May each of you have the heart to conceive, the understanding to direct, and the hand to execute works that will leave the world a little better for your having been here. -- Ronald Reagan

Thomas Tallis - Why Fum'th in Fight (vid)

"Why fum'th in fight the Gentiles spite, in fury raging stout?

Why tak'th in hand the people fond, vain things to bring about?
The Kings arise, the Lords devise, in counsels met thereto,
against the Lord with false accord, against His Christ they go."

Psalter of 1567 for the first Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury, Matthew Parker. Written by Thomas Tallis.

Based on Psalm 2:1-2 "Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The Kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His anointed."

I keep listening to this, and each time I'm more drawn in and swathed in its harmonies.
