Fabianism: Arguably the Biggest Threat to Liberty

One of the most effective and dangerous movements and political philosophies, dating back to the late 19th century, is Fabianism. The idea is rather than have a revolutionary overthrow of a government, be patient and incrementally create Progressive\Socialist change. It's the frog in the warming water concept.

There's an actual Fabian Society, formed by Socialists in Britain in 1884. It was influential in laying the foundation for Britain's Labor Party. It continues to be powerful and influential and maintains several think tanks worldwide to guide Socialist governments.

Not surprisingly, at one time it advocated, like all totalitarian philosophies, eugenics...got to control those colored people, so let's kill them at birth. That was the basis for Margaret Sanger's Planned Parenthood. Through Fabianism, that abhorrent idea has been toned down to what we have now; an abortion mill financed by the government, which used to be citizens, but now we're (the few remaining productive ones) just taxpayers footing the bill for politicians, bureaucrats and their paymasters in the unions and several Socialist millionaires and billionaires that have got theirs.

Chipping away at Liberty here in the US, Socialists added income taxes, then added  progressive taxation to that. Then all the New Deal programs allowing the government to insert itself into our lives; reducing it's ability of perform the functions enumerated in the Constitution. In the 1960's were added Medicare and Medicaid, laying the groundwork for Socialized medicine, and currently being implemented by Our Dear Leader, Barack Hussein Obama and his totalitarian political party.

We have moved from local control of education at the beginning of this country, with students actually learning the three "R's" to centralized education. The purpose of that is indoctrination into socialism. That's currently being implemented by the "Common Core" program. Three "R's" need not be applied. Just a couple things "Common Core" focuses on instead is teaching; "informational texts" rather than literature for 50% of the time. Don't teach critical thinking or analysis. Less content knowledge and more about sex and touchy feely stuff.

Bit by bit Fabianism has reduced citizens' income by confiscating it to pay for government programs (depleting personal wealth depletes personal freedom and power), ceased educating students, opened borders, gutted the military, increased dependence on the government for nearly half the population, and now will decide what kind of, and how much we will pay to take care of our bodies through ObamaCare.

Socialism and Soft Porn

I've pretty much quit using the term 'socialist' when describing the Dems and Obama, mostly when I'm talking to one of them. I say communist. Gits 'em all riled up! Using the word "socialist" I liken to using "soft" porn.  It's impossible to have a discussion with them they are so fact deficient and ideological. Obama was mentored by a communist/racist, hung out with two domestic Marxist terrorists, spent 20 years in a racist anti-American church, became the best ever at applying Alinsky radicalism for tearing down capitalism and the structure of our constitutional republic.

I like what works. If communism worked, I'd be a communist. What nation or union had the most creativity, was most productive, had the most amount of people making the most amount of money, had the most goodies, and had freedom of the press, assembly and religion? US or Soviet Union? US or Red China? US or European Union? US or Cuba? Totalitarianism has a 100% failure rate. Yet Obama and his political party embrace that ideology of economic and social failure.

I was out with friends last night, and I commented on the flyer shown below, and one said he would have to see the vid. Vid? There's an actual flyer! From the event itself! Well anybody could make one of those and post it. And this is a guy that thinks Obama is a bad president. During our discussion he repeated all the Reelect Obama Press and Democrat Party talking points. I advised him he needs to find some other information sources.

Obama spoke at an event for the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) in 1996. This group was formed in 1982 as a coalition of  Old Leftist, Communists, and Socialists. There's an actual write up of event here. From that:

As Barack Obama noted, when someone gets paid $10 million to eliminate 4,000 jobs, the voters in his district know this is an issue of power not economics. Obama and Democrats by the Numbers

A Republican in the Executive Branch with the record laid out below would be driven out of office without hesitation. Bush 1 was driven out of office after one term, and overall didn’t do so bad a job. Bush 2 was excoriated in the media daily. He had, I think, 54 consecutive months of economic growth, and managed the beginning of World War IV; including ensuring no successful terrorist attacks on US soil. That was done with his opposition doing everything they could to assist the enemies of the United States...can’t listen to suspected terrorists conversing with people in the US, or follow their money, etc. Bush 2 blew it in the end by giving up on free markets and signing off on TARP and some other socialist stuff. Overall, pretty good job though. Clinton, overall, a pretty good job, though you can bet if a Republican was bangin’ the female staff in the oval office; he would have been booted out of office PDQ.

Now we have a Marxist ideologue, racist, anti-Christian, pro-Islamist buffoon as president. A guy raised by Communists, hung out in college with racists, Marxists, Stalinists, advocating the overthrow of democracy; our a constitutional republic. That’d be us, Americans. Throw in his blatant religious lie about his quarter century in the anti-American, pro-communist, anti-Christian (they were all about liberation theology, not the teachings and acceptance of Jesus Christ as personal savior) racist church of Jeremiah Wright. Obama said after a quarter century, hey, who knew? Truly?

That’s the set up. Here’s the numbers.

Obama gets elected with the unemployment rate 6.8%. It’s now 8.6%. About 950,000 people are no longer looking for work; they are not longer factored in. Add them in, and the unemployment rate is about 11.5%. About 25% of African American men are unemployed. How's that hope and change thing working?

Gas was $1.88 in 2009. It’s about $3.50 now and climbing. 102% increase.

Average electricity bills for households have increased about $300 per year since he’s been in office.

The Census Bureau reports about 146.4 million people are living at or below the poverty line. That’s 4 million more that when he took office.

Credit card debt is going up, especially among seasoned citizens who are having to supplement their incomes.

The average age of a car on the road now is 10 years. Over the past 20 years the average age was about 6.5 years.

Our national budget is about $3.8 trillion, but heck, lets round it up to $4 trillion. Our revenues are only about $2.1 trillion, and revenues will be going down, spending will be going up. Another $Trillion is being added to the debt ceiling this session of Congress. 

Much talk lately of this being the “food stamp president”. The Media Outlet for the Democrat Party, aka NBC, CBS, NY Times, LA Times, ABC, Time Magazine, etc. are all saying there were more people on food stamps under Bush. It’s amazing such blatant lies are fabricated and reported as fact, but we’ve come to expect it. Journalism died with the election of Barak Hussein Obama. Right now about one in seven Americans are on food stamps, about 14 million more people that when he took office. Pointing this out to the Jurassic Press and Democrats means you’re a racist. Problem is the majority of people on food stamps are white. I guess one could say Obama and the Dems are racist, forcing white people to go on food stamps.

Racial tension has skyrocketed. Energy costs have skyrocketed. The national debt has skyrocketed. Personal debt has skyrocketed. Everything that benefits the citizens of this country has plummeted.

Remember too, most of the 20th Century, the Democrat Party held power in Congress. They can blame Republicans all they want, but most legislation passed in the last 100 years was passed by them. The first two years of this administration, Democrats controlled both houses of Congress. They are the establishment. They write the rules. They are the ones responsible for this mess. The Republican Party is stupid and weak. Cowards. Blaming them for this mess is like blaming the little kid for getting beaten up by the bully. 

The guy is a looser, for the rest of us. For him and the Democrats, he’s a winner. They’ve gotten what they wanted. It’s like Nikita Khrushchev said, “We can't expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism.” Obama and the Democrats are continuing this legacy.

There’s way more at stake with this election than jobs and debt. 

American Socialism: The Promise, The Dream, The Reality

The Dream of the Left

Whenever I get the urge to engage a Leftist in a discussion of their political and economic views, I’m astounded what they think Socialism is. Most, if not all, put forth the notion that America is already a Socialist nation; that combining the public’s resources to pay for roads, education, law enforcement, fire departments, and the military are examples of socialism. It comes down to definitions, so I thought I'd flesh some out.

We’ve moved away from the dated Marxist model to something ever more insidious. Random House Dictionary:

“…a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.”

The ‘insidious’ part is that our government doesn’t need to claim ownership anymore, it can just control. Obama and the Dems tried outright ownership of GM, Chrysler and some financial institutions by using printed money and taxes not yet collected to purchase them, and it has been rejected by a majority of the American people. Through regulation though, control had become key. The private sector can’t breathe because the python of government has so constricted it.

Here’s the breakdown; public provision of non-public goods and central planning. According to economists, public and non-public goods have what’s known as rivalry and excludability. Rivalry is if one person uses something, another person is denied that thing. A road doesn’t fit this, because someone using that road doesn’t deny usage by another. Something that’s excludable has access limited to who wants to pay for that good or service.

Those things mentioned before, law enforcement, roads, etc., are public goods, they’re non-rivalry and not exclusive. The other things that my Leftist friends identify as public goods like welfare and Obamacare are excludable. This may be well intended, but everyone is forced to pay for them regardless of whether they use them or not.

Central control, or using the Marxist phrase, central planning, the Soviets and Chinese Communists implemented, and our government is implementing the same. This is where the ‘socialism’ part comes in. We keep getting legislation passed that regulates the private sector, in fact controlling it, plus legislation creating ‘public goods’ that only a small sector of the population uses. That’s the control part. We are, as a nation, moving closer to having all goods and services controlled by the government. The stated goal by Democrats and other Leftists (and yes, some Republicans) is to ensure a leveling of incomes through redistribution (mostly through progressive taxation).

This provides control of goods and services usually provided by the private sector. That it’s successful as a method of redistribution was brought in to question by an overt Communist, the Left’s much admired Mikhail Gorbachev.

“Wage leveling has a destructive impact not only on the economy but also on people’s morality, and their entire way of thinking and acting. It diminishes the prestige of conscientious, creative labor, weakens discipline, destroys interest in improving skills, and is detrimental to the competitive spirit in work. We must say bluntly that wage-leveling is a reflection of petty bourgeois view which have nothing in common with Marxism-Leninism or scientific socialism.”

Since the inception of the Democrats “War on Poverty”, we have the same amount of poverty in this country.

Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, a vital part of the private sector real estate market have lost billions of dollars, is controlled by the government. The government doesn’t have to own Fanny and Freddie; it just needs to control them. Traditional socialism was about ownership of production; now the insidious part is the Socialists just need to control, not own it. It runs in the background, so not many pay attention to it. They're busy working and raising families. That’s why we hear the Democrats always saying we need more regulation, it’s how they control, quietly.

Leftists control education, the auto industry, the banking industry, the agricultural industry, the real estate industry, the financial and insurance industries, and have done so putting forth the idea this control is for the purpose of redistributing the wealth. It’s in fact about redistributing power from the people to themselves.

Statist Dean still blurring the lines, but getting closer to telling the truth. The Democrat Party is the party of government. The permanent campaign is to ensure all, not part, of their socialist agenda gets implemented. Heads up America, the Dems want a one party socialist system of government. Period.

Let's All Fail and Be Miserable Together

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.

That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that.

Please take ten and listen. I can't tell whether this is a history lesson or prophecy. I am stunned that people, in a free nation, are willing to turn every aspect of their lives over to the government, and give up liberty.
