then. Dillinger never gave any money to poor people, he spent the money he stole from people on prostitutes and booze, cars and guns. A thing about Robin Hood; he didn't steal from the rich and give to the poor. He got back money from government officials (the Sheriff and the corrupt king)that taxed and stole from the people to enrich themselves. Kind of like government officials today. I see Robin Hood as a militant conservative stopping the government from stealing from the people and working to allow them to keep their earnings. I don't see Robin Hood taking money from anyone that actually earned it.
Depp idolizes this murdering bank robber. He thinks that the murdering, bank robbing Dillinger is a splendid man, and the real criminal is J. Edgar Hoover. Talking about Hoover Depp said, "I mean, who's the real criminal?"
Some quotes from Depp:
"I wanted to salute my grandfather through Dillinger and salute Dillinger through my grandfather. You know, my grandfather drove a bus by day back in the '30s and ran moonshine by night."
"The title of the film is 'Public Enemies,' but I don't see John Dillinger as an enemy of the public."

Dems Refuse to Stand for Pledge of Allegiance
I remember too, a few years ago, when the Republicans gained a majority in the assembly in Texas. Because the Dems didn't have enough votes to block some Republican legislation, they left the state! That way they wouldn't have to vote.
By the way, if you believe in free speech, you're a terrorist. According to California Assemblywoman Karen Bass: (I think she's the Speaker of the House there.)

Q: How do you think conservative talk radio has affected the Legislature's work?
A: The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: "You vote for revenue and your career is over." I don't know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it's about free speech, but it's extremely unfair.
Hopefully these guys will continue to leak the truth about what they are and their intentions. Maxine Waters last year stating her intention for the government to take over and run the oil companies here, during a committee hearing.
These guys are all about the government taking as much of your money as they can, denying free speech (The Fairness Doctrine reinstated), telling you what kind of light bulbs you can use, and where to put power sockets in your garage to power the car the government tells you you can drive. Make no mistake about it, these people now in power have no interest in the Constitution or Liberty. They are about oppression and Tyranny.
Obama Loves Dictators (Emulating Carter?)
The president of Honduras does an end around the constitution and tries to stay in power after his term is up. He has a referendum to change the constitution. Both the Judicial and Legislative branches say he can't do that. It's a violation of the Constitution. The Constitution can't be changed by referendum. They arrest him and throw him out of the country.
Obama immediately comes out in support of the guy, and says it's the Judiciary and Legislature that are having the coup to oust the president. Say what? By the way, like Obama, this guy is a full blown Statist, which is why Chavez is making noises that he's going to invade and prop up a puppet government to establish yet another dictator in the southern hemisphere.
Notice that Obama didn't come out immediately and support the struggle for Liberty in Iran. He did come out and support this guy in Honduras that tried to overthrow the government, and in total violation of the Constitution. Of course our president knows a lot about ignoring the Constitution.

Jenny Sanford is the wife of Republican Gov. Mark Sanford, of Argentinian mistress fame. She didn't get up on the podium with the guy while he confessed and shed his tears for getting caught, like so many political wives previously. Why do they do that? It ticks me off.
She had apparently given up a career as a Wall Street Executive for him, and even ran his campaigns.

Obama is creating yet another Statist agency, Consumer Financial Protection Agency, for more control and another czar. This agency is to force companies with fine print on their contracts not to have fine print. Michelle Malkin pointed this out in her blog. She notes that this is from a group of people that pass thousands of pages of legislation they haven't read, and don't give time for others to read either. Affairs of State
First of all, all these guys should keep it zipped up except for their spouse.
For a Republican politician, if the moral imperative isn't enough, how about keeping it zipped up for the Party? When a Statist has an affair, he will always get a pass from the MSM. It's only sex, and not anyone's business. If a Republican has an affair, he's a hypocrite, and it reflects on the Party. Republicans are supposed to be the party of 'Family Values'. We all know if you proclaim any kind of moral belief, and have a moment of weakness, you'll get pilloried. If you're a Statist, your only belief is the power of the State over the people. That's not hard to live up to. Just take other people's money (OPM) and reject the Constitution.
It's harder to be a Conservative. You have to think things out, not just be emotional and have good intentions. It's harder to be a Christian. You have to live by a moral code. Both these take effort and discipline. For God's sake, and your own, if you're one of these, walk the talk.

With the second quarter coming to a close, Fox News averaged about the same number of viewers as the top three other cable news networks combined. And while rivals including CNN (-22%) and MSNBC (-18%) took hits following last quarter's inauguration-fueled boost, Fox News (-3%) remained nearly steady.
Compared with last year, the Fox News (averaging 2.1 million viewers, 509,000 adults 25-54 quarter-to-date) is up 35% over last year in primetime viewers and 48% in the demo. CNN (805,000 viewers, 210,000 in demo) fell 16% in viewers and 29% in the demo. MSNBC (787,000 viewers, 259,000 in demo) climbed 15% in viewers and about on par, -3%, in the demo. And CNN Headline News (553,000, 201,000) showed very strong growth, up 39% and 37%, respectively, and is on track for its best second quarter.
The new standings are strong enough to rank Fox News third behind USA and TNT among all ad-supported cable networks for the quarter among primetime total viewers. In its core demo, Fox News had eight of the top 10 cable news shows. It had similarly sunny increases for total day, while CNN and MSNBC were roughly on par with last year."

The Obama's Still Haven't Chosen a Church
The Obama's still haven't found a church to attend. I can think of two reasons. One, there isn't one anti-American and racist enough in D.C. like Jeremiah Wright's that they attended for twenty years, and the other that they aren't Christians.
This is my 'turn about is fair play' moment. George Bush was ridiculed, hated and despised for being a practicing Christian. I suppose then it's fair to point out that the Obama's reject God. They certainly have proven that they think rights are granted by the State, and not by God.

The Long Arm of Tax Cheat Geitner and Obama
Tax Cheat Geitner, Sec of Treasury, who runs the IRS as part of his job, after not paying his own taxes, is going after US expatriates for tax revenue. Swiss banks are closing American's accounts and not offering banking services to Americans living abroad. The Swiss banking industry is famous for having undisclosed accounts.
These banks have to register with the US's SEC; the paperwork and hassles, and governmental intrusion isn't worth it, so Swiss banks are saying the hell with it. James Nason, spokesman for the Basel-based Swiss Bankers Association. “The reporting obligations certainly aren’t going to go down as the IRS is considering extending the QI, exporting its tax laws and trying to turn Swiss banks into agents of the IRS.”
How is it possible that Tax Cheat Geitner and Obama can go to another country and order their banks to give up information and comply with American laws. Can they do that? Can the Chinese or Russians come in and order US banks to comply with their banking laws? WTF???
If Americans living overseas don't comply, they can be rounded up, arrested, jailed and fined.

Are They Going to Heaven?
This past week three famous people died, and the usual media attention was given. These people will live on in some's personal memory and perhaps for awhile in our cultural memory. Those of us professing to be Christians have this notion that after dieing, good people go to Heaven and bad ones go to Hell.
Is that the case? In Ecclesiastes, "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing." "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going."
In Psalms, "The dead do not praise the Lord, Nor any who go down into silence."
The Scriptures talk about death as sleep. It doesn't say anything about people passing from this life and going to Heaven. What it does say, is that Heaven will come to us. From Revelation, "Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
Continuing in Revelation, "And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it. and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. There shall be no night there; They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever."
It doesn't look anyone is going to Heaven immediately, or soon. Plus, Jesus said no human has ever gone to Heaven. He said, "No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven." This is a pretty amazing statement to those believing that when a loved on dies, he/she goes to heaven, is in a better place, and is smiling down on us. In Peter's sermon in Acts, he says, "Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is of the dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day...For David did not ascend into the heavens..."
When we die, we go to sleep. Then Christ returns. In Thessalonians, "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall aways be with the Lord."
It seems that by going into a deep deep sleep, one would not be aware of the passage of time. When Christ returns, no matter if centuries passed, to the awakened it would only seem a moment had passed. It would seem to them that they had ascended immediately.
In the end though, we will all be with God.

Interview With Rick Warren, Author of 'The Purpose Driven Life'
Some insights that Rick Warren has, with his wife now having cancer and him having 'wealth' from the book sales. This is an absolutely incredible short interview with Rick Warren, 'Purpose Driven Life ' author and pastor of Saddleback Church in California.
In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said:
People ask me, What is the purpose of life?
And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were not made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven.
One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body-- but not the end of me.
I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act - the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity.
We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn't going to make sense.
Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you're just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one.
The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy.
We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that's not the goal of life. The goal is to grow in character, in Christ likeness..
This past year has been the greatest year of my life but also the toughest, with my wife, Kay, getting cancer.
I used to think that life was hills and valleys - you go through a dark time, then you go to the mountaintop, back and forth. I don't believe that anymore.
Rather than life being hills and valleys, I believe that it's kind of like two rails on a railroad track, and at all times you have something good and something bad in your life.
No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something bad that needs to be worked on.
And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank God for..
You can focus on your purposes, or you can focus on your problems:
If you focus on your problems, you're going into self-centeredness, which is my problem, my issues, my pain.' But one of the easiest ways to get rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and others.
We discovered quickly that in spite of the prayers of hundreds of thousands of people, God was not going to heal Kay or make it easy for her- It has been very difficult for her, and yet God has strengthened her character, given her a ministry of helping other people, given her a testimony, drawn her closer to Him and to people.
You have to learn to deal with both the good and the bad of life.
Actually, sometimes learning to deal with the good is harder. For instance, this past year, all of a sudden, when the book sold 15 million copies, it made me instantly very wealthy.
It also brought a lot of notoriety that I had never had to deal with before. I don't think God gives you money or notoriety for your own ego or for you to live a life of ease..
So I began to ask God what He wanted me to do with this money, notoriety and influence. He gave me two different passages that helped me decide what to do, II Corinthians 9 and Psalm 72.
First, in spite of all the money coming in, we would not change our lifestyle one bit.. We made no major purchases.
Second, about midway through last year, I stopped taking a salary from the church.
Third, we set up foundations to fund an initiative we call The Peace Plan to plant churches, equip leaders, assist the poor, care for the sick, and educate the next generation..
Fourth, I added up all that the church had paid me in the 24 years since I started the church, and I gave it all back. It was liberating to be able to serve God for free.
We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions? Popularity?
Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? Or am I going to be driven by God's purposes (for my life)?
When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better. God didn't put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do list. He's more interested in what I am than what I do.
That's why we're called human beings, not human doings.
Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.

Getting Old and Getting Down to Business
A huge huge huge segment of our population, the 'baby boomers', is moving into the traditional age of retirement. There is concern that this may cause a drain on the economy because of social security payments going out, a reduced work force, and retirement investments becoming a source of income.
Turns out this may not be so. Most entrepreneurs are seasoned citizens, not high energy, driven, creative younger people as conventional wisdom would have it. New businesses being created belong primarily to the group aged 55-64.
From the results of a study by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation:
In every single year from 1996 to 2007, Americans between the ages of 55 and 64 had a higher rate of entrepreneurial activity than those aged 20–34.
For the entire period, the 55–64 group averaged a rate of entrepreneurial activity roughly one-third larger than their youngest counterparts.
These trends seem likely to persist: in the Kauffman Firm Survey, a longitudinal survey of nearly 5,000 companies that began in 2004, slightly less than two-thirds of firm founders are between the ages of 35 and 54.
Additionally, Kauffman research has revealed that the average age of the founders of technology companies in the United States is a surprisingly high 39—with twice as many over age 50 as under age 25.

I found this particularly interesting since I sing in a choir. Volunteering as a part of this I had not thought of, but when I look at the choir I sing in, I think every one of us take on extra duties in the church and volunteer for things in the community. I certainly know that when one of us are suffering, the love and support is deep and true.

Interesting Theology-Jesus in the Old Testament
I'm reading an interesting book, "Shocked by the Bible". He makes some interesting observations; such as 'God the Father' isn't in the Old Testament. The opening to John: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God." This means that Christ is the Word, that God spoke creation into existence, and from then he spoke through the living Word, Christ. What that means is that Christ is cosmic, existing through all time. What that means is that Jesus was alive and working in the Old Testament.
I've read at least a couple hundred books of theology and church history, and I never picked up on this. It was Jesus in the Old Testament that Moses, Jacob, Abraham and all the other Patriarchs and others were seeing and talking too, not God. There are verses, which I'll refer to later, that support that no one saw God in the Old Testament, or ever. My Jewish friends will of course not accept this, and rightfully so. Jesus is not recognized as the Messiah by them.
Jesus at the Beginning. Verse 3 of John: "All things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made." He's talking here about the Word, Christ. Paul shores this up in Colossians, "For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him".
Jesus says in John, 5:46-47: "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writing, how will you believe My words?" It's pretty clear he's saying he's spoken to Moses.
No one has ever seen God. John again: "No one has ever seen God. But his only Son, who is himself God, is near to the Father's heart: he has told us about him." "And the Father himself, which who sent Me (Jesus speaking), has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form." 1 John 4:12 "No man has seen God at any time".
John is saying, and Jesus is confirming, that no one, ever, has seen God. So who was everybody seeing in the Old Testament?
When Abram had his name changed by God to Abraham, he was walking with someone, he was not having a vision. Abraham went to Sarah and had her fix dinner and had a calf prepared too. They sat around under a tree and dined. Jesus has said, remember, that no man has ever seen God.
I just find this mind boggling. That it was Jesus that was walking with and talking to all those people in the Old Testament. It fits right in with Jesus being the Word, and the Word is living, through all time.
Just something to ponder.

Cap and Trade-How It Worked in Spain
This is an article by George Will about how Cap and Trade worked in Spain. They have 18% unemployment. 2.2 jobs are lost for each 'green' job created. It takes millions of dollars to subsidize green jobs. We are going to import wind turbines and stuff from Spain. Where's the American jobs in that?

"...analysis we conducted at The Heritage Foundation, which is attached to my written statement, the higher energy costs kick in as soon as the bill's provisions take effect in 2012. For a household of four, energy costs go up $436 that year, and they eventually reach $1,241 in 2035 and average $829 annually over that span. Electricity costs go up 90 percent by 2035, gasoline by 58 percent, and natural gas by 55 percent by 2035. The cumulative higher energy costs for a family of four by then will be nearly $20,000."
"But direct energy costs are only part of the consumer impact. Nearly everything goes up, since higher energy costs raise production costs. If you look at the total cost of Waxman-Markey, it works out to an average of $2,979 annually from 2012-2035 for a household of four. By 2035 alone, the total cost is over $4,600."
We estimate job losses averaging 1,145,000 at any given time from 2012-2035."
Note too that the windmills and solar panels for 'green' energy are going to be built primarily in China, who will not reduce emissions; so their thick dirty filthy air (remember in the Olympics people having to wear masks to breathe?) will get worse, and of course catch the winds.
The phone lines are jammed, emails are jammed. protesting the passage of this bill. I got through by calling my congresswoman's local office. She's a full blown Statist and proven corrupt politician, but even if that's the situation you're in, call. We've stopped blanket amnesty for illegals and we stopped Hillarycare. After we stopped this huge tax increase and impoverishing Statist legislation, we must stop Obamacare the same way.
Not one legislator has read this bill. If they are voting for it, it's because of Statist ideology. They want you poor and dependent on the State.
