May each of you have the heart to conceive, the understanding to direct, and the hand to execute works that will leave the world a little better for your having been here. -- Ronald Reagan

Luis Gutierrez and Hate Speech in Congress. Shame on Him

Luis Gutierrez
This man is so indicative of what many on the Left drip with. Disrespect, lies and hatred. This is a representative, an official in the government. I read the comments on YouTube and was astonished that most agreed with this lying low life hateful, spiteful person and amplified his hate speech. Members of Congress, or any government official should never speak and behave in such a vile and horrid manner. When DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen started to quietly and professionally respond he left while she was talking. Shame on him.

At about 4:20 in the clip, he brought Christian religion, the baby Jesus, and made up a story about what happened to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph and ‘the wall’. Just what a bunch of hooey. This man, with so much hate in his heart, so many lies in his mind, so much misinformation in his speech, needs at least our prayers for redemption and healing.

We Don't Need No Stinkin' Love

I’m almost overcome by the amount of hatred, vitriol and lack of forgiveness directed at people that aren’t Leftists/Cultural Marxists. These people have no love in their hearts. We all need to be taught love, and with the popular culture never having been taught, the hatred, lies and intolerance grows. What they don’t know is this from the Apostle Paul, from Corinthians 1:

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.  If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it, but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.  It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

We all listen to the attacks on Trump, attempting to criminalize his every thought and deed. It’s about destroying lives. An example being the destruction of Kavanagh, using the liar Christine Margaret Blasey Ford to turn him out to be a serial gang rapist. The comedian Hart recently has to withdraw from being host of the Oscars. Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray won the Heisman, gave a wonderful heartfelt faith filled acceptance speech, and at the same time a USA Today writer released a tweet from when Murray was 14 years old that is deemed ‘homophobic’. While the country was mourning the passing of Bush, the intolerant hate-filled Joy Behar was railing against Trump, was called on it, that they should be talking about Bush, she exploded. Lastly, Don Lemon, arguably the most villainous hate-fill talking head on TV, when Trump at the Bush memorial, reached across to shake Obama’s hand, Obama took the gesture. Lemon said he couldn’t bring himself to shake Trump’s hand.

All these things, at the heart, shows the lack of love, the lack of forgiveness. These people, and most of the people on the Left, the neo-Bolsheviks, the cultural Marxists, officially represented by the Jurassic Press and Democrat Party lack everything the Apostle Paul said about love. They aren’t patient, not kind, they are jealous, boastful, proud and rude (Behar inappropriately railing about Trump, and Lemon not shaking an offered hand). They are irritable. They demand everyone see things their way or have their lives destroyed. They rejoice about injustice (General Flynn did not lie, Mueller said he did), and hate the truth. They are never hopeful. They do not love. They are incapable.

They need prayers. They need guidance. Somehow they need to be instructed in Judeo-Christian courtesy, behavior, manners, and compassion.

It's Not A Lack of Civility, It's A Lack of Human Decency

Carlson's house under attack by Leftists

It’s not a lack of civility, it’s a lack of decency. It isn’t merely a lack of civility to run people out of restaurants, or go to their homes and protest.

This is what Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) said on NBC when asked about what happened to Ted Cruz: “This is what happens because when you look at white supremacists and all that, this is what’s coming forth in our country. There is a tremendous divisiveness in our country. This is the kind of activism that occurs and people make their own decisions. If they violate the law, then they have to account for that.” Ted Cruz is Hispanic. So how can he be a White Supremacist?  His family is from Cuba. (Same situation with Ben Shapiro, and orthodox Jew that wears a yarmulke and leftists call him a Nazi.) Hirono also told all men to shut up.

Mitch McConnell has been accosted at a restaurant and an airport. There were chants of “We know where you live!” Elaine Cho, his wife and the Transportation Secretary has been accosted several times. Rep. Steve Scalise was shot (not followed by calls for gun control by the Left) when a Democrat gunman opened fire on a group of Republicans.

The Daily Caller: ‘Martin Astrof was arrested after he threatened to kill supporters of Congressman Lee Zeldin and President Donald Trump,’ Suffolk PD said. ‘Astrof went to the campaign headquarters of Congressman Zeldin and became irate with a campaign worker at approximately 11:15 a.m. After threatening to kill the campaign worker and other supporters, Astrof backed his car up in an aggressive manner nearly striking the worker.’

Richmond Times-Dispatch: “On Saturday, a woman reportedly screamed at former White House advisor Steve Bannon, who was shopping at a bookstore in Richmond, Virginia. The woman called Bannon a “piece of trash” and continued to yell at him until the bookstore owner called the cops.”

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was yelled at and run out of a Mexican restaurant.

ABC News: “A DHS employee who lives in the Washington DC area found a body of a burned, decapitated animal on his front porch, ABC News reports.

Idaho State Rep. Priscilla Giddings was threatened with rape and told to kill herself.

White House advisor Stephen Miller had wanted posters in his neighborhood. Once when he went to pick up an order at a restaurant an employee flipped him off and started yelling at him.

When these are pointed out to Leftist talking heads, these activities are justified by them. Free speech, because these are White nationalists, racists, bigots, homophobes, etc.

Nothing new here, it’s been going on for years. Leftists go to people’s homes, publish their personal info, and get them fired from their jobs. Ever hear of Brendan Eich? He lost his job for supporting and contributing to Prop 8 in California a few years back that supported the notion that marriage should be between a man and a woman, the traditional view. At the time he worked for Mozilla which he was the co-founder of. He was the inventor of the Firefox browser. He wrote JavaScript. That was reduced to just “Java” and is the most used computer language in the world. Last laugh, he was going to retire, was ticked off by this, invented a new computer browser, made an additional $36 million with it in crypto-token sales.

Justice Kavanagh was lied about. His family (with small young children) was exposed to the lies and hatred.

Then yesterday CNN’s alleged “journalist” kept attacking Trump, did a hate filled lying filibuster, pushed away an aide trying to take the microphone and continued to berate the President. Leftist talking heads all praised Acosta and said it was all Trump’s fault, and Trump was the rude one. Then another reporter that had not been called, went after Trump for being a White nationalist, and leading White Nationalists with his rhetoric.

Last night Tucker Carlson’s house was attacked. His family was home and he wasn’t.

Going back years the Left has been doxing (releasing personal info), harassing, being violent, rioting, destroying, and causing people to lose their jobs just because they have different socio-economic, religious values. It’s why I call them neo-Bolsheviks.

The recent win of the House of Representatives by Leftists/Democrats will embolden them more, just like electing a Black man made charges of racism by the Left even worse. Stand by for more dangerous and indecent behavior by them.

Straight Talk, Crooked Talk, Experience and Obfuscation

Democrat Voters

I’ve just written about the imbalance in the Arizona senate race. One with leadership experience, training and education, McSally and an anti-capitalist, anti-military pink tutu wearing protester with no leadership creds and a degree in social work. This imbalance shows elsewhere.

In Georgia, Democrat Stacey Abrams is leading in the polls. This weekend Black Panthers marched through Atlanta brandishing AR15’s chanting ‘power to the people’ and ‘black power’.  Of course she supports banning “assault” weapons even though it would be unconstitutional. She’s walked back that stance and said it should be done through legislation.

She’s for all the standard Leftist issues, and like the rest of the Leftist radicals running for office, tones down, explains the nuance causing the misunderstanding of what she’s said before.

Educationally and the government experience is about the same between her and her opponent, Brian Kemp. Difference is one is anti-second amendment, has the support of the violent Black Panthers, open borders, pro illegal immigration, and the rest. Kemp, though not entirely conservative supports immigration law, and the rest of the Trump agenda.

Beto O’Rourke has accomplished nothing in his life, yet seems to think he can win because celebrities have given him oceans of money. A media blackout isn’t letting the public know he’s probably sending money to the “caravan”. Ted Cruz has Texas locked down.

In Florida Andrew Gillum has a lot of corruption charges against him as Mayor of Tallahassee and if it’s brought up you’re a racist. He’s for open borders, for abolishing ICE and the usual Radical Leftist programs. His opponent is Ron DeSantis, who went to Yale then Harvard law school, and served as a Jag officer, was in Seal Team One, was in Fallujah. Again a person with life experience, combat experience and leadership experience and training.

I know I’m a partisan, but good grief, when you have person back peddling, softening their policies and position to move themselves to the center, have been political operatives all their lives, don’t support the rule of law, vs, people with military, combat, leadership experience, have been to various leadership schools, say what they stand for straight up without covering up those policies and principles; to me choices are clear. That half the country prefers people that only talk talk talk without the walk walk walk  and that astounds me.

So I’m counting on McCallum, Kemp, DeSantis, and others with experience in the real world, with leadership experience and training, believe the rule of law is the rule, are selected to lead their communities and the corrupt liars and political operatives are kicked to the curb.

How Could This Mismatch Even Be Under Consideration?

Most politicians are corrupt, vile, low life bottom sucking scoundrels. I think that bar has been lowered.

Take a look at Arizona Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema.  'These women who act like staying at home, leeching off their husbands or boyfriends, and just cashing the checks is some sort of feminism because they're choosing to live that life.' “That’s bullshit. I mean, what the f*** are we really talking about here?” That she said in 2006. She called Conservatives ‘Neanderthals’. Nice.

Project Veritas has a tape of Sinema and her unfiltered thoughts. She’s for banning guns, yet denies it, open boarders, yet denies, has protested a lot against the policies of the US, said its okay if a person wants to join the Taliban and fight against Americans, and yet denies it. The denials come in form of challenging nuance of what she really met.

Arizona state troopers withdrew their endorsement. Much of what she says on the campaign trail is to present herself as a centrist, not the leftist radical she is. She’s lied about being homeless. She was in a poor home but had a home. She co-founded an anti war group Local to Global Justice. This group had a flyer in 2003 saying: ““You can help us push back U.S. terror in Iraq and the Middle East.” Another: "All out against Bush and he Fascist Imperialist War."

Yet she presents herself as pro military.

On the other hand, her opponent, Martha McSally, was a fighter pilot that has flown combat missions. She was a squadron commander that rose to Colonel before she retired after 26 years of service. Plus she fought for eight years to change the policy that US Servicewomen had to wear Muslim clothes off base. She has Master’s degrees in John F. Kennedy School of Government from Harvard and U.S. Air War College in Public Policy and Strategic Studies, where she was first in her class. Plus a whole bunch of other stellar accomplishments.

Compare that to Sinema’s Bachelor degree in Social Work and her membership in the Green Party, and in a 2002 article in the Arizona Republic denouncing capitalism.

I’m appalled that such a suspect person, anti-military, anti-capitalist, small achievements that misrepresents herself to move her public persona to the political/cultural center could be even considered and equal to a proven leader with many accomplishments under her belt. I mean, really, a leader and warrior in a flight suit vs an anti-American that dressed in a pink tutu to protest.

Not Even Artifical Intellligence Those Social Warriors

You’ve seen it with talking heads panels on TV, and probably experienced it yourself. You’re talking to a Leftist/Progressive/Democrat/Social Justice Warrior and you make a statement about the weather, marriage or whatever and you get the response: you’re a racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe, etc. You get that every time. No discussion possible. No matter what the subject. Same when you see or listen to Leftist talking heads on radio or TV. They’re on the air so they use euphemisms for the same thing.

For us seasoned citizens this is like the old talking dolls. Pull a string and it says something, then again and it says something different. How cool is that?! Pull the string a sixth time and it says what it said before, and again what it said before. Then you realize it has limited statements. Well, that’s not cool. Move up to the modern era and we have gamers.

There are characters in these called Non-player Characters (NPC’s). [‘A non-player character, also known as a non-playable character, is any character in a game which is not controlled by a player. In video games, this usually means a character controlled by the computer via predetermined or responsive behavior, but not necessarily true artificial intelligence. In traditional tabletop role-playing games the term applies to characters controlled by the gamemaster or referee, rather than another player”.] These are the extras, some are just there, and some have a line or two that they can only repeat. It has no personality, no thought, canned answers, and just preprogramed responses. The same with the Progressives/Leftists. Ask one where the X restaurant is and the response is “Socialism is the answer, capitalism sucks”.  Say it’s a nice day and the response is “climate change is real”. Say someone did or say something wrong, “you’re a racist”. (I once challenged a person who called me a racist, and was told that defending myself proved I was a racist).

There you have it...the reason why one can’t have an informed, intelligent conversation with a Leftist. They’re all NPC’s for Leftist ideology.

The pic here is a cake! Yesterday had a most fabulous time with friends in Salt Lake City. There was a house warming party; Dick had bought a house and had it remodeled. A lovely new crib.  Amazing Greek food, and a lot. At least thirty people there. A full spread, lots of laughter, good conversations. They’re an Italian family, so the desert was Italian. A great combination.

Some things happened over the past few days, which I’ll be writing about in more depth. Main things were two funerals, Aretha Franklin and John McCain. Aretha went through some horrible things in her life. It looks like memorial turned into a political rally against whites, Republicans and lots of Trump bashing. What the hell? Focus not on her. That’s what Leftists/Democrats have been doing of decades at memorials. They've corrupted everything with their politics. Sports, religion, movies, journalism, and of course funerals. I’ll chronical that sordid history. Then John McCain’s memorial was the same, though mostly it was Trump bashing. I’ll be speaking ill of the dead. He did some amazing and good things, and led a good life. What he did his last few years was destructive to the country and his legacy. Even to the end, to his funeral and memorials he blocked people from attending. Never heard of anyone doing that; they wanted to pay their respects and honor him.

Well, I’ve done some yardwork this morning, now need to assemble some furniture.

All days are good. God is good.

Saturday, September 1, 2018

I haven’t written since last September. The time since then to now was not good. Things that happened at work made me miserable, which caused me to retire earlier that I planned. I couldn’t write or read anything of note. Thus no blog posts. I was going to work until 2021, way over 65 years old. My misery at work got me to take action and retire now. It’s a good thing, better than I imagined. Two years ahead of what I planned, I now own and live in a house overlooking a valley and mountains, I can see stars at night, and hear crickets. One morning when I opened the curtains a fawn was outside my window. I’m not working, having to be monitored and critiqued about everything I said and did. Being treated that way causes a free spirit to suffer. I toughed it out and here I am.

Yesterday was a retirement party at work, my last day. It was also an event for my friend Paul, also retiring. We’ve know each other for years, and I’m glad he too is free to pursue his dream. It was an emotional event, testimonies about both of us and how we had such a good and memorable impact on people. Given that, I am happy to leave. UPS was a mostly miserable place to work; many unhappy people there because of it.

The first Sunday in August I also left my church, First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Las Vegas. That was also emotional, and more deeply so since it is a place and people I love. A place I was accepted and helped and appreciated. I learned and taught guided and was guided.  It is sadness for me to leave.

All of which lead me to thinking of departures past. The first departure was from high school…bittersweet. Athletic glory days and some academic success. That summer I ended up at the Bright Angel Lodge at the Grand Canyon busing tables. Tips got me enough to get me into Northern Arizona University (plus a hundred bucks from Dad).

I completed my freshman year, carrying 17 hours and a full time job at a restaurant. I knew I couldn’t do three more years of that, so I joined the Army and they gave me a Southeast Asia vacation, all expenses paid. Unlimited bullets and beer. Quite a formative experience for a twenty year old. That was a happy departure. Out of the Army and out of Vietnam February 10th 1971. That was unbounded joy. From there back to college on the GI Bill and a part time job in the university library.

Departure from college was painful. I loved the academic life, the scholarship, reading, friends, discussions, and of course the parties. Met and lived with the love of my life. I was working in an alcoholism center too. All at once, I graduated (I got a letter from the university telling me I was done, time to go), broke up with my girlfriend that major league broke my heart, and the center where I worked lost its funding. I had a breakdown. Everything was gone at the same time. That was the most painful departure ever.

I ended up in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and for the next couple years worked as a roustabout in the oil patch. Worked on a rig, took off for a few months until I ran out of money and found another rig. I wasn’t invested in that work, so departure was an emotionless passing through kind of event.

I wanted to travel the world some more, so joined the Navy. Not a good experience. Couldn’t stand it, but I was stuck. I did get to visit some great places and had some good friends. That was a happy departure. I remember standing on the quarterdeck, requesting permission to go ashore the final time, and when I started down the brow, a bunch of guys on the flight deck threw their hats in the air and started cheering and yelling out my name “Dex”.  The Captain and XO were on the quarter deck scowling at me. I wasn’t too popular with the brass. Like I said, it was a good departure.

My job after that was a good departure, glad to get out of there. Conflicts with management, a lifelong issue.

Then the move to Las Vegas and twenty years as UPS. Made a few friends there, and met some super smart people. And twenty years at Church, lots of super smart and talented people. This last has a hard departure.

Each of these are a stage of life. I first became aware of these stages reading a book by Erik Erikson about Gandhi. I was twenty something. To get an idea of how long ago that was, tuition for college was $163 per semester, for all classes. I carried 17 credits, $163.

In youth, the first stage, I learned music, how to play an instrument, how to be a winning jock, how to read with discernment, and study. In the second stage of young adult, I grew in combat and weapons knowledge, scholarship, working outdoors doing manly labor, traveling. In most maturing paths, this part of life is learning a skill for the third stage. That stage usually one meets a person that becomes a spouse, an occupation is maintained and hopefully some wealth for later years to maintain the fourth stage. That stage is to get right with God. That’s for me. Others like Freud, Jung, Hindu’s, Buddhists have different descriptions, but it all about focusing things from and in the spiritual realm.

Now in my fourth stage, I’m back to religion, church, the Holy Spirit, scripture. I need to revisit Dostoevsky, Solzhenitsyn, CS Lewis, Kierkegaard, Goethe, Pasternak, and yes Ayn Rand too. Just to name a few. These were influential in my second stage. It’ll be interesting to see how differently I read and experience those writings.

Lastly it’ll be interesting how I’ll influence others, what I have to teach, share, and what more do I have to learn.
